  1. And Lamar gets a game against Cleveland. Whereas Allen will likely be sitting. It's possible because Allen would not be impressive in beating two bottom feeders (assuming he struggles against NYJ). Meanwhile, Lamar would be excellent in beating two playoff teams on national TV. Allen sitting week 18 while Lamar gets to pad his stats doesn't help either. I hope the team keeps out only the most injured players in week 18.
  2. It would be infuriating to see Allen not win MVP and the team not make the SB. A double whammy.
  3. This. Needs 3 total TD's minimum. No picks. Just an overall great game. Unfortunately, if it's a repeat of the NE game, it's going to be very tough for him to win.
  4. Two years ago...Mahomes
  5. IF he puts up big numbers.
  6. Stroud has been a huge disappointment in 2024. Seems to have been figured out.
  7. If Allen struggles against the Jets, his mvp chances are pretty much gone. I'm a Bills fan. But you can't not be great against two bottom feeders. It depends on how Lamar performs the rest of today and against Cleveland. Remember, Lamar has to play against Cleveland. They must win. Both are deserving and either winning isn't a huge issue.
  8. Sunday will determine the MVP imo. Allen needs at least 4 total TD's. This has to be a blowout win with great stats. You can't struggle against two bottom feeders while the other guy is elite against two playoff teams. Here's another issue: The Bills win Sunday. OK. They got the two locked up. Lamar still needs to play and beat Cleveland. So....Allen could be resting while LJ is beating up on Cleveland.
  9. OK. But they aren't resting starters against the Jets. And...many fans do care if he wins MVP.
  10. Gotta start to wonder if Stroud will make a jump next season. He has definitely regressed. Welp...at least Allen has a chance to end the MVP race once and for all with an amazing performance vs NYJ.
  11. Patriots gave us a beatdown way more consistently than KC has. Like embarrassing losses. They also got a bunch of calls. Hate the Patriots more for making our difficult seasons even more ugly. I hate the Chiefs for getting in our way to at least one lombardi. The only way to get by KC is ensuring we have a two score lead with two minutes to go. Letting the refs get involved or Mahomes having the ball last with a chance to win is asking for it. We need to be aggressive and go for a few 4th and short downs. The Bills have definitely stood a chance against KC. I think that is what's so irritating. It's not like they are blowing us out. It makes me angry that we can solve them in the regular season but never when it actually matters. Patriots...yeah we weren't good enough for them to get in our way to a SB.
  12. Texans were a SB contender to start the year. They turned out to be frauds too. There's only three legit AFC contenders. Us, KC, Baltimore. But...watch out for Cincinnati if they make it.
  13. We can't go by hypothetical.
  14. If Baltimore loses (fat chance), you still gotta play starters. Can't rest for two straight weeks. But I'd definitely rest in NE and ruin their draft spot. Yeh but NE has worse receivers. And they were a problem against us. Jets receivers will cause any DB's issues.
  15. Even if Baltimore loses, resting starters for two weeks would be disastrous imo. Because how many times do we see teams rest players and come out flat for the first playoff game?
  16. Than Baltimore will get the two seed. And Allen's MVP chances are gone. There's no way in hell this team is resting anyone against the Jets if the two seed is still at play.
  17. In the end, losses to Houston & Rams came back to haunt this team. Specifically, the Texans game.
  18. His prime/HOF years were in Philadelphia. In reverse, Von isn't the 3rd or 4th best Bill at the position. His HoF legacy was built and cemented in Denver.
  19. Most of these are correct. Allen is more talented than Jim. But 4 straight SB's is unheard of. Kelly>Allen.
  20. This. The only way we win the SB is by beating great teams. For sure, we will need to beat Baltimore & KC (pending upsets) to get to the SB. Then, will need to likely beat Phi or Det. Nobody wins a SB beating cupcakes.
  21. Which might be beneficial.. Injuries can happen at any time. Resting guys too long can be disastrous.
  22. No. Even if the two seed is locked in stone, you can't rest guys for two straight weeks. It increases the likelihood of a first round loss. Rust is a real thing. Rest starters against NE? OK fine.
  23. Absolutely. Few things are against Lamar: Allen beating KC/Detroit The AFC title game And the reverse last year where Allen had better stats but LJ was a one seed. All Allen needs to do is ball out against a Jets team not playing for anything.
  24. Voters will look at it differently. Allen needs one more big game imo. The hope is the team rebounds from the uninspired game yesterday and blows the Jets out. They can rest starters in week 18.
  25. If Lamar wins Wednesday & Allen struggles against the Jets, Lamar will likely win MVP. You can't ignore one guy playing well against two playoff teams while the other struggles against two bottom feeders. The Detroit game will be a distant memory. As a Bills fan, and being objective, I'd vote for Lamar in that case. If Lamar loses Wednesday, they still need to play starters against the Jets. You can't be resting guys for two straight weeks before the postseason begins. That's historically how one seeds would get upset. Speaking of Lamar losing Wednesday, that might wrap up the MVP race if Allen plays well against the Jets. Bottom line is no matter what, we can't have backups playing the entire game against the Jets. Too much rust. Teams who win three SB's in a 5 year span will get the benefit of the doubt compared to a team that hasn't even come close to making the SB.
