  1. I dunno. I feel the Pegulas picked McDermott. Didn’t Whaley want Hue Jackson or something?
  2. 100%. Drafting off ball linebackers in the first round leads to having to pay them 13 million on a fifth year option. Off ball linebacker is becoming a position you don’t draft in the first round. Outside of the elite guys, no one else really makes money at that position.
  3. I don’t think height matters in his case. He has tremendous footwork and athleticism and he plays with leverage. He can pull and reach etc. That is typically the issue with the taller guys, that they can’t bend. But Doyle was a hockey player. He can bend at the knees. Morse is 6-6, he is the tallest center in the league. It doesn’t matter as long as your QB is tall enough to see over the guys. I guess my philosophy when it comes to offensive line play is you play the 5 best guys. If we lose Bates, Doyle becomes top 5 right now. They probably see him as the swing guy, 6th linemen. But if they can’t add, I have no doubt he could play there. I’m sure they will add a guy in the first three rounds of the draft.
  4. Terrible pick. Set us back 4 years. But be careful becuase you may start the “Buddy Nix picked EJ debate”
  5. From what I understand the Bears and Vikings are looking at Bates as a center. In terms of the Pats, I have no idea. Tretter probably signs with the Bears or Vikes imo.
  6. Kupp was just older when he came into the league. 23-24, whereas Woods had just turned 21 or something like that.
  7. I think a number of things kept Bates on the bench. First off, this regime is very loyal to the players, sometimes to a fault. Think about how spotty Gabe Davis’ playing time has been. The dude has made a huge impact in a low amount of snaps. Feliciano was a Bobby Johnson guy Daryl Williams was a McBeane guy. Also, I think they became enamored with Ike Boettger after the Chiefs claimed him. Once they knew the Chiefs wanted him, I think they just felt like they had a steal. That and Cody Ford is what cost us Wyatt Teller. Now if it were me, I would have started Bates and LG and Boettger at RG to start the year. But we never saw that becauce Bates really didn’t get his shot until 100 people had Covid and Boettger got hurt.
  8. In my mind he is responsible for the Marronne years drafts. Robert Woods, Kiko Alonso, Nikell Robey, Sammy Watkins 🤮, Ronald Darby. Those three drafts. After that, Rex was really in control.
  9. Lorax, Incognito, and Tyrod were all just guys Rex Ryan wanted. So I am not sure I can give him credit there, at the same time I don’t blame him for the Shaq Lawson and Reggie Ragland picks because again that’s what Rex wanted.
  10. Bounced around the league, last played with the Chargers CoVID season. He made a cool 8 million. Not bad for an UDFA
  11. Maybe he will trade us TJ Watt for Shaq Lawson? He looks good off the bus.
  12. The team to worry about is the Bears. Vikings don’t have much cap and the Pats have some, but do have a bunch of holes on their roster. Bears are sitting on like 30 million. So to me, they are the team to watch. Also, the Browns releasing JC Tretter actually helps us as he trumps Bates a bit.
  13. I still don’t know why they drafted him. WR Darnell Mooney went a few picks later. They could have drafted S Kamren Curl, or maybe RB James Robinson or punters Braden Mann or Tommy Towsend. But it is what it is.
  14. Jurgens had some really good testing numbers, so he fits the high RAS conversation. Johnson does as well. Cole Strange is an interesting guy, as a small school guy, he shined at the Senior Bowl tested really well RAS wise. I like him a lot and I hope they met with him.
  15. Cam Jurgens - C/G Nebraska Logan Bruss - C/G Wisconsin Zion Johnson - C/G Boston College Lecitus Smith - G Virginia Tech Dohnovan West - C/G Arizona State Kenyon Green - C/G Texas A&M
  16. Has to be drafting a guy, because the guard market is pretty much dried up. I could see teams that signed guys maybe willing to trade their holdovers, say like the Panthers who signed Bozeman and Corbett. Perhaps they are willing to move 2021 draft pick Brady Christensen, high RAS guy who we could stick in at RG. Perhaps Christensen for AJ Epenesa, who would fit in well as a 5 tech in their 3-4. The Bills have met with a lot of IOL so far this year. So the answer likely comes in the draft.
  17. I think he is the best guard left for sure. I am not sure if he gets 5 million. I was thinking in the 4s. And my guess is that he isn’t a Giant because he isn’t a Bobby Johnson guy as evidence that he rode the pine so long, and clearly is better than the guys he was sitting behind.
  18. Hernandez has some interesting traits in his game. I just think the Giants were a dumpster fire. I like his upside and he is actually very atletic, especially for his size. In terms of Doyle, movement and agility as well as power in his game is fine. It is a very small sample of his play last year, but I like what I saw from him blocking wise. If Kromer’s addition means more stretch and zone stuff, he’d be excellent in there at RG. Almost all of his agility scores coming in are as good or better than Ryan Bates. He is a little heavier, but also a little taller. Having a 6-8 guard isn’t typically the norm, but there have been guys in the past and we have a 6-6 center and a massive QB. He only scored 24 on the bench, but when you consider his 35 in arms, he is fine there. I like him in there if they lose Bates.
  19. If Ford has to play we will definitely need Keenum, and probably Barkley. Quick note, if Bates goes I would try to sign Will Hernandez. Also, I am likely alone on this island, but I think Tommy Doyle would be fine at guard.
  20. Azrael, i mean er, Teddy Bridgewater. And then he will be broken as well.
  21. He would have been drafted if he came out today. Back in the day they wouldn’t draft small run and shoot guys like him. But air raid sounds cooler.
  22. I think it is valid, but typically with guys who have been around as long as Keenum, and around so many teams like Keenum, can pick up concepts pretty easily. Any QB room with Josh Allen in it is the best QB room in the league.
  23. I’m guessing Beasley and to a certain extent Star were a holes.
  24. I definitely hate it for that contract, so I am assuming they restructure or extend.
