  1. Not how I want to get in but I could see Baltimore's back ups beating the Steelers.
  2. I'm going to call it half time adjustments, things got a little better in the second half. Allen seemed to start hitting guys a little better in the second half (minus Diggs wide open deep). Why are swing passes to the RB and/or screen passes so hard for this team. We are straight up bad at the short passing game. Almost every throw is 10 yards or deeper. As some would note drops are a thing to go along with Allen missing guys or placing balls in hard to catch places. No one is going to call the passing offense surgical that's for sure.
  3. Knox had that thing fired at him. Still a drop but it was pretty hot. Allen needs to throw better. Our pass catchers, all of them Diggs included, have been dropping passes for a few weeks now.
  4. 1 drop doesn't make up for all the passes receivers dug off the ground or had to reach behind to catch and that's just the catches. If you can't see Allen has been off all game I'm not sure what you are watching.
  5. No doubt. Murray was the worst. Hopefully Allen the the pass catchers have it out of their system and can get on track.
  6. Run game is working fine. Probably better than you'd think against the Pats. Allen can't hit the broad side of a barn and throws the ball into double coverage to a TE on 1st down.
  7. Accuracy a little off we can survive but the horrible decision making is going to bite us in the butt.
  8. A double covered TE deep on first down (regardless of the penalty) is just a horrible choice.
  9. We have been mixing in a lot more man defense lately ...................
  10. I think the Ravens vs Miami game might weight in on this pretty heavily. Hill comes back and goes off. Lamar goes off. Hell even Mostert if he puts up big yards and a couple more TD's could be talked about. McCaffrey and Purdy will be talked about either way.
  11. .... but only if Purdy doesn't score a TD and put them ahead. If Purdy throws a TD and walks off and the Raven's score again and win none of Purdy's turnovers count.
  12. What in god's name are you talking about? It isn't a what if scenario if it actually happened. The Viking's game we turned the ball over and lost. The NE playoff game we didn't turn the ball over and we killed them. There's no "what if" scenario. Bronco's game, Jet's game, even the Eagles we turned the ball over and gave up easy scores and lost. You can argue the weight of the turnovers but you can't argue the fact that we turned the ball over and we lost. Like someone else said show me a game with no turnovers and I'll show you a win 94 percent of the time.
  13. I'm totally on board with this. I know some interceptions are the cost of doing business but there are games where you just need to come in and take care of business and turning the ball over gives them the chances they wouldn't otherwise have.
  14. The part that I'd emphasize also is that there's a good chance the Raiders don't score enough to beat the Chiefs if Mahommes doesn't throw them the ball twice.
  15. Don't give them free points and you don't have to think at all.
  16. So we are talking about things we could have done that would have kept them from scoring a field goal ................ because I can think of a couple.
  17. I'm trying to think if anything else might have helped? Like if the other teams offense got the ball already in scoring position. How would that happen?
  18. Pats and Broncos suck on offense ............. it's almost like something was helping them score points.
  19. If you watched the game then poor pass defense or not we had one good drive the whole first half and 6 of the 8 plays were rushing plays. We had one other TD in the first half and that was a one play broken scramble play drive. We put together another drive for a TD in the second half and 6 out the 10 plays on that drive were runs. I don't think it is as simple as saying statistically they are good or bad at something and therefore we will just do that and it will just work. Statistically we played a number of teams that should have been short work and we either had to pull it out in the 4th quarter or lost. Our pass protection wasn't great and Josh was back to holding the ball and waiting on guys to come open deeper and getting pressured a lot. Sometimes guys open up and TD(to Davis) and sometimes a guy comes open and between the pressure and the difficulty of the throw you just turn it over (Diggs).
  20. Just looking at the correlation for all the people who want to throw it all the time we are 2 and 5 when Allen throws it 38 times or more and 8 and 1 when he throws it less than 38 times. If you are going to throw it 40 or 50 times your short passing game better be an extension of your running game and our isn't. I've seen our passing game do it but even when it's there I don't trust Josh to take it enough to kill defenses with it. Inevitably he'll run away from someone and hit a long TD that no one else could throw but as exciting as it is I'm not sure it's a game plan. If we punished defenses with catch and run passes to Kincaid, Cook, and Shakir then Davis and Diggs wouldn't be fighting shell coverages every play.
  21. They constantly rush Miller off the left end. The few times they've moved him to the right side he looks much more effective. Didn't see him rush off the right side once yesterday.
  22. This It's probably the reason we won. We throw another 20 times instead of running and I'm guessing we have a lot more 3rd and longs and probably a couple more turnovers. The run game wasn't as explosive as the Cowboys game but we were grinding just fine.
  23. Almost anyone can see that Allen turns the ball over too much. Allen has a turnover in almost every single game. His big play ability trumps some of it but if Allen would just learn to take the easy stuff a little more often and stop throwing 15 yards down field into coverage we probably aren't fighting 3 and 8 teams for wins in the 4th quarter as often.
  24. Not at the game but everything you are saying here checks out after watching the game on TV. Thing is if your QB is banged up you'd like to lean on the running game and then your RB fumbles. Overall the defense played well enough, especially given the positions they were put in. What I wouldn't give for it to appear that Allen just naturally understood getting the ball out quicker. He seems back to running around passing up short easy passes for chances at bombs that sometimes work but frequently don't. I mean every pass play could be a 50 yard TD if you run scramble drill for 6 or 7 seconds but it's not a sustainable offense. Hit your guy (TE, RB, Slot WR) at 3 or 4 yards and let him run for a couple more and keep the chains moving. It seems like the less seriously we take the defense the less likely Josh is to stay on program and I'm starting to think it's part of why we choke against lesser teams. Allen has a lot of Pickle Rick in him and seems to have a hard time taking the boring throws that move the sticks. Not saying he can't do it, just that he fights it in games where it seems like the win should come easier.
