  1. He's proven himself to be terrible. Goodbye.
  2. Kingsbury is going spread zone concepts. He's gong to want the smaller, quicker linemen. Iupati is a terrible fit for that scheme. Iupati would be interesting to see if he has anything left, but it really depends on scheme.
  3. Agreed. I think they restructure Rudolph. Doesn't seem like he is going anywhere.
  4. White is an interesting buy low, but my gut tells me he heads to the Jets. He was drafted to play in Adam Gase's offense for the Bears and he's from Jersey, and they have a ton of cap. His upside is pretty much what Robert Foster gave us, so I'd just stick with Foster.
  5. Thanks! Love Dee Ford, but I think he gets the franchise tag this year. There are some question marks though. KC has been a 3-4 base for many years. With Spagnolo coming in and shifting to a 4-3, it will be interesting how they view Ford. He is considered a smaller defensive end, same size as Jerry Hughes, and while he plays a lot of the game with his hand in the dirt, the Chiefs need to determine if he can really be an every down base defensive end. I think there here is a chance they tag him and trade him, but I think it is more likely they tag him and see how he fits in their new defense for 1 year at least. In terms of edge defenders, I think the most likely guy to hit the market is Trey Flowers of the Pats and if he does, I assume he heads to Detroit or Miami. I think Clowney, Lawrence, and Ford get the tag. My favorite player out of the group is probably Frank Clark, but I think he goes back to the Seahawks. In all honesty, I think Beane will target at least two veteran offensive lineman and a tight end. I think the defensive is improved via the draft. But I like our defense overall, we just really need a 3 technique. Unless you love Sheldon Richardson or the Rams cut Michael Brockers, that player likely comes via the draft. Players who are released are available to be signed right away. We signed released players Chris Ivory and Vontae Davis before free agency last year.
  6. I think their issue is cap space, with Tyreek Hill and Chris Jones coming up soon. Dee Ford, Steven Nelson, and Allen Bailey are free agents this year. They were okay when Morse was out, and they already extended his replacement, Austin Reiter. They also extended Cam Erving. I don't think they want to lose Morse, but I do believe they will get outbid big time. I think he's the guy they may have to sacrifice. They probably have to cut Eric Berry and Justin Houston to try to sign all of these guys.
  7. From what I know he's been pretty durable, but did get hurt this year. I think Elway does let him walk becuase I don't know about his scheme fit anymore. He really is a zone center only. He's small, light, and very agile. I don't think he's the type of lineman Mike Munchak is going to need for a power run scheme. I might be wrong, but I think they let Paradis move on. I do think Gase will go hard after him. He was drafted by Denver while Gase was their OC and he is a perfect fit for his zone scheme. I figured Paradis would stay in Denver until Mike Munchak became their o-line guy. The red flag on Paradis is that he is not scheme versatile and a zone only player. All that that said, I strongly prefer Mitch Morse for us. He is scheme versatile and is very talented. The red flag on Morse is concussions. I'd be happy with either, but I'd love Morse a bit more. I think Long would be a huge upgrade if you put him at right guard and just left him there. It's were he spend his career in college. I do not like him as a center. All that said, I hope we aim higher in terms of upgrades.
  8. Thanks. I know he played a ton of Guard this year so it makes sense. I believe he was a guard at Nebraska. He's a power player they tried to make a zone center and it was destined to fail.
  9. They are going all in on Matt Paradis and I think we chase Mitch Morse. To me Long is pretty much Russell Bodine in terms of level of talent. But he he is a serviceable guy who adds depth, so probably worth a tire kick. I think we go after Morse and Daryl Williams.
  10. To add to this, I don't think your head coach should call plays. It is distracting and it sometimes keeps you from seeing the most obvious things. I think a head coach has to watch the game, which allows him to keep things in perspective and he can see the things that are obvious to people watching on TV. When you are calling plays, I think you lose persepective and get tunnel vision.
  11. I like the hire on paper. I think it really is going to depend on who he gets as his OC and if they can find a quarterback.
  12. And sign ability and other weird factors. It's crazy that Mike Trout was drafted as late as he was and a lot of it had to do with the fact that he played in cold weather. Freaking crazy crap shoot.
