  1. I must have named every bust we cut early.. like 15 dudes from the past season. That's a lot of sadness to burden. FYI I was going for laugh rep points, thanks for acknowledging I suck at least I made the post everybody can agree with. Peterman made me not want Peterman on the Bills. Thus I was named. If ya love Peterman, remember he created my monster account alter ego. If ya don't think he's good. Ya always have PT5P in your corner.
  2. We had quite the debate on whether we should be openly mournful for a backup Quarterback. Don't read it.
  3. Didn't even read it lol. Answered the thread title only. Because I likely knew the following paragraph would just elaborate a simple question
  4. His actions let every owner know not to franchise tag their player twice in a row knowing they're going to be pissed off enough to move on at any expense. The Steelers got through by the skin of their teeth being excellent drafters. I think teams will seriously hesitate using it twics knowing what Bell set as precedent.
  5. I was considering making the joke about all for the POTUS until this broke. Nevertheless on a football forum this is much worse.. we can all agree Mahomes winning the NFL MVP is the biggest slap in the face to people that appreciate a fine steak over McDonald's ever.
  6. Yep... I knew this thread was going to suck. We don't do well with hypotheticals about the past. We're not exactly the type for sober reflection of the past Bills lol. Everybody's got a very strong option the drought would have broken any season "if XYZ happened'
  7. Probably the most pissed I've ever been as a Bills fan the second this broke lol Inspired me to create an account. So Peterman created me. And I suck on this board. Way to go Pete.
  8. I would be mortified if those were our first 3 picks haha
  9. CBSsports power rankings guy says "McDermott is doing phenomenal as a coach with the talent he has" Not sure how I feel about having that said on 2-7 team if I believe it. Means without having the coach of the year good god we're horrible.. I want a medium: rookie coach improvong not perfect. Roster improving not perfect.
  10. Wow.. honestly.. how many people get away with it? If this guy gets caught I bet there's 10 getting away with it for every one that doesn't.
  11. Thanks man. 3rds are worth a ton I guess that's why KB or Tyrod are worth a sure bet at getting Montana. Hell 6ths are better cause they always get Brady AND I'M NOT FACT CHECKING MINOR DETAILS damn. If I said Brady was a 4th you'd just jump on that like it makes the point any different. I'm sorry I guess we had 4, or 3 who cares we HAD A LOT of 3s. I I'm not going to pff for a Tyrod hypothetical. CAUSE IT'S A HYPOTHETICAL. I'm arguing about timing and number of draft picks like a nerd. C'mon Alphadog this ain't the OP. Just acknowledge it was possible to have the 3 together. Tell me it was remotely possible lmao. Are 2 3rds better than 1 2nd? Are 9 7ths better than 2 1sts? Discuss: with every player ever selected in those rounds lol. Have fun pondering that and arguing about it endlessly
  12. Ah the perfect post. Start the best players at each position, let them earn their job. Nothing's handed to you (or should be at least). What happens?? They learn to compete! They see their best efforts come to fruition! One thing hurts more than the other helps.
  13. I think he's been a backup most of his career lol he literally is a proven backup no matter what happens going forward. Been in the league like 9 years. That's like saying Matt Moore isn't a backup. We always gotta speak so damn unequivocally like there's no granular degree of talent. You either shouldn't be on a roster or you're an all-pro. There's 53 spots to fill!
  14. Lol I"m aware we didn't make every trade instantaneously. Beane had like 5 different 3rd round picks for that draft at various points some of them don't get tossed around in a draft salad and it's not hard to find a point in the year where we had a 3rd to trade without Tyrod. Like getting KB when we wouldn't pay Watkins both dudes drafted in the same year.. what were we purposefully looking for a cheaper crappier receiver. This thing''s a hypothetical. We could have Tyrod and the 2 firsts no KB and basically have Tyrod for a year. Or no Phillips. Either scenario wouldn't change the team much BECAUSE THEY'RE THIRDS AND NOT WORTH THAT MUCH. THAT'S WHY TYROD AND BENJAMIN ARE THE GOING RATE. They're not hard to get... As Beane proved lol. It's not like he didn't plan to make all those moves in a sequence you know when he is giving up at 3rd for KB he'd want another one back 1sts are super valuable.. we had 2.. that was like 90% of the Edmunds coup. Tyrod's return just greased the deal. For most of the draft swap salad it was very possible that we ended up with Tyrod, Edmunds, and Allen. In a parallel universe he's Quarterbacking virtually the exact same talent on offense and going 7-9 as we call for his head as he sucks and we don't make playoffs. My answer to the thread lol
  15. Yeah I suspected it was more than a dumb coat thing. Doubt he drops either He's definitely pulling a Jadaveon and they've lost twice with him out, so I can see why Applewhite is ticked. Idk man I know the bottom line for a college coach is winning, but they gotta know their 1st round draft grade guys need to go without injury. Cardale shoulda left when he had a first round grade after what. 2 games? Lienart shoulda left when he had a better grade too. No reason not to.
