Seems to be the approach at OBD. Lets have someone really awful play and then our awful guy doesnt look that bad. Would it have been too much to have a plan to have an even avg NFL starter and Allen as your #2? No we went with Peterman. Absurd. And dont want hear AJM was the plan, that was flawed as well. Guy started like a handful of games.
-
In your lines of work: If your boss continues to put some awful person out there to run things what happens. People get pissed, quit or stop doing their jobs. That is the Bills. Players have quit on the team. How do you blame them when the McD and Co allow Peterman to continue to play. It is offensive to them and embarrassing.
-
He played vs the prevent the entire game basically and threw dunk passes. First time a guy has completed 30 passes and been under 200 yards in like 20 years. His end of the half drive and not wanting to throw the ball was sad. Didnt want to risk embarrassing himself and preferred just to pad his numbers.
-
The fire someone for missing out on this guy is obviously sarcastic. But the sad thing really is we keep trotting out Peterman rather than taking a look at guys like Mullins or anyone else. It is either ego driven or just laziness. No rock unturned does not apply to qb?
-
We both want the same thing. I just dont have the "trust them or they know best mindset". I am not impressed and dont have faith in them with that I have seen thus far. The offense and Peterman repeatedly starting is beyond comprehension. Which begs the question "can you win without talent"? I think we are seeing the answer this year. What do we do if McD can coach but sucks at player evaluation? That sound like he is better suited to be a Def Coord than a head coach.
-
I agree with you that. I guess I find it hard to believe that McD and Beane are so out of sync that this should not fall on McD. How can he be trusted as a coach when he allowed his team to go into the season with these players? Its beyond belief. My opinion is his ego is so big he thinks players matter less than coaches. I have been around many coaches with that mindset. That may work in high school or even college to an extent. But not in the NFL. Even Belichek who gets so much credit would not be who he is without Brady.

They are 14th in yards allowed and 22nd in points allowed. That is considered improved? They were 17th and 19th in 2016 and 15th and 19th in 2015. So we are almost as good as we were before McD was hired. Ok, its debatable but even if we say its improved its not enough to justify how bad the offense is. Fans can choose their own behaviors. Some like to watch the games and analyze strategy. Some like the big hits or amazing plays. Some like the commercials or the dances or whatever. Being negative as you call it is not trying to accomplish anything. It is a discussion that people like to have as what they enjoy talking about. Its a debate - is the team headed in the right direction, what players should they keep, who should they draft etc. Its part of the fun for many people. While others have a mindset of just watch and be a cheerleader. Everyone on your team is the best and when they leave they are now the worst. Why can he coach if his offense has been this flawed? Is offense not important? In todays football arguably much more important.

How do you know things will get better? What have you seen that indicates this? It is interesting how fans want to defend their team or their coaches despite what is being seen. Every coach in the first year or two will have those that say "trust the process" or "it takes time" or whatever other excuse. Sometimes you have to trust what your eyes are telling you. I ask again. For the "what did you expect" or "they have nothing to work with" crowd: Why is hard to see that they are historically bad? This is beyond the normal we knew it would be like this. They are on pace to break some records for ineptitude. Think about this: They have half as many points scored as the 49ers and CJ Beathard led offense. The team lost both its starting QB and RB. An awful team. I could down the list of other teams and you will find more of the same. It is atrocious. And here we go trotting out a guy that throws a pick every 8 pass attempts and has no business being in the league.

Not the fans job. Nothing wrong with expecting better. Expecting at a minimum a group that does not continue to trot out Peterman as starting QB. That makes the Bills organization the joke of the NFL. When they signed Terrelle Pryor local and national media joked or maybe is serious that he should be starting QB. It is sad. We should expect and deserve better but dont need to have all the answers as fans.

