  1. I hear you. My argument is if I'm Cleveland and I don't love the quarterbacks, then don't take one. Trade down as far as you want in that case.
  2. The idea of a shorter term deal gets me thinking Arizona. Go to the Cards and try to win a Super Bowl with Larry Fitzgerald over the next couple of years. They are going to have to cut some players to make it happen though.
  3. I love Rosen, but I'd honestly be ok with any of those five. After those guys I don't see a potential franchise guy.
  4. Basically the same size as Mike White. Bigger hands than Rudolph, but a bit on the smaller side.
  5. I agree with you on taking Barkley. But why not trade down from 4 if you don't love the quarterbacks? Sign a vet, draft Barkley, then trade down for more picks.
  6. Thanks for sharing. These points are huge in relation to Rosen. Having a guy on our team who played left tackle for Rosen for two years is a big deal. You have someone who can clarify questions about Rosen in your own house. This is huge. From everything I can gather, Conor McDermott loves Rosen. I will be interested to see if the Bills interview Kolton Miller, who played with Rosen for 3 years, and Scott Quessenberry, who played center for Rosen for two years. These are the guys who can show that "stories match up."
  7. With Cordy Glenn on board I'm thinking Billy Price and the best linebacker on the board. They are shifting to a 3-4 defense, so they will need more picks to fill it out. If they sign Andrew Norwell, they may find themselves in the Super Bowl next year. Glenn, Norwell, Price is a great way to re-build an offensive line. That is why I think they trade down.
  8. I think a Cleveland trade down makes sense if they go with a veteran quarterback. I still think they will sign McCarron, draft Barkley with 1, trade down from 4, develop Kizer. It's the fastest way to competing. You have McCarron, a really good offensive line, Corey Coleman, Josh Gordon etc. They could go from 0-16 to 8-8 on the edge of the playoffs. Having 2 of the top 4 picks becomes a really expensive situation in a couple of years with fifth year options and such. While it sounds like a cool idea on paper, when these guys pan out, the Browns are going to have to pay all of them. It's the problem the Rams are having now, they have a number of high picks whose pay days are coming up (Watkins, Joyner, Goff, Gurley, Donald) and they are going to wind up having to cut a really good player like Mark Barron or Robert Quinn. With all of that said, I am only trading up for Rosen and I think we need to trade up with the Giants to get him.
  9. Im not saying that's what they are thinking, my point is that whether they want to keep him or not....what are they supposed to say at the moment? Trying to look into what they are saying here seems futile. Although if they were going to keep him, why wouldn't they just say that now?
  10. They are in a tough spot. What are they supposed to say? "Listen, Tyrod took us to the playoffs, but he kinda sucks. We are gonna pick up that option so we can try to trade him for whatever we can get. F process....we already know he blows."
  11. I'm going with #1. If we traded all the way up to the top 10 for non quarterback, people, including me, would lose their minds...we've been down this road before and it is a dark place.
  12. He is definitely the better player but has more wear and tear being more of a primary back for years. Stewart has about 500 more carries than Ivory in like 35 more games. Ivory is a year younger. Perhaps this drives the price down on Ivory. Ivory is the type of guy who needs to sign before free agency if he wants to get a reasonable offer.
  13. Ok I gotcha. i just don't think Rosen is that kind of guy. he seems to genuinely want to help people because he is in a position to do so. Thanks! I appreciate it. This board is really awesome!
  14. I think this is setting people up for a rookie quarterback. That they aren't going to now go all in on this flawed roster.
  15. Are you honestly arguing that this rich athlete should NOT give his time to charities and helped those less fortunate? This is really your position? I find that hard to believe. That would make him the selfish, rich jerk that everyone is making him out to be.
  16. Pretty much 90% of the NFL have some sort of foundation that takes up a lot of their time. Ever hear of the "Walter Payton Man of the Year?" Also, if the media asked him the question you are asking here, then I am sure he would answer it. He's a twenty year old kid simply answering the questions reporters are asking him. He will be answering all of these types of questions in the interview rooms this week. The teams who focus on his character in those meetings are idiots. My point is he isn't bringing these things up...the media are asking him about them.
  17. There have been a number of rich kid quarterbacks over the years. Not every football player comes from poverty. However, Rosen chooses to use his status and platform to stand up for those less fortunate than him. This might lead to him saying some controversial things, but I don't understand how that makes him a self-centered, arrogant, silver spoon jerk. I see him as much closer to Robin Hood. The things he is saying are of no benefit to him personally. He is putting himself out there to help others and say some of the things they cannot say. He's the kind of guy who might clash with coaches if he disagrees with them, but he will be loved by teammates and will likely take the blame and fall for them. The team who drafts him better have an OC who is smarter than him, otherwise you are asking for trouble. A lot of great quarterbacks clashed with coaches over the years...Tom Brady, Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers, Dan Marino etc etc etc. It's the competitor in them. This is not a bad thing. This is the kind of thing people praise Baker Mayfield for. Why? Because he is a short, a walk on, who looks more like an every man and whose family had financial troubles? Honestly, if people take the time to read, and have some semblance of reading comprehension skills, they will see that this guy is really intelligent and the things that he is saying make a ton of sense. Is he going to stick up for the little man? Yes. Is he going to kneel for the anthem? No. Having a hot tub in the dorm? Genius...I wish I found a way to make that happen. I just can't understand the hate for Rosen. It seems like it is based on perception and not reality with a little bit of jealousy mixed in.
  18. I read this a while ago when I was trying to study Rosen. Its obvious that McDermott loves him and that the interviewer kind of baited Rosen with some of the questions and Rosen gave extremely intelligent answers. He's my guy. I'm not sure how anybody could read that interview and come to the conclusion that he is a jerk and a bad teammate.
  19. Perhaps he has some indication from the Browns that they are going to take him. If that is the case, there is no reason for him to throw here. All college coaches say this crap because it is in their best interests for guys to stay for four or five years. College coaches are snakes. They use kids up and spit them out and make millions doing it. Leach is an idiot. Rosen would have looked great running read options for Chip Kelly....Just dumb. Like you said, Rosen probably gets killed running Chip's offense and Darnold's stock would likely drop ala Matt Barkley.
  20. I just remember that one game against Miami. Other than that, I am simply not a fan. His lack of athleticism is part of the reason why Blake Bortles was able to run all over our defense in the playoff game.
