  1. RIP Mike - you were electric and helped spring the Juice loose.
  2. That is why I voted Reed. The Comeback vs Houston was all Frank Reich and Andre Reed while Thurman and Kelly were on the bench injured. I think Biscuit may have been dinged up too. But how did you not have Darryl Talley as an option? He owned the AFC Championship game vs the Raiders that propelled Buffalo to their first Super Bowl. Had a lot of big tackles an timely picks.
  3. I should share my line up, pre waiver. Keep in mind 10 team league, everyone is loaded, but suffering QB: Wilson, Rivers, Allen RB (3): McCaffrey, Chubb, D. Cook, Conner (IA), Ware (IA) WR (3): JuJu, Cooper, Samuel, Foster, Jones TE: Ebron, Njouku DE: Rams, Jax K: Tucker IDP: others (IR) Conner, Green, Sanders Other: Hunt
  4. I know, I know. I went with my gut and played D Cook at RB3 this week and he saved my season. I faced the D Henry explosion and won because I trusted A Cooper a week before. My gut went with picking up Ebron, Conner etc. And I made the trade above for Cooper. Rivers is a terrible play. Wilson is the #2 play this week from the experts. I have the Rams D vs Arizona. In a way I want to put in Allen to prove a point, and break this curse. The Bills don't have to win, Josh Allen needs to get me 20 points. My WR3 is a mess, maybe that is the 'Allen' play with Foster. I should enjoy my improbable win tonight. But I want Allen to bring it home.
  5. Why bring Stromboli into this? He is only trying to 'collect'
  6. Ok, so no one loves fantasy only posts. Hence the title. Non fantasy players can move along. Fantasy football is a fun way to be a know it all GM. Way back I argued ridiculous trades for Andrew Luck in my very first posts on TBD (LAMP), to cut all of our old WRs (post was deleted cuz I was 'mean'), to draft Kyle Van Der Esch and do what it took to get Khalil Mack. My fantasy buddies laughed at me for for trading P Lindsay, M Breida and D Funchess for K Hunt and Amari Cooper in week 5. None of those things worked out..... I am in the championship game in my league and had the top scoring team (178 ppg) this season. Std scoring, 2 flex, IDP and only a 10 team league. 10 team leagues mean everyone is loaded, all the time. I prefer 10-12 team leagues for this reason. My first round pick was Bell (0 points). I lost AJ Green, E Sanders, Conner and Hunt in the last 4 weeks, and still managed to go 10-4, and be the top scoring team. As I lost players I added depth and Bills for ***** and giggles. I now have Josh Allen, Zay Jones and Robert Foster. My QB1 is Rivers and QB2 is Wilson. Josh Allen has outscored both since I picked him up 4 weeks ago. A Little Background: I was down 7 points to the #2 scoring team on Monday night. I had McCaffrey and Samuel, my opponent had Newton and a 7 point lead. The Christian McCaffrey 50Yd TD pass advanced me to the Championship Game. I am playing with house money now. I think it's time to start Josh Allen vs the Pats and break the curse. I have been in 5 fantasy championship games. I am 1-4. I have lost 3 championship games with Rivers at QB and one with Wilson as QB. My bench QB scores could have won any of those games. The rest of my team is solid. Should I start Josh Allen? Let's break the curse!!!
  7. Alabama doesn't wait for you to get healthy, they bring in another 5 star recruit. I'd bring Malachai Depre in for camp again for similar reasons. Give an open competition to young WRs + vet FA + 1-2Rnd pick. Dupre attended John Curtis Christian High School in River Ridge, Louisiana. As a senior, he recorded 34 receptions for 607 yards and six touchdowns and as a junior he had 36 receptions for 816 yards and 15 touchdowns. Dupre was rated as a five-star recruit and was either ranked as the first or second best receiver in his class by numerous scouting outlets.[1][2] He committed to Louisiana State University (LSU) to play college football
  8. never put that kind of money on a divisional game unless its Pats vs Bills. ? wait, the Bills play who this weekend? Mortgage the house and 401k!!!
  9. NO, they look like psychotic pajamas. The beautiful blues need to be worn more. Those are among the top 5 uniforms in the NFL.
  10. I see Bucky actually making a case for JA in these posts and tweets. It is frustrating seeing coverage fawn over Watson and Jackson as the next wave of dual threat QBs, with JA being considered marginal. Watson is a better passer to this point in his career, and I think he will have a solid NFL career. I like Watson a lot. Watson is also in his second year, and is passing to D.Hopkins, D Thomas, Will Fuller and Sutton. Lamar Miller is no bum at RB. Houston has a great Defense. Jackson has fewer games and is doing what JA did in his earliest games. But Jackson gets the attention. Jackon has Crabtree, Snead, and Brown to throw to. They are loaded at RB with Collins, Allen, Edwards and Dixon. The Ravens are also a great defensive team. Josh Allen has Zay Jones, McKenzie and Foster to throw to. Shady has dropped off, Ivory is out and then what? The Defense has played well, but has produced few scoring opportunities this season. Put Allen in the Houston or Baltimore offense and see what he does. There is no Hopkins and Thomas or even a Crabtree and Snead on this roster. Yet JA is starting to elevate guys like Foster and McKenzie. Buffalo MUST get Allen some legitimate weapons. I'd take a mix of Hopkins and Brown, or Thomas and Snead over anything Buffalo can put out there. Young legs are needed at RB also. Tate or Williams have to be a priority FA WR, and a round 1-3 receiver needs to be drafted. The O-line has to be improved, though they looked much better last weekend. We saw what JA can do with a little time. Watson, Allen and Jackson are all dual option QBs and will be the type of QB the NFL will look to emulate in the coming years. Buffalo has one of them, they need to get him some help.