Joke of the NFL. This is how players lose respect for their coach. Season is done anyway. I hope he throws a bunch of picks and they are forced to cut him. The guy should not be on any NFL roster. -
Sean McDermott is Out of Answers

No no no. Everyone expected the Rams to be the surprise team last year. They went 11-5 and Goff played well. It is not the same as here or even close. The year before they struggled and that was more expected with Goff starting the second half of the yea. Most did not call him a bust and expected him to be solid going into 2017. In 2016 they were 4-12 and fired the coach mid year. McVay came in and did not purge the roster. He added key pieces and kept many of the prior regime players. It is ego driven mistakes like turning over an entire roster that set teams back. -
Brandon Beane deserves to be fired tomorrow

Draft https://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2017/04/nfl_draft_2017_what_buffalo_bills_sean_mcdermott_said_about_doug_whaleys_status.html That's a bit of a departure from McDermott's answer the last few months, when he consistently praised Whaley and touted a strong working relationship. McDermott did credit Whaley and his staff for helping to orchestrate the Bills' blockbuster trade, but it was also clear McDermott was the one calling the shots. When asked whether the Bills considered trading down again at 27, McDermott spoke in the first person. "Yeah, we looked at a couple things," McDermott said. "I didn't feel or we didn't feel like it was right at this time. We looked at a couple of situations that were on the table as well at 27. We had a chance to get a good solid football player and I wasn't passing that up." -

Stop with the it’s all part of the plan. He neeeds a longer leash. He inherited a crappy roster and cap hell. All just excuses. It’s one thing to lose. But to be record setting bad. Just the fact he still has peterman as his back up an is all we need to know. At any point he could have a number of upgrades. But his ego and stubbornness get in the way. Imagine if last night was a one score game when anderson got hurt? He was again putting the game on peterman. Simply rudiculous. -
I was very wrong about Tyrod & have to own it.

Try again. That would have led the league in passing yards. Brady avg 286 last season and led the league. -

So the decline is Rex fault. But for McD it is planned? And Rex ruined he defense equals being the 15-16th best in the league. Meanwhile McD defense is 16-18th best at that is called elite. -

Why was Rex a terrible mistake but McD is not? I dont like either this far. But dont get the Rex was obviously bad when he outperformed McD. -

How can the team be talented with Rex, but McD its not? The majority of Rex guys could have been McD guys right? Taylor, Shady, Watkins, etc. -

Which Tyrod do you prefer: Tyrod 1 28-42, 274 YD, 1 TD, 1 INT 21-38, 291 YD, 3 TD 18-30, 297 YD, 3 TD, 1 INT 27-38, 289 YD, 1 TD, 1 INT 26-39, 329 YD, 3 TD 29-40, 285 YD, 2 TD 21-38, 281 YD Tyrod 2 10-17, 109 YD, 1 TD 11-12 , 181 YD, 1 TD 17-27, 158 YD, 1 TD 20-27, 165 YD, 1 TD 12-18, 166 YD, 1 TD 17-24, 174 YD, 1 TD 14-19, 195 YD, 1 TD Tyrod 1 breaks all kinds of passing records. Throws for over 4,000 yards and 30+ TD's. Tyrod 2 must suck, leads to 30th passing attack in the league. He should be replaced by Peterman. Wait Tyrod 1 team is 0-7. Tyrod 2 team is 7-0. -

What do people miss about how BAD this team is? That is never expected. You can expect to be rebuilding but this team has very little to be positive about. Go watch the Rams from a few years since people like to compare. They did not look like the Bills. The had multiple building blocks. We will be in year three shortly and have no weapons for the future on offense - WR, RB or TE. The OL has Dawkins and no one that could be considered a building block. The QB position is still a huge ?. The defense has much more potential but outside of White and Edmunds there are guys that will age out in the next few season - Williams, Hughes, Alexander, Star L, etc. -
How and Why The Bills Could Win Monday Night
ngbills replied to Kevin1778's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
NFL - Any team can win on any given day. Bills can win and wind up 4-12 and the Pats could lose and be 12-4 to end the year.
