I actually like Daboll!

I love the condescension, keep it up. Bills fans are just tired of watching other games and feeling like the Bills are so far behind the rest of the NFL that they are playing an entirely different sport. -
I was very wrong about Tyrod & have to own it.

Nah. TT was in the 35-30 range, at best. There were easily 30 QBs that no team would have traded straight up for TT. Great job of illustrating how "garbage time" in losses can grossly exaggerate production. -

And the Bills would still lose 28-6. -

The bar was 56 yards passing for an entire game. Not to mention all of the other missed opportunities he left on the field during the season. Carolina, Cincinnati, and the New England games also come to mind. TT was able to pull it together twice against the Dolphins, I suppose. Here's a fun game -- name Tyrod's "signature" throw from last year. There isn't one. When the decision was made, it was unlikely that NP was going to be worse than that. Now, we all know that he managed to beat the odds and found a way to pull it off. Also, how would people who "hardly follow" the Bills "just know" anything at all about their back-up QB? This is false, false, false. Mobile QBs who take forever to read the defense and throw the football almost always make O-lines look far worse than they really are. This isn't my opinion, it's a fact. 1. Holding on to the ball too long gives extra time to the pass rush. The problem there should be self-explanatory. 2. Their inclination to move around and scramble means that lineman have no idea where the QB is going to be or go on any given play. This causes issues because the oncoming pass rush CAN see the QB and can react accordingly, meaning they have an advantage over the O-line. This results in lots of sacks and holding penalties. So, this idea that TT would somehow improve the pass protection is not even close to reality. Also, Josh Allen has more than proven to be every bit the "running threat" that Tyrod was. -

The True reason to fire McDermott

I wonder if those numbers have anything to do with the defense being more concerned with trying to prevent 350 yards passing & 4 TDs, plus the fact that the best offenses are more likely to be running out the clock at the end of games. Everything revolves around the passing game now. Those quick hitters for 5-7 yds are the new "running game". Guys like Edelman & Thielen have replaced the workhorse RB. Snap, take a step, throw. Stupid teams smash the ball right into the middle of the line for a yard or two half the game. Smart teams get the ball downfield. -

Maybe hire a coach & GM that will actually go out and make obtaining these players the top priority, instead of wasting time drafting DBs. I agree with all of the Allen points, however... maybe time, draft capital, and cap resources should have mostly been poured into the offense, so that the very-limited rookie QB that is literally going to make or break this franchise has a solid group to work with from day 1. Between the situation they dropped their most important asset into & the bizarre devotion to Peterman, I think very serious discussions concerning McD & B's future with the team are absolutely warranted. If I'm the owner -- It's game over for McD & B unless there are several legitimate signs of improvement between now and January. -

Which immediately proves they have no idea what they are doing in the modern NFL. -

Yes, waiting 15-20 years for the Bills to be innovative & entertaining is soooo "entitled millennial". Fixed it for you. -

The fact that it is 2018 & not 1985. The winner of the game is determined by who scored the most points. So, build a team that is designed to score as many points as possible. For ****'s sake, I've had it with the "DEEEEEEFESNE WINZ CHAMPIONSHIPS" & "RUNNNNN THE BALL" nonsense. Throw quickly & often, score 28+ every week & you will beat the stupid teams like the Bills that are busy calculating "field position". Well, the solution is to stop hiring bad ones that don't have any idea how to run an innovative, modern offense. The real mistake is to waste another year or two on a clueless fossil like McDermott. With the wrong people, all "continuity" gets you is more losses. -

They were right to see what they had in NP last year. Taylor was a mess and something had to be done. I don't blame them for starting NP last year. However, after what we've seen since then -- it's inexcusable that NP is still on this roster and when considered in the context of the current state of the QB position, it should really give the owners reason to start to seriously consider dismissal. -

Just to be clear -- I still don't want TT back here & I'm glad he found his spot on the bench in Cleveland. He's a career backup with a very low ceiling. However, at least he belongs on an NFL roster and is probably in the 35-40 range at the position. DA & NP are best suited for retirement & Hunt Real Estate, respectively. Like I said, I was wrong about how bad it could get -- not my assessment of TT as a QB. He is what he is. With Tyrod, you probably lose 17-5 instead of getting blown out. Taylor's blowout losses generally came against the teams with winning records. However, at least he kept the team from total humiliation. DA & NP are punchlines. That's how low the bar is around here. Taylor was a bad starting QB, but he was at least a somewhat respectable -- yet, desperate -- option for a struggling team. -
Bring Tyrod back and run the wishbone. The Bills could be the Naval Academy of the NFL.

Is this a serious question? For the past 15 years, there are teams that are always "in the hunt" for a title. New England, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, etc. There's a reason for that -- they don't "hope" to win games. They have offenses capable of taking the game over and ensuring the desired outcome. The Bills are once again doing it backwards.
-
It's not. You'll get a team that catches the right breaks and makes it work for a season or maybe two -- ie, Denver & Seattle. However, for true sustained success you have to build an offense that can light up the scoreboard. It is the only way to win consistently. I know, I know... it's an odd approach to put your resources into scoring for a game that determines the winner by who has the most points at the end of the game.

Exactly. I'd like to see the guy they identified as the "franchise" QB at least execute a real NFL passing play once or twice every game. Our standards aren't exactly high around here.
