  1. A perfect recap of his development. His mental side of the game is going to be as important as his physical side. This start surely isn't a plus.
  2. True and I'm hoping he can regain his 2019 pass defense which had a 76.3 passer rating. It's a big year for him this season and everyone knows it.
  3. Nix/Whaley should of traded back again into the 2nd round and drafted Zack Ertz. "Am I doing this right"?
  4. I had two older brothers who constantly threw stuff at me. I finally learned to catch the stuff instead of ducking. All that "training" really helped me catch a football. LOL. Knox Training Exercise............
  5. Last year he was 10th in the league in Combined Tackles (125) so I guess he can tackle. If the advanced stats say anything he was weak in pass coverage so if he improve there in the Bills D scheme maybe he's got a shot. Worse case he could be a veteran depth player on the PS (depending on the PS rules/etc this year). None of that makes me unhappy.
  6. The Webb/Fromm battle for #3 this year (and perhaps the #2 for next year) will at least make the 2nd half of the preseason games interesting. I got to admit I'm hoping Davis looks good.
  7. My hope for Sanders is that Josh's arm rejuvenates him for this year. His career started with Big Ben and Manning in the first 6 years and then for the past 5 he has had to catch balls from Lynch, Siemian, Osweiler, Keenum, Flacco, Garoppolo, Hill and a declining Brees. That's a pretty bad list. I'm hoping he is pumped up to catch passes from Allen and win another ring this year.
  8. Most likely. Still kind of weird and maybe a good thing for the young guys.
  9. Was at a sports bar in Colorado springs for this game. It was becoming a Bills bar but all the Donkey Fans were all in our face. What a great finish and a fun ride for all us Bills fans!
  10. Kind of crazy that all 4 of the DL no show players probably will not be on the team next year. LOL, maybe McDermott asked them to take "a couple of more days off" so they can look at all of the young guys! Either way the young guys will be filling "starting" roles in these OTAs. Imagine how it will be when the old timers finally show up. It could show the young guys how much they need to learn.
  11. I watched a lot of NO last year and Brees (even when not injured) was on a steep downhill slide. Sanders still was at a 75% catch rate. I know (and agree in theory) the Bills have a perceived "speed" need however Diggs, Sanders and Davis can all get deep. Long yardage receptions can come a lot of different ways and my hope is Daboll can scheme these guys route trees to give them all chances down field. If done properly it may even put more of a challenge against the free safety resulting in an increase of big yardage plays. At least that is my hope.
  12. I agree with you '98. Giving up a draft pick and his cap hit would not be worth it IMO. If he is cut and wants to sign for 1 year <$5M that's a different story.
  13. My point once again is about this statement. It is false.
  14. Yolo, technically Mahomes is playing on his 5th year option. THEN starting in 2022 is his 10 year contract. KC didn't take the whole 5th year option hit because they restructured. The unique deal about Mahomes contract is that it didn't have a big signing bonus. A lot of his guarantees are tied into roster bonuses and salary guarantees. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/kansas-city-chiefs/patrick-mahomes-21751/
  15. How Fromm and Webb play in the preseason games will be something fun to watch.
  16. My only decision that day will be to either watch the game at home alone or go to the local "mom and pop" owned sports bar I frequent. That place will easily be 75%+ patrons wanting the Bills to win. I am in Colorado!
  17. The whole NFL will be watching that game to see what happens. I also think the majority of the NFL fans will be wanting a Bills win. This board will be crazy that week. I can't wait!
  18. For sure and Brandon has said those exact words. Once again, let's see how KC handles all of this AFTER they start paying for their Franchise QB. KC has had a huge advantage over the league paying (in cap hits) $24M for 5 full years of QB play for Mahomes. Bills on the other hand have had $21.3M in cap hit with only 4 years of Allen. I say all of this only to explain to myself ( and other if they want to see it this way ) that the Chiefs are ahead of the game currently. They had a Division winning team when Mahomes got drafted (the Bills didn't). Next year the Bills can really close the gap or hopefully jump over them. Totally agree with the caveat that I think a 10 year contract is way too long and carries too much risk. I'm hoping for a 6 year contract with Allen. Nothing more than 7. A 4 year contract takes away what we are talking about and 5 is just "meh" with me.
  19. Exactly. KC is all in this year for a repeat SB win. I think that it's the wrong time for the Beane and the Bills to get into an "arms race" with them this year. However next year seems to me the proper time to add a few pieces to make the push. IMO (and I hope Beane's too).
  20. His recent "restructure" only pushed money out 5 years (that's the max that is allowed). The 10 year deal had nothing to do with it. He is playing on his 5th year option this year. Beane and the Bills could do the exact same thing next year IF they chose to do so with Allen. My point was to explain that the writer who is saying they have this "extra cap" WHILE paying a "Franchise QB Deal" at the same time is false. That bill plus the restructure starts coming due next year.
  21. That is not the prime reason for their cap space. Mahomes has a $7.4M cap hit this year. That was due to him restructuring his contract already in March of this year to clear $17.3M in cap in 2021. He has a $35.8M cap hit next year followed by $40M+ for years after that. The KC Chiefs have not had a true hit to his contract yet! So any talk about them doing what they have done has nothing to do with "Franchise Deal".
