We are talking about a 6th round pick and CB5 on the team. I think you are being a little dramatic man. I'll give McDermott some benefit of the doubt when it comes to DBs. If they thought he had good potential at CB I don't think they release him.

How bad must Hamler have been for them to trade for a guy rather than just have him fill in for a few weeks? -
We've known 1-5 for 4 months now. But I agree that is what is causing the overreaction.
-
You think Hamler being waived is the difference in us being /not being the worst WR group in the league? People are lost their minds over WR 6/7/8.

Why? It's not that unusual to carry 5 WRs, we did it last year. I honestly don't expect them to add anyone that will be on the 53 at this point, maybe some new bodies for the PS. I think people need to accept that McBeane is comfortable with who they have for this season.

I'm really excited about our young o lineman. Think both SVP and Grable can be starters as soon as next season. How nice would it be to not have to pay Brown? -

Yea that's fine. 30 yard FGs and 4th stringers getting an extra rep both have basically 0 value, it's really not something worth debating. -

I'd rather give Bass the confidence boost, he needs it. I hope we kick as many FGs as possible. -

One site has the Jets favored to win the AFCE

Jets schedule is a joke. Pretty big advantage getting to play Steelers, Vikings and Broncos vs us playing Ravens, Lions and Chiefs. I still think Bills will win the division, but if I had to pick an alternative I would definitely take the Jets over Miami. -
I don't understand the trade. Were there character/work ethic concerns with Dotson? Why would they even be looking to trade him? Recent first round pick who has been somewhat productive. It's not like they are deep at WR.

Well, McDermott is already pretty aggressive on 4th down. I'm guessing we'll be going for it even more now from the opp 25-45, which I don't necessarily think is a bad thing. But an unreliable kicker with a bad contract is a pretty brutal problem to have. Bass' strength is his big leg, and we can't even use it. Hopefully he shakes it off once the games start and gets his confidence back. -
I'm not too negative, I still like our chances this year. But I'll admit, I'm not too confident in our coaching staff. And while I'm a huge Beane fan, he has some general philosophies I strongly disagree with, and he seems very stubborn and unwilling to make adjustments now that he is building a team around a generational QB. I don't think McDermott's seat is even lukewarm at the moment, likely multiple seasons of missed playoffs away from getting canned. And the thought of going the majority of Allen's prime with him as HC is a bit depressing as a fan.
-
A lot, but I don't think the thought will even cross Beane's mind.
-
Do you feel better now? By depth I meant WR 4/5/6. MVS/Hollins/Claypool was a very strong group. Right now we are looking at Hollins as WR2 and Shavers/Hamler/ Isabella making the team as our depth, which yea is abysmal.
-
For MVS hopefully he means out a few weeks from now, and not a few weeks of the season. I don't see any clarification on this.
-
Yea, he's already been out a week or so and we still have three weeks until the season, so hopefully he will be good to go.
-
This is a pretty brutal update with so many guys being week to week this close to the season. Samuel with turf toe, isn't that something that can linger? And MVS out multiple weeks. Our depth at WR suddenly isn't looking that strong. And it looks like there is the potential for Lewis to be the starting S week 1.