  16. How often do coaches do that! That's insane. Pro coaches don't make these stupid stands. When they do they look like ***holes, Jim Mora trades away Marshall Faulk to make a point when he's like 30 seconds late to a meeting. Those coaches are idiots. Like.. McDermott can draft him and just don't take his damn clothes off. Dude, that would piss off 90% of people in ANY situation. You're already wearing the damn clothes and some jack*** is grabbing you and forcibly removing it. EDIT: Nevermind I got my facts a little dramatic. It's still a dumb "I'm in charge" move that I hate seeing in coaches whose job is to win football games, not ego battles.
  17. I don't think these vets transfer as much as we think they do to the rookie quarterback. I mean they can simply help him out in film, and show him how a veteran lasts 15 years in the league by staying professional and focused. Outside of that, it's not like Anderson is teaching him his playing style from throwing to Braylon Edwards 10 years ago. Dissecting 10 year old Browns seasons lol. It helps.. a little, don't see how it hurts at all.
  18. If he falls because he got mad at Major Applewhite being a dumb*** and trying to take his jacket off of him in the middle of the game.. I'd take him. That ain't no prima donna that's just a grown man taking issue to someone taking clothes off of him. I don't know if he has any others, but that's funny and I don't fault Oliver for that at all. The only narrative I see is he's taking off games to stay healthy, and that turned out alright for Jadaveon Clowney. Sometimes these trenchmen are gearing for the next level and are all the more focused to succeed. For all the Dareus's and Haynesworth's, you want your DLs to have an edge you got Sapp, Clowney, Suh.. total knuckleheads that are nasty and don't need any motivation other than hating quarterbacks lol. I'd love a monster DT again.
  19. Yeah, it's a game of attrition when 2 defensive oriented teams duke it out, and Allen played those games exactly the way you want him to play knowing you're up against a stout defense and have 2 lesser offenses. Moreso the Titans game. I think of that as a blueprint for how we get things done against bottom tier teams next year. That's basically what the Jags did to us before making a run. 2 very similar teams. JA can beat them and we got something going here. And against the better offenses a defense doesn't always show in the regular season, but you can see the difference when the Patriots can outgun the Chiefs when no defense exists, and then they hit brick walls against the usual suspects: the Titans, the Jags, the Lions, all defensively oriented, and not exactly great. I want to see the Bills finally beat these jacked up offenses with a decent offense of their own to frustrate a team that's only good at one thing and bang away at their defense that suck at playing down in score. The blueprint and really my only faith in Beane's rebuild.. He's building from the defense, and I'll always be 100% on board with that. Loved me the 2014 Bills. Can't take that from Whaley. We just gotta have the stars align and have a top 10 offense while we still have the defense. And Allen's at least showed he can fit that blueprint with the Titans. That's why the Rams, Chiefs, Chargers, and Saints all got it coming together. 2 with historically good defenses (Rams and Chiefs) that got supercharged on offense, and vice versa for the other 2. It ALWAYS comes together when the better defensive teams hurdle the regular season and make waves in the playoffs ie. Vikings, Eagles, Jags last year. When it's one and done, it's a LOT easier to smash them on the defensive side of the ball as the offensive juggernauts have everything to lose on any given play and get frustrated when they don't have much to gain. It's why the Bills couldn't beat the likes of Rypien and Hostetler soundly with Kelly.. ran into a great defense and just lacked too much on their own side. Obsv Cowboys too.
  20. haha Orakpo on that Titans roster. He's been criminally underrated for as long as he's been good in the league and always is on a good defense when he's playing, barring like 2 bad redskins seasons. Titans defense is the real deal, I could see a run in the playoffs before losing to a more balanced Chiefs or Chargers team. They'd own the Steelers same way Jags did. Steelers run up against a good DC in the playoffs and they always get punched in the mouth. Geez the AFC is WEAK this year.
  21. Your team is horrible man. Show up to the draft next year you ain't getting there with your QBs.. and I HATE 2 QB leagues too. Bad team. Bad League.
  22. He looks just like Peyton Manning did post MVP year. Getting by on a weak arm that's gonna fall apart real quick next year. First time I've called the downfall of Brady so I haven't been wrong on that yet lol. He's always been noodly though if Beli finds a way to stack the roster with good YAC recievers he can dink and dunk a decent offense for as long as the refs are going to leave him untouchable.
  23. Oh Limas. One of those good college players you watch enough to know he had bust written all over him. I'm struggling to think of the best active NFL Texas alumn.. used to bang Jamaal Charles' drum. Can't be Orakpo..? There's gotta be someone obvious I'm missing Nah it's Orakpo. They've caught quite the injury bug. Aaron Williams, Earl Thomas, Jamaal Charles, Kenny Vaccaro..
  24. The real question is if Tyrod makes us to the playoffs this year per the OP, to which you said yes right? Outside the OP I guess I agree but I just want young players learning how to win.. Tyrod doesn't prevent Edmunds: we wasted a 3rd on KB.. trading Tyrod for a 3rd and spending a 3rd on KB. It's a wash. We could have Tyrod and no KB and everything else the same. We had a crapload of 3rd rounders haha, a 3rd wasn't going to stop us from getting Edmunds and Allen. Tossing one at KB was a bad idea. Not a fan of the 3rd we used in the draft just yet either.
