Thanks for your service Cole. It is time to move on though. I see McKenzie starting in his place but another slot WR should be drafted. Get that speed guy.

That's a good point. I forgot about his dual role.

TE 1 and 2 are taken care of. Get a 6th, 7th or priority UDFA big blocking TE and things are looking great.

McKissinc changes mind, returning to Washington

He would of been a good fit in Buffalo. Back to the drawing board Mr. Beane! Let's get something even better. -
The little bit of restructuring that Beane is doing will not hurt anything future wise. I expect some more. One thing I have noticed is just about ALL TEAMS are using "restructure" this year. I expect that in the NFL GM world they all got a much better idea than us what the cap is going up to in the next 2 years. Just a comment about teams like the Saints. Adding too many void years over and over doesn't kick the can down to one future date. What I mean is they pay for their actions every year. Last year the Saints had $50M in Dead Cap. That's $50M they couldn't spend on players. This year after the dust settles it will be over $30M. Dead money is the "interest" paid for these moves. The "bottom line" cap number (plus or minus) can easily be managed but you do end up with a lot less of total money for contracts. This is not a negotiable opinion, it's a fact. Saints are the King of Dead Money and IMO Beane will not get into that mode.

No "dead money" is on its own.

Levi Wallace gone to the Steelers on 2-year deal
ColoradoBills replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm a little befuddled myself but........... First, Spotrac just uses past signing and "their" interpretation of a players skill. They are as close "in total" as any other site. Second, maybe Wallace didn't want to stay in Buffalo. Third, it could be that Beane and Company have a lot of rookies they are interested in that fit the system better for less $s. We all will have to wait to see what happens. It also could be that they have multiple CBs they feel they can draft by the 2nd round. -

I think there could be something to that. Anyway, it seems to me that after all the rookie "visits" that has happened Beane feels he has a couple of good draftable players. -
JD Mckissic to Bills 2 year, 7 million
ColoradoBills replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Which makes my point. Brieda was inactive all the time. Motor and McKissic will be active every game purely as RBs and the Bills need to combine the RB3 with ST skills. -

Looking at what his usage was in WAS last 2 seasons J.D. has half the total offensive snaps. I'm going to guess with his cost that he splits time pretty even with Motor. RB3 is going to need to be a ST player so I see Moss having a hard time making the cuts. -
DT DaQuan Jones to Buffalo, $3.58M cap this year
ColoradoBills replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
If the Bills signed Chandler Jones and played him at DT........................that would be bad. -
Bills sign DT Tim Settle, formally of Washington Commanders.

No, he's a minimum salary guy. Don't know about the status of his knee injury either. -

I still believe one way or another that Star will be gone before the season starts. -

Working alongside Jonathan Allen, Daron Payne and Matt Ioannidis, Settle has never played more than 364 defensive snaps in a season. However, he has shown enough in that limited role to be an intriguing offseason acquisition who could take on more snaps, earning PFF pass rushing grades above 70.0 in each of the past two years. Buffalo could be in need of some additions to its interior defensive line, depending on what happens with Harrison Phillips in free agency. At worst, Settle would be a relatively cheap depth piece with some upside. https://buffalowdown.com/2022/03/13/pff-picks-perfect-free-agent-match-buffalo-bills-offseason/ -
He will be an UFA next year so if he isn't a starter in Buffalo he will want to go somewhere that he has a good chance to be one. Bills need to find his replacement as a multiple backup this year and let him concentrate at RG. IMO
-
If my memory is correct isn't Bates the only backup C the Bills have? If he is a serious contender for a starting RG position, I would think another backup C/G player is needed.
