I guess my point is, I would just keep Beasley at whatever his salary is, unless I am making an upgrade. They gave him permission to seek a trade, that does not mean he can't be on the roster this year. So if the upgrade is Crowder, I would just keep Beasley.
-
They are already there. Beasley, Klein, Feliciano more than makes up for the salary. The cap is so extremely manageable. I am not a Crowder guy. He is essentially just Beasley. Kirk adds a different dynamic imo. Typically, once you pay guys like Berrios, you don't use them on returns anymore. If he is their starting slot, they will not use him to return punts and kicks. I don't think he is a special player honestly.

I love that they met with Brandon Smith from Penn State. He may be the answer we are looking for. Smith has everything Tremaine has, but he is a much more physical player and he is a bit shorter so his frame is a bit more compact and but he still has freaky long arms and his wingspan is wider than Tremaines. He ran a slightly slower 40 but displays better lower body explosion with a better broad jump than Maine. He also came in about 10 lbs heavier than he played, so he is probably closer to a 4.5 than a 4.6. If we do move on, this is the type of guy the regime would target to replace him. HT: 6-3 1/2 WT: 250 ARMS: 34 5/8 HANDS: 10 1/4 40: 4.57 (4th among LBs - tie) BENCH: DNP VERTICAL: 37.5 (4th among LBs) BROAD: 128 (4th among LBs - tie) I also hope we give a long look to Troy Andersen. He has a lot of really interesting traits. He is faster than Smith and just as explosive as Smith, not as long and much more raw. Smith is more refined and has a thicker build.

Yep for sure better than me, at football for sure
-
I just hope he doesn’t leave any streaks on my windshield
-
As a return guy I suppose. I don’t see it with him. Yep I agree. Kirk is the guy who fits the best imo.

Here’s a couple of moves that make sense to me.

Yep that would totally suck -
I just don’t think Berrios adds the electricity to the offense Kirk would. I’d much rather have Kirk for slightly more. Maybe Berrios come with CMC and the Culpo sisters. That would be cool.
-
Kirk is so much better than Berrios. It isn’t even close.
-
I agree with you. All that kumbaya stuff is semantics now. Everything is all about Josh Allen and adding high level talent. And Josh is the glue. You don’t need culture guys anymore, because he is the culture.

Yeah I have a hard time spending a ton on a free agent receiver with the strength of this draft and the presence of Gabe Davis. But Kirk hits a little different. He’s a really good fit and you are essentially giving him what you paid Beasley, Feliciano, and McKenzie combined last year. I’d rather just have Kirk. And we paid Sanders 6 million. -
I played it at a relatively high level and have been coaching the position at the varsity level for 14 years. I can talk about hand placement, steps, leverage all that stuff. I’ve been at clinics studying Mouse McNally, Pat Flaherty, and whole host of college guys. I’m not an ego guy, but I know line play. I’m a Feliciano hater, so not trying to come off as a jerk, but I am not a fan. For culture and stuff? Sure. But ability? Nah. Morse was pretty good imo. And Brown was super up and down, but you could see the potential there. Williams was meh. It think that is where the upgrade comes. I think he becomes a high quality backup to whoever replaces him. Feliciano def helped change the culture for sure. But now it’s time to add talent to get this team over the hump.
-
I get it. I’m an Oline guy. He sucks.
-
I am interested to see how it goes in terms of what he gets paid. I think he definitely becomes a NYG but there are waiver wire guys who are just as good as him imo.
-
Rosterbating here, but how about #25 and Tremaine for #40 and DK? It lets the Hawks come back into the bottom half of the first to grab a QB and they would still have a second rounder.
-
There are like 20 guys in the draft with C/G flexibility. Plus you have Bates and could re-sign Boettger, both guys can play both guard and center. Plus there are a ton of guys with that flexibility who are free agents including Aaron Kromer guys Austin Corbett, Austin Blythe, and Brian Allen. Mongo won’t be missed imo and is a league minimum guy.
-
I don’t care about this. I hope it makes the WTF non tender Kyle Allen so he can be a long term backup to josh. It also means Brandon Scherff ain’t going back there. And they may have to cut Matt Ioannidis. So that would interest me.
-
There is no way he was offered a pay cut and refused. He’s a vet min guy imo

Per Adam Schefter: Cowboys likely to release Amari Cooper
MrEpsYtown replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not a Cooper guy, but I would be interested in Demarcus Lawrence -
I guess he helped with culture, and had a cool nickname and tattoos. But he was bad. Good luck in your future endeavors
-
I’m going Chandler Jones and Akiem Hicks
-
100%. Go play with a competent coach, a really good o line, and a running game.
-
I am sure there is more out there, but that's what I was able to find. Max Borghi - RB Washington State is an interesting guy. He's similar to a Jerick McKinnon in that he can really catch the football. He would be an interesting complimentary back to work with Singletary. I like some of those interior guys. Jurgens and Bruss are some nasty guys who play with an edge and Zion Johnson is a high RAS guy.

So many declarative statements. I hope people come back and eat crow. And stop name calling and stuff. What are we? 12?
