We always start games like this. Good opponent or bad opponent we start of cold. Let them in the game and then choke them out as the game goes on. I'd rather just beat them soundly for 4 quarters.

It's interesting the difference in perception between AJ and Groot. Groot was a 1st round pick, granted it was pick 30. AJ was a late 2nd and the difference between them from a pass rush perspective is about 2 sacks a year. We just resigned Groot to a fairly substantial multi year deal and most people want to get rid of AJ.

I was thinking what a huge defensive back .................... Von Miller is rocking #24 now I guess.

Jet's offense is unwatchable.

For his career Benford missed all the 2022 playoffs (and half the season), most of one game and all of the next in the 2023 playoffs, and then played 2 playoff games and missed most of the 3rd last year. So of the playoff games we've played since drafting Benford he's been available less than half the time. Sadly we probably have a number of players in much the same boat.

Didn't Benford end up on IR his rookie year? This is all eerily similar to the year we drafted Benford and Elam.

I'm not saying "most" Bill's fans aren't from WNY but i literally (two weeks ago) got back from a game where I not only went to the game but camped in a lot at the Stadium and there was a whole field of fans just from Toronto. Nothing but Ontario plates and Canadian flags. Wonderful people. Growing up in upstate NY I was actually an Expos fan. I guess times were different then. We didn't show our passport to go to Canada. We were neighbors and friends.

I always understood the talk about Bosa's injury history. Anyone who saw Bosa play against the Texans in that January playoff game just a couple months before he hit free agency would have seen a guy who could still play at a very high level. Miller was a big swing, Floyd more of a mercenary signing. Nobody was crying about Miller's injuries and Floyd had been relatively healthy yet both made little to no impact in the playoffs because of injuries. Point being every signing is a gamble. Bosa's contract makes him much closer to the Floyd signing than the Miller signing. If we can manage snaps and keep him healthy I think he could be the difference maker we've needed come playoff time.

To add to this it doesn't have to happen all the time. When you play light boxes and 1 gap everything even 1 or 2 guys missing an assignment a game can be 2 big runs. Add into that your safety (Rapp in particular) missing 1 or 2 tackles or taking a bad angle and not getting there at all and you have a handful of chunk running plays making your overall run defense look pretty bad.

We have faced Lamar, Fields, Tua, and Rattler. Minus Tua, who only had 10 yards, the rest of those QB's are running QB's and ran for 170 yards. If you take out the QB yardage we'd be right there with KC, Philly, or the Vikings. That's a very general statement but my guess is after playing King Henry and a slew of running QB's things should even out a little. I don't think we built this defense to stuff the run but I'd guess we will settle in to the middle of the pack instead of 2nd to last.

Trying to understand the numbers but if I got it right we'd still eat over 7 million in dead cap if we move on from Knox and we'd need another TE. Probably resign him to a lesser contract and kick the dead money down the road into it.

If I wanted a big slot to play behind Shakir I'd steal Nash off Atlanta's practice squad. Former QB with 6'3" size and enough quickness and size to be a problem out of the slot.

There's 4 DB who I wanted in a Bills uniform. I was really high on Amos but that didn't happen. I was really high on Mukuba who is now starting in Philly. The next two i wanted were Nohl Williams and Zy Alexander. Nohl is getting significant playing time in KC and looking really good. For some head scratching reason Alexander, as far as I know, isn't with anyone. Like you said he was here 2 or 3 days and played one preseason game. Looked as good in coverage as Strong did at the time and even forced a turnover.

Taylor has had some decent seasons. Last year was not one of them. I could see maybe a fourth if the coaches really thought they could coach him up. I'd much rather bring back Zy Alexander. As Far as Meyers, unless you thought he'd unseat Palmer I don't see the point of using a draft pick on him. Separation metrics might be one of the dumbest stats out there. Tons of great WR's have terrible separation metrics because they are X WR's who catch passes in tight coverage. Slot WR's and TE's routinely have great separation metrics because they have a two way run with routes and run tons of crossing routes and go in motion. I also had a nice chuckle reading about 2 pages back about how there was no way the offense could continue on like it did last year and here we are 4 weeks in and probably doing even a little better.

We stopped the run but our tackling is still suspect at best.

Did we still get charged a time out with that injury or did we use one before that?

Maybe we'll be on punter #3 by next week.