  11. I don't get some of the Whaley hate. He was able to find some decent draft picks, was good at scraping the barrel for contributors and was a witch in trades. Cap management was poor. I think the XFL is making the same mistakes all upstart pro football teams make. Putting teams in solid NFL cities. Could think of some solid metros that don't have NFL football that would be great fits Some are cities burned by the NFL that have stadiums Some are growing cities overlooked by the NFL, many with stadiums And plenty of 1-3 million plus metros with no pro sports teams. I'd also target capitals to get past red tape. 2 conferences 4-6 teams each - top 2-3 records per conference get in Potential East Teams Toronto - beat the NFL into the expansion into Canada (media center for the league) Orlando - 2.4 million metro, holding pro sports teams Columbus - fastest growing metro in the midwest, supporting MLS, 2 million metro (capital) Raleigh/ Durham - fast growing 1-2 million plus metro, no pro sports (capital) Richmond - million plus metro, no pro sports (capital) Providence or Hartford - 1 million metro, no pro sports - close to major population centers (Capitals), fills the NE gap Louisville - million metro, no pro sports, fills the south/midwest gap Potential West Teams: Oakland - Football clout, has stadium, lost team, bay area presence San Diego - Football Clout, has stadium, lost team, Southern CA presence Saint Louis - Football clout, has stadium, lost team, 3 million metro San Antonio - has stadium, supports pro team, overlooked by NFL, 2.4 million metro Oklahoma City - fast growing, holding NBA team, 1.3 millon and growing Salt Lake City - supports NBA, 1.3 million metro, the 'Broncos' of the XFL Portland - supports NBA, West hub not in CA, metro 2.3 million If I've learned anything, don't put pro football teams in markets with embedded NFL teams
  12. yep, Tate or Williams would be a nice add and a Rnd 1 or Rnd 2 draft pick to try to find a 'do it all WR' like AJ Green.
  13. With the young guys coming around I agree now. A steady producer. Makes contested catches, doesn't have to be 'the guy'. Would still draft a WR in round 1 or 2.
  14. Foster is a deep speed WR3.He can break a defense in a play. with practice he can be what Lockett is as a #3 or #4 in Seattle. Foster is no WR1 or WR2, but he is a dangerous WR3 or WR4. Build around a guy like this. With a QB like Allen he has a role. A WR1 and WR2 are still needed. Foster in the slot and Jones at the other slot is not bad.
  15. I'm not concerned about his playing career, I worry about him keeping his leg or worse. Infections in wounds like this are really really bad. If it is like MRSA that can lead to septic shock. Not good at all. Good luck Alex Smith. Always a classy guy, a professional and became a good player.
  16. Me too, just for kicks. 1 week regular season to go. I'm in the playoffs regardless and a weaker seed could help. May start Allen and Jones for playoff experience LOL
  17. I'm talking about the QB as a prospect and potential. I think Dabs has some chops, but what did he have to work with? The team needs to invest in OL, WR at the least. Rome wasn't built in a day. Back in the day the Bills had Kelly, Reed, Thomas, Wolford, Hull etc in 1985-1986 and it took a season or two for the Bills to put it together. In 1987-1988 despite the talent on the offense, the Bills were a defense first team. I remember clearly a pre-season article from Rochester's D+C writer Bob Matthews in 1988 into 1989 mentioning that the Bills would not be an offensive power for years to come. That was the year that laid the foundations for the no huddle. This is a proper rebuild. Drafting a WR in rund 1 or 2 makes sense, since most WR take a year or two to develop. Same with OL. Any RB can come into a decent passing attack and do well. The point was that Josh Allen is a curve pusher. He breaks statistical molds. Build around him and grow. Try to make him what he is not, and fail. He needs help, and if that is done, he could be a great QB.
  18. In the pre-season I compared Allen's college stats, physical ability and IQ to Brett Favre and got destroyed for it. I tried to explain that every 20-25 yrs a guy comes along that breaks standard stats. I showed that Brett Favre was the last guy to do it, and also argued Josh Allen has all the traits to do it again. After Minnesota, Jacksonville and Miami I stand by it. Josh Allen is in many ways Brett Favre. He will escape pressure that amazes you, he will have the arm to score anywhere on the field, he will make bone headed throws that will boggle the mind. They are both competitors and will never feel out of a game. Brett Favre was a great QB at times and a total mess at others. He was imperfect, but could win a Super Bowl. He was able to elevate his teams at times, was always positive and had an 'Awe shucks' personality that his team loved. Brett Favre was never considered a running threat, but could evade pressure like a slick cat covered in motor oil, and had an arm that could make you pay anywhere on the field. This is Josh Allen. And I stand by my original prognosis. But I would like to add Josh Allen is a better scrambler than Brett Favre Josh Allen is a better athlete than Brett Favre Josh Allen has a bigger arm than Brett Favre We have a baby Favre. Develop him. Give him weapons to maximize his strengths, and enjoy the roller coaster ride.
