  1. And both of those were 4 and 1 inside the opponents 10 yard line I agree - these stats aren't of a team that likes to gamble on 4th down
  2. Nope - there are 8 writers (Chris Brown is not one of them) Ravens got 4 1st place votes Pats* got 1 SF got 1 GB got 1 and we got the last one
  3. In the SI power ranking Buffalo is ranked 12 - which is debatable but reasonable https://www.si.com/nfl/2019/11/19/nfl-power-rankings-poll-week-12-ravens-patriots-49ers The interesting part is 12. BUFFALO BILLS (7-3) Previous rank: 14 Points in poll: 170 Highest-place vote: 1 (1 voter) Lowest-place vote: 15 (2 voters) Last week’s result: Beat Miami, 37-20 This week: vs. Denver one of the SI writers put the bills as number 1 on the power ranking. As much as I love the bills and I think they can be ranked higher I'm also realistic and know they are not yet #1.
  4. Usually YouTube has the full game no commercials by Monday early morning (2am) and the condensed game (40min) by Tuesday morning
  5. The TV review on scores and turnovers and the ability to challenge is great - but the calls should be made clear to the audience - was the call not reversed because it is the right call according to the rules or not enough video evidence to reverse the call. A few calls yesterday were making me wonder - was I seeing things that the refs didn't? Do I not understand the rules? And the announcers (which were mentioned on s different thread) really do not help
  6. Some exceptions are logical and should be copied from the NBA (as much as I agree with you that it's way too complicated there). The Bird rule (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_salary_cap#Larry_Bird_exception) makes so much sense - allowing teams to get a discount on the cap to keep the veterans. These are the players that the fans love, the give the team its character, and the top execs who only look at the bottom line should have some incentive to do something for the fans.
  7. I'm specifically talking about star (or close to star status) players who expect bigger salaries and then leave their teams for bigger paychecks (which is fine, they should get whatever they are worth) but for us fans - the home team should get some kind of cap "discount" for making an effort and keeping them
  8. I think the NFL should address the issue also from a fans perspective - the fans want to cheer for the players that they know - cheering for a player one year and then booing him the next is not good for retaining fans They should give cap incentives to keep your own players - like after the first contract players that were drafter by a team count only 90% against the cap. Players (like KW for example) who played for over 8 years in the league and the last 5 for the same team should count only 75% against the cap if they sign with the same team This way it gives the teams incentives to keep and grow their own talent and gives the fans continuity
  9. Currently the schedule is made up of six games within the division 4 games against all teams in an AFC division (2018 will be the AFC South for us) 4 games against all teams in an NFC division (NFC North) and the last 2 games are against the 2 teams that finished in the same place in their respective AFC divisions (Chargers and Ravens) I think it would make for better games if instead of playing 4 teams from the NFC division a team should play the 4 NFC teams that finished in the same place in their NFC divisions. This way we would have good teams playing each other more often, Eagles - Steelers instead of Eagle-Indy and Steelers Bucs. It would even out the strength of schedule. Currently the Pats next year will play teams that in 2017 won a total of 114 games (Steelers 122). The Browns will play teams that won 134 games. If we lets the top team in each division play each other like suggested the Pats would play teams that won a total of 128 games (Steelers 133) and the Browns would play teams that won 116 games.
  10. Blake Bortles 13 ints - Alex Smith 5 The defence has a chance to make big plays in Jax
  11. It was 3am here when the Bengals scored and I woke up half the block with my yells!!!
  12. Refs on the field make errors and it evens out, but when the major calls are being decided by the same people in NY (or wherever) and the calls always fall in one direction - it makes you wonder...
  13. https://www.si.com/nfl/2017/11/13/chargers-philip-rivers-injury-update-concussion Does that mean he might not play?
