  1. At this point no real information is being put out. WHAM is putting out Allen as the Bills goal but that probably means that Allen is in fact a misdirection with the Bills real interest yet to be determined.
  2. OK. We have an unnamed source along with an un quantified deal. We just learned a lot- NOT!!! I want the two minutes back that I used to open this "informative" thread.
  3. With our recent moves we are at 63.6M in cap space. Not 90-100M like we were several weeks backs. Decent cap room but will get eaten up in a hurry with several needs easily between offense and defense. The 2019 signees will not all be top shelf blue chip players due to needs. Then there is the matter if we trade our 2019 first round pick. We are not on easy street this year and next year.
  4. As I have been saying the last day or so I think that Darnold being prized by the Giants is just to goad Cleveland to take him so Rosen is there for the Giants. The Jets may have screwed themselves especially if Mayfield was not on their list.
  5. You sure do. Rosen's comments are not the same thing as the Commish standing at the podium saying "With the (whatever) selection the Buffalo Bills select Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA. The Commish reading that is the only thing I will get excited about. You talk about penis' but yours obviously has a hair trigger aspect.
  6. A trade to anything other than 1 is pointless until the draft opens. I don't care about the media or GM speak that people are sucking up as gospel. Still an excellent chance three QB's could go to the current teams in the top three slots. Odds are who is there at 4 probably is not the guy the Bills had pegged as their guy.
  7. I still think behind the Giants smokescreen about Darnold that if Rosen is there after Darnold goes number 1 that the Giants take Rosen. Also, I am not convinced that the Browns are not hot for Barkley at 1 which would leave the Giants and Jets to grab a QB. If the Browns go QB at 1 then it is table scraps at 4 most likely. The verdict would have been given by three different organizations as to the least desirable of the top 4 QB's.
  8. Could be true or he is just following his agent's advice to hold any negativity back for the time being. Whether it be by us or somebody else who drafts him he is going to say all the right things for the present.
  9. That would be like Randa Jarrar turning down a free pass at the all you can eat buffet. It ain't happening.
  10. I think the Darnold talk is all posturing. Obviously, all teams do not rate all the QB's equally in a given draft but I can't believe that it would be Darnold or nobody for the Giants. Would not surprise me that Darnold for Gettleman is a goad for the Browns to take Darnold at 1 and leaves Rosen available at 2 for the Giants.
  11. I'm pretty confident the Giants will get Eli's successor with the second overall pick. Even if Eli was just a few years younger I could see the Giants going with a non-QB thus opening the door to a trade. The grades on the QB's don't warrant taking them ahead of Chubb or Nelson but you have three teams at the top of the draft order who have QB issues at present or will have in a year or two. I still think the Bills are blocked out from the top 4 with Denver taking a QB and moving Lynch during the draft.
  12. Assuming that a move up for QB fails to occur using the 12th overall to get Roquan Smith would not be a waste in my mind.
  13. I think that the pick was only put up "for sale" to see if somebody would pay "stupid money" in terms of compensation. Elway did not say that trading out of 5 had to happen but rather played the used car salesman in that he would listen to offers. That's going to be the game for any of the top teams in the draft. "We'll sell IF we get an offer we like." Kind of like the guy on Craigslist who has a car priced at 20K when Kelly's Blue Book has it at 10K.
  14. I don't know about that but I am trying to figure out the over/ under on "I quit this team," "Pegula needs to sell the team," and "Beane has got to go" threads.
  15. Going off on a tangent but just checked IMDb and in one of the 1960's Batman episodes the Joker had a a henchman named Uranus in the Zodiac themed episodes. The character was played by stuntman Chuck Picerni who appeared on Hill Street Blues, 24, and the A Team as well as the Die Hard movie series and Lethal Weapon series. I wonder if anybody ever busted Chuck's chops about his Batman appearance?
  16. They need to have the freedom to follow their plan whatever it may be. People here need to brace themselves in terms of that and realize that Beane is NOT going to be fired because he did or did not draft a given prospect. The way people carry on here I have to wonder how mentally stable some posters are.
  17. The USFL folding was not a guarantee of Kelly coming to Buffalo. Kelly even said at one point that he was thinking about sitting out 1986 which was the last year the Bills held the rights to him. Al Davis was very hot to sign him and rumor was that Al contacted Jim about sitting out 1986 with the intent to make Kelly a Raider in 1987. Kelly's competitive nature ultimately held sway so along with a record contract from the Bills he wound up with us. Things could have easily worked out in a way to hurt us back then.
  18. Often the best decisions are the ones that are very unpopular at the time they are made.
  19. I think something that drastic would have been figured out in the interviews before now. Not that the general public would know that Rosen's Bills interview was a disaster but at least the team would be fore warned. Heck, they might gamble on taking him with the idea of trading him for in excess of the value of the number 12 pick. No doubt that they would talk to Arizona, Pittsburgh, etc. before they make that gamble.
  20. A huge chip on that shoulder might mean going to the IR ASAP.
  21. If Rosen fell out of the top 10 then the Dolphins would have next crack at him and I doubt the two do business. Then it would be us at 12 and while I am not gaga over Rosen he would be a good choice at 12. The Pats would have to jump up to 6-9 in my opinion to get him.
  22. Denver "trading out" of 5 does not preclude moving up as opposed to the more widely held view of moving down. Keenum and Lynch do not have no trade clauses after all. Only Elway and a couple of others know for sure if Lynch is worth spending more roster time for. Signing Keenum is not a vote of confidence for Lynch. Elway might be biding his time with Lynch looking for a window to move Lynch.
  23. Well, if this is true and the worst is a small jump to 10 to get him then two picks had better be OL related and probably better pick up a RB as insurance in case McCoy goes down.
  24. Your last sentence makes certain posters here sleep better at night if they want to believe that Eli has some good years left and a handful of rookies are going to overcome the many deficiencies the Giants have.
