  1. Beane was asked in the presser about the backup QB and he said "We've got some things in the works." Then said it should be resolved by early next week.
  2. Not sure the Cleveland fans are happy about this. I would love it, if, as part of the compensation, the Texans want a couple of their stud Olinemen (Teller, for example).
  3. Rogers screwed Adams over with his contract. He puts the onus on GB management that they don't support him with a surrounding cast. No Aaron. You screw yourself by your selfish moves. Don't blame your team when you're not a team player.
  4. According to Shefter today on NFL Live, the only team that has been eliminated is the Browns. The NFC South teams are still in the mix and apparently all made strong presentations. That's likely why it's taking so long for Watson to make a decision. The one advantage to Atlanta is he's from there, so he likely will have a better chance of finding a "welcoming" community.
  5. Philips just said: "Shaq sign the contract." I'll bet the Bills have offered Shaq Lawson a contract but he's holding out for more.
  6. It was burning a hole in their pocket.
  7. 3 years big money! 3 yr $46.5M
  8. They can't afford them with all the money the Edge defenders are getting.
  9. I agree. I think this was the deciding factor for Beane. Miller is a difference maker. He makes better players of those around him. I also think that because of the depth in this year's draft, as well as when you sign players like Miller and Josh and likely Diggs to huge contracts, you need to balance your roster with solid draft picks that won't cost a lot for 4 to 5 years.
  10. Look at what I said in the Von Miller thread. Von Miller is the type of player you DO break the bank for. He plays big in big games...especially the playoffs. Chandler Jones is not that player. So...no...I still wouldn't have broken the bank for Jones and likely Beane wasn't willing to do that either. Von Miller is a totally different story. This move was measured by Beane...and very stealthily done.
  11. Actually that was one of Wentz's issue with the Colts. He refused to take the checkdown. Maurice Jones Drew was talking about it at length today on the NFL Network.
  12. Seriously??? Way to rain on the parade!
  13. Totally agree. I didn't want the Bills to break the bank for just any player. Von Miller is the type of player you break the bank for. He plays big in big games...especially the playoffs. Something Chandler didn't do and something our defense last season didn't do. I said we needed a "Josh" on defense...especially after Tre went down. Von Miller is that kind of player!
  14. This is why you can't get overly excited about "splash" moves. The Cards thought they were getting a gem in Philips when they signed him for $10M per year after the year he had in Buffalo. How did that work out for them? Pieces have to fit schemes and the supporting cast makes a huge difference in the success of a player.
  15. I understand the cap. They could have made room, done a long term deal, etc to spread things out. That's not what Beane does. He never maxes out his credit card. His moves are measured and look at the long term effects. I would have loved Chandler Jones, too. Just not at that price tag.
  16. You got a spare $17M you want to throw into the kitty?
  17. Especially the Carson Wentz who refuses to take check downs.
  18. Beane said in an interview post season, that they wouldn't just look at the playoffs in their player evaluations but would look at the entire body of work (or words to that effect). I thought it was odd when he said it, but it signaled to me that that KC game was an opener for them.
  19. Maybe they're freeing up cap to simply sign their RT.
  20. This makes me wonder whether Wallace's play in that KC game basically showed the Bills that they needed to move on.
  21. The question is whether Kromer can do something with him.
  22. I'm not judging. I'm just observing. That's why this announcement doesn't surprise me in the least.
  23. He can't walk away. The only way he leaves the sport is if he's carried off on a stretcher. He loves football more than his family.
  24. Where are they coming up with this stuff?
