  1. Totally agree with all of that. My point is that you are likely going to see Beasley standing by Josh all season long and part of that is him lobbying for the ball.
  2. After the Under Armor but before the jersey, helmet and cleats.
  3. Beasley is one of those receivers that thinks/says he is open every single play and constantly lobbies the QB. That is not necessarily a bad thing at all in a WR but it needs to be tempered at times, and not everyone can do that. It's amazing how often that happens though in NFL.
  4. Yep. One of the several things that could kill him and his possible ascent to being a reliable starting NFL WR is getting full of himself after last year and just thinking that he has to just play and he will be good. It's wise to light a fire under him and to not let him think he has arrived. Different players need different motivating of course.
  5. Except that they handed the #2 pick Cody Ford the job. And they handed Tremaine Edmunds the job last year.
  6. Right. But it didnt matter who the guy was or how much they had to pay him, not having a real QB coach AND no veteran presence in the room whatsoever, not to mention it was NPP (Nathan Freakin' Peterman) who was the veteran that Josh was able to turn to before they brought in Derek Anderson was simply brutal. And a bunch of us complained about it as it was happening not just in retrospect.
  7. Or when he was passing around a football and only wanted the black players to sign it and didn't want Andre Reed to because he was mulatto (I believe his mom is white IIRC).
  8. He was extremely good and effective here in those two years. Defenses respected him a lot and he made a ton of big plays. The guys who are thought of as good or valuable and who really werent were Beebe and MacKellar. Beebe did next to nothing for the snaps that he got. You could say that teams had to respect his speed and I am a believer in that but they didnt play the Bills that way, like shade a safety over all the time because they worried about Beebe, they worried about Lofton (after Andre of course). It's also very, very hard to look at a WR corps at as a whole in retrospect just looking at rosters unless you spend a lot of time on context. Some guys are hurt or old or too young or not playing or the offense didnt feature them or they didnt explode until their fifth year or whatever.
  9. It is actually dereliction of duty to have drafted Josh Allen and to then have surrounded him with a defensive HC, David Culley as the QB coach, Nathan Peterman and AJ McCarron (and then trade McCarron before the season started, not that he was a good player). It was criminal. Not to mention the WR they surrounded him with. Having Dorsey and Barkley there is an enormous difference. Daboll has the whole offense to worry about.
  10. Josh? Yeah, Allen got it, too.
  11. Very good article, and adds to an enormous amount of respect I have for Mitch Morse. Our best FA signing for sure, will be extremely important for Josh, and I really liked everything I heard him talk about in interviews before I knew anything about this. I dig the huge nasty monster on the field and sincere empathetic guy off it. There are a lot of them. Great signing by Beane and Company.
  12. I think Gore can add a lot to this team. We need a battering ram, short yardage guy, goalline guy, someone good at pass protection, etc. I wasn't thrilled with the Singletary pick right when it happened but I like him now, and the three of them are going to be tough to game plan against. The one thing interesting to me is if McDermott wants to keep the ST dude or Yeldon on the game day roster. Yeldon throws another wrench into the three headed monster as a very good pass catcher.
  13. Can't wait to see what Christian Wade will do in a regular season ruck or a maul.
  14. I said Brown but I don't think any of them are going to even approach 1000, and that doesn't mean we won't have a good pass offense. I could easily see Brown, Beasley, and Foster all getting 700-800 and maybe even Zay having a bunch. The WR by committee approach will probably serve them pretty well, especially due to quickness and speed, not to mention that we really don't have a good TE even with Kroft.
  15. Probably by necessity, because of Lara Kroft's injury, the Bills will keep four TEs to start the season. Depending on who they want to keep as the 6 WR (if at all), they may keep four the whole year. Kroft, Smith and Knox are all but locks for different reasons. To me, they keep Sweeney over Croom if only because Knox and Croom have the same skill set and there is no need for two TEs that at this time in their career cannot block inline and scare no one as a inline or split out dual threat.
  16. Yep. It will be very interesting to see how Daboll divvies up the reps. Kroft being out may also make us use more four wide one RB formations, too, with Foster and Zay, obviously especially on passing downs but maybe on first, too.
  17. I'm not a big Zay Jones fan, and I do like Foster, but this is probably a wise decision. It worked last year motivating Foster when he got cut earlier. Make him fight and earn the reps and balls. Start Zay off with some confidence in him; his problem at times.
  18. It's okay, he said that when Chris Brown was hired for the first time, too.
  19. That would have been an almost expected post from a Josh fan. But from a Josh critic it is an excellent one. I find it hard for anyone to watch the games from last year and not see him swarmed immediately a huge portion of the time, and still trying to make a play. That is the reason for his completion percentage more than inaccuracy.
  20. Tasker is awful on substance, too. He knows football but he very often says, "Watch this" and you watch and it is that.
  21. Peterman has not slung one dime in his life. Wooden nickel maybe.
  22. Wouldn't be a bad idea to have Gore, Smith and Knox split up the FB on the field plays that Daboll wants to run. It would save a roster spot, and provide for a little more versatility after the snap.
