My Moulds gameday jersey will be in the closet

FYI, Moulds did not exactly let the cat out of the bag. A day before he even spoke, Len Pasquarelli threw out a confirmed report on ESPN.com stating that Holcomb would be this week's starter, as confirmed by members of the Bills front office. Moulds has been quite the team player throughout all this. He rarely complains about touches and he just wants to win now. I see nothing wrong with expressing that to the media. He even took the time to speak with JP and let him know that he is the future of the franchise and to keep his head up. Mularkey has repeatedly singled out Moulds as the veteran solely most resposible for Losman's development -- the extra time he spends with him during practice, after practice and during the offseason have been invaluable. He even took the time to hang with him off the field. And there is no question that Moulds is the most senior and most respected veteran on the team. The only player that might come close is Troy Vincent, but Moulds has been with the organization for a longer period of time. Nevertheless, if he isn't number 1, he's at least top 2. And I too will cheer him when he makes plays. Hopefully, Holcomb will provide him with that opportunity. -
TSW reaches a new low in bitter attacks

Umm Have you seen JP's throws to Moulds this year? I think there was maybe one deep ball Moulds could have caught (and even that was a tough one). Other than that, incompletions in Moulds' direction have been the result of some pretty poor passes. I especially loved the INT that was thrown over his head. But course, he should have caught that one too. -

That has to be one of the most fickle things I have ever heard. I question any Bills fan who claims that Moulds deserves boos. He is a constant on this franchise and deserves to speak out when necessary. He was in full support of JP throughout camp and during the offseason. He is simply stating that this team needs to win now. To fault him for that, after all the years he has spent in this organization, is just plain wrong. Is he a top 5 receiver? No. Is he the most respected and most senior veteran on the team? Absolutely. Separate the two before you attack Moulds. -
Thank you. Well said.

Huh? What makes you think that going to the Wild Card this year means a sudden disappearance from contention next year? JP can learn a lot from sitting on the bench and watching Holcomb go about his business and lead the team to the playoffs. He'll learn from being surrounded by a winning culture for a change as opposed to years past. A classic example of this is Daunte Culpepper. At one point in time, Denny Green had Brad Johnson, Randall Cunningham and Culpepper on the roster and what did Culpepper do? He sat.. and watched as the Vikings came within a game of the Super Bowl. A few years later, he was one of the league's best. It is possible folks.

That's what they said when Rob Johnson was here. That's what they said when Todd Collins was here. Playing for a draft pick and "development" in the NFL is the stupidest thing you can do. How do you know a high draft pick translates to a better player? You don't. We managed to get Mike Williams at #4 and Nate Clements at #23. You tell me who is more valuable to the team at this point. In the NFL, if you have the opportunity (even the SLIGHTEST chance) to win now, you take it. I consider both the Giants and Bengals cases to be different for two reasons. 1. Their overall talent was at a lower level than that of the Bills this year. 2. Both QBs were picked #1 overall and were among the highest paid players at their position. It is evident that Losman is not ready at this point. It is also evident that Holcomb or Matthews can better utilize the talent around them at this point. Until this team is out of it, they shouldplay to win. Bottom Line.

You have got to be kidding me. For a franchise that has not made the playoffs in this decade, a wild card playoff berth would be a failure? You are totally out of your mind.

Takeo Spikes is going to be back stronger then

Look, Mularkey is coaching McGahee

It's a motivational tactic to light a fire under a young player's_ass. Who cares? I think Mularkey, having been around his team every day for the past year, knows the right tactics to employ with each of his players. Good leaders motivate their people in different ways... we will see if Mularkey's motivation has an impact this Sunday. Until then, I reserve my judgement. -
Nah, I roll in around 10 and it's no problem. As long as you don't mind standing, you're good to go.

I don't see how Kordell remained unsigned, if not for a backup or 3rd string position.

Hey Gray, Don't get a SD ticket without talking to me! Had a blast last week, got pretty plastered myself. I won't be there this week, going to Vegas baby!!! -
That's in your head... your hunky dunky head, that is. Flutie never publicly called out his teammates for poor play. In fact, he supported them to the media. Whether it happened behind closed doors, I don't know.
-
But he did do his research. He pointed out that the offenses the Bills faced were among the worst in the league. He went game by game to point that out. While this could be a topic in and of itself, it was only one of a few points he made. Delving deeply into this point IMO would necessitate an article by itself. Given the context in which he was presenting the information, I think the supporting facts he provided were adequate. As you said, to each his own.
-
His job is to write an article, not a PhD dissertation. If he wanted to compare the quality of competition faced by Buffalo versus the top flight defenses, he easily could -- but he was just using that as one of his many points in proving that the defense has a lot to prove this year. I think he laid out his argument fairly well. 1. The defense is very good 2. Tends to overpursue (See Pittsburgh game) 3. Faced subpar competition last year Therefore, the defense has a lot to prove this year. Seems fairly well thought out to me.

Completely agree. I think Sullivan brings a dimension that none of the other writers bring. If you're looking for a glass half full view of the Bills, go ahead and read Allen Wilson or Mark Gaughan -- both excellent jounalists who choose to focus on the negatives. Sullivan's articles, though often exaggerated, provide an alternative viewpoint, which I am always willing to read. It's amazing how so many posters react as if he is insulting thier mother when in fact he is merely criticizing a football team.

Let's hope and pray those pics never EVER get released to the public.

You are nuts. Cutting Moulds is stupid. I do think that the Bills will let Fletcher walk and may even allow Spikes to roam the middle.

This may have been posted before... if so, ignore. On "NFL Playbook," each person had to highlight what team around the NFL they are watching. Sterling Sharpe said he is watching the Buffalo Bills because he not only thinks they will be good, he thinks they can dethrone the Patriots as AFC Champs. A few things that were said: 1. They loved what they saw of Losman. Sharpe said he made mistakes, but as long as those mistakes are "physical" (ie overthrows, underthrows, etc), that's fine. It's when the mistakes are mental that you begin to worry and Losman made very few of those that he noticed. 2. They said Bills have great special teams and Defense so Losman won't have to do it by himself. 3. Losman needs to use the tools he has around him to be successful. Pretty much same old stuff, but thought it was interesting Sterling would predict a possible AFC Championship.

You lose credibility with that statement. Calling Flutie a bad QB is one thing. Calling him a loser is quite another, as he won his fair share as Bill. Rob Johnson, with the same solid D, sucked.

John has your season prediction ever been below 10-6 or 11-5? -
Look everyone is entitled to your opinion here but

John, I'd agree with you... but if my grandma was under center in a Bills uniform you'd gush about her too. -
JP Losman Ran For An 82 Yard TD
Dawgg replied to BillsGuyInMalta's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yipee! That's a sign of great things to come. The Defense wasn't allowed to lay a finger on him and he ran unscathed for 82 yards!!! Super Bowl here we come!!!!!!!!!!!!!
