Bills and cards trying to get to 6
RochesterRob replied to *******'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're assuming that our competition is going to sit idly while we make moves. I would not assume that for a moment. I also don't get this notion as though the Browns owe us something that they will eschew impact players for lesser players by trading down. For once the Browns are not desperate in terms of draft capital and cap space. -
Trade rumor on path to the draft on NFL network

Should not the savior win some games first? Something like 100 games over 10 years not counting playoffs? -
Trade rumor on path to the draft on NFL network

Rumor or speculation that is chalked up to "unnamed sources?" -
Any Random dates that stay in your head?

January 28, 1986. The day of the space shuttle Challenger exploding. I was walking into a class at college when I heard about it. The only time a class was shortened in my college career. Spent ten minutes getting notes and went back to my student residence to watch the news coverage. The semester was pretty new yet so not a lot of big work that needed to be done so I just soaked it all in. -
Got to have a rotation where tomatoes are concerned. The soil builds with blight and other disease so on average tomatoes in a given spot once every seven years and sometimes that is not enough. Soil needs to have ample calcium and potash and pH near neutral. Marigolds around the edges helps with tomato worms. Plenty of Cornell data to help plan conditioning the soil or other university sources as well. Water roughly an hour after sunup or an hour before sundown to minimize mildew.

Glad you took the time to post this. In a sport such as football it is nearly impossible to hide things such as personal traits. The fact that the show has called many previous LA area football talent accurately means that they are for the most part not agenda driven. Probably won't matter to the Rosen people here as they most likely have already done the mental gymnastics to pooh pooh what you said. It's definitely not certain that Rosen will fail to succeed in the NFL but he has a number of obstacles to overcome including some personal ones. Maturity can come but I have seen people be petty and selfish through some very long lives. If a team wins players will tend to deal with somebody such as Rosen but if losing comes early a team may never develop the chemistry to win. We are a team that has not won consistently over the past several years.

Sad to hear but living to 92 means having had a full life. She was a lady in an era where not all first ladies were just that.

NEW Bills Stadium question
RochesterRob replied to bills in oregon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am not expecting NYS to do much of anything in regards to a new stadium so the more expensive options such as retractable roof are not going to happen. I am thinking it will be a dome to get expanded use such as that will be. -
So you are totally ignoring that I brought up fracking which has sparked intense debate and while dead for the moment could come back as a hot issue in the future? Plenty of other issues here in NY as well. When Rosen sees what NYS takes out of each game paycheck played in Orchard Park he might just become a Republican yet. I know you want to make this about Trump but I am not playing that game. All that aside it was mentioned on the old BBMB that upwards of 8-10 thousand tickets for each game are sold in New York outside of Erie and Monroe Counties which is a bit more than chicken feed. I don't know of any business that operates under the basis that fewer customers are better for the business.

Your next to last sentence agrees with my statement. It does not take half the league to put pressure on the Bills to get this guy if that is their intent. It would only take the better part of a half dozen teams to push the price too high for Buffalo. Also, I am waiting for Beane to say Rosen is his man which I know will not happen in the real world until the Bills go to the podium but I have to disagree with those here that say that they "know" Rosen is our man. Based on what real world evidence? Fact is nobody has a pipeline into the Bills offices to know what they are thinking. Don't confuse desire with Beane's intentions as they may be mutually exclusive to one another.

Length of contract for the draft capital we are most likely to use is a very large concern to me. No way we can hold anybody such as Rosen here for 10 or 15 years if he has made up his mind to not be here. Unfortunately, I can imagine a number of scenarios that would put him at odds with quite a number of WNY people.

One of my favorite Cheers episodes.

Size varies based on how good a spring we get and we are not off to a good start. Usually, I do 50 X 50 sweet corn and a couple dozen tomato plants. Trying to work broccoli, red beets, and cabbage in based in part on health benefits and in part personal desire. Need to do some bedding for things such as watermelon but darned if we have had some short seasons of late for it. Working on buying a couple of hillside acres for an orchard, berries, and such.

I got what you meant. We all see what we see based on our surroundings. Resorting to a more neutral source I don't see the NBA talked about hardly at all and certainly far less than the NFL, MLB, NHL, IL (triple A), AHL and down the line on any of the local news sportscasts. In any event we are only two people in the scheme of things. We have both have had our say so no hard feelings here.

Rocha-cha-cha in the burbs where the affluent ticket buyers reside is heavily Republican. Partly due to the unions never taking hold here like they did in Buffalo. Eastman Kodak which was the largest employer here for a number of decades never had a union shop. The Southern Tier's contribution while not of the size of Buffalo or Rochester is still significant especially in struggling times on the field.

Initially there will be no problem but there is a high degree of risk that Rosen will say something at some point to polarize people. It could be something near and dear to the boss' heart such as fracking. New York to this point has not allowed fracking but that does not mean that it will never be open for debate here and it would affect a fair amount of Bills fans who are land owners that would benefit from fracking.

Do they care inside of closed doors of course not. But Terry certainly cares when he has to go outside the Buffalo city limits to be assured of a sellout for the Cap. Also, I would imagine that those towns are very good for selling Bills-marked NFL merchandise which has little market value 120 miles or more away from Orchard Park.
