  1. I still think their might be something there with 82, but honestly why not sign guys liek Troy Niklas or Ben Koyack...those guys are just sitting at home and better than what we have imo. Gaines has been bad the last few weeks. I do think that Ryan Lewis is better and I'd like to see him play more.
  2. Bring back Bobby April Also I think Taiwan Jones being out hurts. And Stanford starting at mike took him out of special teams reps. Jones is the big loss imo.
  3. I kind of wish we could get this defense or Jim Schwartz's defense paired with Chan Gailey's offense and Greg Roman's run game. Gailey could be the passing game coordinator and Roman the run game. We'd be all set.
  4. I think it was clear at the end that Rex had completely lost the team. They played with zero effort and did not believe in his coaching or scheme whatsoever. This team is still playing hard. They just suck. Vlad, Bodine, Miller are giving it everything they have, but they simply can't do it. McDermott needs to be careful over these next few games. I haven't seen signs of him losing the team, but he needs to tread lightly imo.
  5. I think this was supposed to be a tank year. I think they thought we were going to be more competitive than this. The blowouts concern me, and honestly McDermott begging the officials for calls makes him seem super lame. I lost a little respect for him yesterday. That said, I'm not willing to jump ship yet because a lot of these players suck. Gaines is awful. I thought Lewis looked better in short stints. Bodine really does suck. I didn't think Bengals fans were being fair, but he's terrible. Vlad and Miller are bad and so is Mills. The receiving corps has been pretty pathetic thus far. Nathan Peterman needs to go. I wanted to see a competitive team that squeaked out a few wins. The Texans loss, the Packers loss, even the Patriots loss doesn't bother me because we were at least competitive. Anybody who thinks Josh Allen isn't good, think about the fact that his presence raised the play of this entire team and they were able to squeak out wins and be competitive. Seeing how much this team sucks without him, proves to me that there is something special there. I don't think I can give up on McDermott yet, but he needs to field a competitive team in these division games coming up with the Jets and Dolphins. If we get blown out in those games, I will be done.
  6. One that comes to mind is Eric Mangini. The Titans should not have fired Mularkey either.
  7. A couple of interesting punter notes. Broncos released Marquete King from IR. Drew Kaser, who we worked out a few weeks ago signed with the Packers. That likely means they will be waiving JK Scott, who we should be all over in the waivers process. I'd love to get Scott in here.
  8. I wouldn't be against it. I still think Rob Chudzinski is the guy to bring in for Allen. I think it's the perfect fit .
  9. I agree. I just don't see a number 1 out there this year. That's why I think we might have to take a leap of faith on a Josh Gordon or Martavis Bryant. Perhaps there is a trade to be made somewhere out there.
  10. I'm a teacher. When I taught in the inner city I had a student named Alpacino. No lie. He was always in trouble too, so you'd be shouting "Alpacino quiet down and do your work!" Still makes me chuckle and wonder what parents are thinking sometimes. I think mom was a big Scarface fan.
  11. I consider myself to be a pretty knowledgeable fan...but what the hell is a River Cracraft?
  12. Don't necessarily disagree. I was just pointing out who GM Beane kept over having a third quarterback from the beginning.
  13. This reads like a guy who loved Mayfield and Rosen predraft and didn't like Allen or Darnold. "Most worrisome is the utter lack of football awareness. Situational football separates winners from losers on a weekly basis, and Allen has never demonstrated he’s competent on conversion downs or able to progress quickly to mismatches. Everything moves slowly for Allen’s eyes and his arm can only make up for it so often. He’s only played the position for a few years, and it has certainly been reflected on the field." I really disagree with that. Allen is a smart player and I think saying he lacks football awareness is way off. The idea that he hasn't played the position long is dumb as well. Darnold played quarterback one year in high school and 2 at USC. Anyway I think Allen's issues are all mechanical. Footwork, release point and all that stuff. And we don't have mismatches to progress to because our receivers aren't those types of guys. This analysis is pretty off imo.
  14. Im guessing he is talking about guys like Wyatt Teller, Conor McDermott, Siran Neal, Ray Ray...guys he thinks have high potential but aren't dressing on game days because they aren't ready to play, but would be claimed if waived. The mistake was probably keep guys like Khari Lee and Robert Foster. Those guys were useless and were eventually waived anyways. A blocking tight end who can't block and a fast receiver who can't catch. Ramon Humber sucks too.
  15. There are a few things at work here. Shanahan is an excellent offensive coach. The talent level around Mullens is pretty good. I wouldn't say amazing, but very good....and I feel like they stepped up their game a bit to make up for the green rookie. They have done a really excellent job of finding players that fit what Shanahan wants to do. On their pseudo re-build they have moved on from some pretty good players, players who did not fit what Shanahan wanted to do. Vance McDonald, Carlos Hyde, Torrey Smith, Colin Kaepernick, Trent Brown, Alex Boone. He and John Lynch have done a good job of finding players, both in free agency and the draft that fit what they want to do offensively. They went out and replaced those guys with players in free agency and the draft. Shanahan has a system, the guys understand it, and they execute it. We haven't gotten there yet. I do not think the offensive personnel fits what Brian Daboll is trying to accomplish. To me, it's the players, not the coaching. We have mostly replaced our loses with in house scrubs. Replacing Wood and Richie with in house scrubs like Groy and Vlad is dumb. Miller and Mills are backup players. I understand what they were trying to do with KB, but he doesn't seem to fit with Daboll. They did a great job of upgrading the defense with free agency and draft picks. White, Hyde, Poyer, Edmunds, Milano, Murphy etc etc. The offense has not been addressed because of the cap situation. I for one really like Josh Allen. If resources are devoted to upgrading the offense this off-season, I think we could see a huge jump next year. Last but not least, the Raiders are awful.
  16. I think you are in the right. Still hang out and stuff but tailgating is out of the question. Honestly, deep down I would lose the ability to trust this person. But people flip allegiances for many reasons.
  17. I think Dion has a lot of potential and I like his attitude and the way he plays. But he definitely needs some work in the footwork and hand placement departments. I think he is better than serviceable, but not elite, though I think he could eventually become elite. He has the tools imo.
  18. To me it is simply bad business to take an offensive lineman that high. Aside from an elite left tackle like Joe Thomas, don't do it. And even then it is a stretch...look how much it helped the Browns to have Thomas all of these years. I am a trenches guy, but drafting OL high unless they are clearly plug and play elite, Zach Martin, Quentin Nelson, is simply bad business. The Titans drafted Lewan and Conklin and they still suck because they have no talent. I think we try to get a top three pick which will be some combination of a quarterback, Oliver and Bosa. If I can't get Oliver or Bosa I am trading down all day.
  19. I'm fine with Barkley. I might have tried to steal Tyler Bray off of Chicago's practice squad. I was always intrigued by him.
  20. This is actually hilarious. I thought that was a bit of a funny picture when I first saw it. Interesting choice by the interwebs people.m
  21. We need to find a way into that top 3. Figure a quarterback goes #1 overall or somewhere in the top 3, Oliver and Bosa are the two elitish talents imo. I like Bosa a lot better.
  22. I think this might have been their original intent looking at Kyle Allen. But they needed a guy to get up to speed quickly, because he may have to play this week and that is why Barkley is teh better choice, for now.