  13. It's how things are now. Parents going to college interviews with kids, sending complaint letters when they don't get in. And many young people can't even look another person in the eye and answer a question. It's the parents fault a lot of the time becuase they don't allow their children to take ownership or responsibility for their own lives.
  14. Good luck to him. Most people crapped all over the McVay hiring a few years ago and the Rams did more than okay. It doesn't seem like a great hire on paper, but you just never know who can make things click.
  15. Agreed. I think he would make for an almost elite center, because of his smarts, leadership ability, and quick feet. But I do think he is a bottom half of the first talent and teh top ten feels like a massive reach for need. .
  16. Williams looked over matched against Clemson and Georgia teh year before. He's look terrible against NFL caliber defensive players. His sets and footwork look smooth and such and he is very smart, but he is not an elite talent. I think he is destined for a move inside and I see a lot of similarities in his game to that of Luke Joeckel. The team that drafts him in the top ten will be very disappointed.
  17. I though the refs were okay. I thought they allowed a few late hits on Goff, he was getting smashed. But I like when the refs let them play, and for the most part they did. I usually get mad when the Pats win, and while I was disappointed, the Rams did not deserve to win the game. Super vanilla, no Gurley, not aggressive, and Goff was overwhelmed. They should have used Dante Fowler more as well because he was getting some pressure there. Hate the Pats, but the Rams did not deserve to win. They laid an egg. Saints should have been in the game anyway.
  18. Couple of side notes on Dorsey. He served as Derek Anderson's backup in Cleveland playing for Romeo Crennel (so he kind of sort of falls in the Belichick tree). He's a a disciple of Mike Shula, who has had his ups and downs. What stands out to me though is that Shula is an Erhardt-Perkins guy through and through. Hell, Shula played for Ray Perkins at Alabama back in the 80s. The positive here is that Dorsey is going to be on the same page with Daboll and will be speaking the same language. I also like like the fact that he's worked as a pro scout and in college athletics, as well as IMG academy. He has a ton of experience that makes him pretty well rounded for such a young guy.
  19. I really like the Dorsey hire. He was a guy who hung around the NFL awhile and was somewhat serviceable with pretty much no talent. Similar to a guy like Kellen Moore, dudes like that have to anticipate and use every resource in their bodies to push the ball. That's the kind of guy I want coaching JA. A guy who knows how to make use of every inch of his talent. No brainer hire. I said this somewhere else, but Hall is likely the guy who needs to be credited with the development of Robert Foster. RF made gains while on the practice squad, where he would have been coached by Hall. I'm good with it. Again a guy who made it in the league despite being tiny and having little talent.
  20. Yep I like Taylor a lot. I love his upside and he is already a better player imo. I still don't think we should draft any OL in the top ten this draft.
  21. I still say Chudzinski would be the best hire. He hasn't been a quarterbacks coach specifically, but he's been an OC and a head coach and he is a smart guy who gets along with McDermott. The other obvious one is Ken Dorsey. Morningwheh is a tried and true west coast system guy. Other names outside the box a bit who are E-P guys: Todd Haley. Super abrasive, but a guy who would likely get the best out of Josh Allen. I think he hates lazy people. He will love Josh Allen and I think he would bring a little edge to the staff. Chan Gailey. Another E-P guy who is old, but is a really great offensive mind. Jim Zorn, again an older guy, but he's got a ton of experience and worked under Daboll in Kansas City. Those last three guys are bit older, so is Chud, but I actually like the idea of an older guy with a ton of experience coaching up Josh. I might be in the minority there, but we don't necessarily need a young, innovative mind, we need a guy who is going to push Josh and get the best out of him.
  22. He's just too raw. There is pretty good upside here, but he is also more likely than most to bust. Lazy, takes plays off, type of guys don't typically succeed when things get more difficult.
  23. I really like Michael Brockers and I think he would make for a nice 3 tech in our defense. I would also take on Allen Robinson. Bears save a ton of cap if they can trade him pre 3/15, so perhaps they would give him away in exchange for another team taking on the hit. Robinson is still somehow only 25 years old. I'd offer those teams late round picks to give them a chance at extra cap savings with a trade pre 3/15 rather than a release.
  24. Both make a ton of sense. I threw Rob Chudzinski's name out there in the Palmer thread as a guy with McDermott connections who was good for Cam Newton. I really like the idea of Dorsey. I think he'd be a great fit with Josh Allen.
