  1. I only saw a few plays of the Rams game and Goff was throwing it up to Watkins only for him to be double covered and unable to bring it in. I think his confidence in Watkins is building and he will start to get better statistically sooner than later. It takes time to build chemistry and he didn't have all of camp like woods and Kupp. On the other hand Gilmore has not grasped the Defense in New England and has blown so many coverages by go after the wrong player that he's lucky he's on the field. He's more of a bump and run out on an island type corner which isn't how New England plays so I think it will be a difficult Adjustment and he really didn't fit the System. I think both will have some level of success eventually. But, how many times have we seen our players from our secondary look good for us and fall flat somewhere else. Byrd, Clements....
  2. Seeing Carson Palmer, Adrian Peterson and Larry Fitzgerald absolutely carve up a Buccaneers Defense that is missing or injured Kwon Alexander and Lavonte David. They have young corners and there is a Chance that Fitz QB's for them. I say for us to win I don't think Tyrod has to pass for over 200 yards for us to win. Albeit Fitz's best game last year was against the bills with the Jets. He has a superior WR core ten fold and decent RB's behind him with a suspect line. This is a game at Home Buffalo should win which scares me. Tyrod throws less than 224 and we win. Shady has a big game and the defense gets revenge on Fitz.
  3. Drew Brees might be able to make Tate a Superstar. Brees, Brady, Manning and Rodgers maybe Rivers are able to elevate the WR's around them by giving them well thrown balls and allowing them to make plays. All the WRs in the NFL are capable of catching and running some are better YAC players others more possession guys. This isn't high school where there is a huge dropoff between the good and the bad. These were all high level college players at one point. I know there are some hidden gems on teams with bad QB's that may never get a chance.
  4. It's enjoyable to watch Jay Cutler dismantle another franchise. But, by far my least favorite player on the dolphins is Jarvis Landry after what he did to Aaron Williams that guy can rot in hell.
  5. How is it bad or wrong to want to continually improve the team. Consistently good teams always do that. Our offense isn't exactly lighting it up. Regardless of who is at QB we have to give that person the best targets to throw to as possible. I do think that the FO wasn't expecting this team to win as quickly as they have and it might have changed how the offseason went. I do think Boldin might have stuck around for a contender. Regardless we need to add at least one more receiving weapon and get something to spark this offense. Or else we will be at watching the playoffs instead of playing in them yet again.
  6. Every time the Bills win and even if it's ugly it gives Tyrod another game. I'm getting tired of Tyrod getting to the last step of his drop where you can tell it's a timing route and you see a wide open reciever about to come open over the middle only for him to not pull the trigger and run around until he's sacked. It's deflating. I just can't help but hope that Peterman makes that play and moves the chains. I believe Tyrod has hit his ceiling and it will be another playoff stricken year in Buffalo. He's only looked mediocre in our wins. This is not a sustainable way of playing all year. Put all the weight on the defense and limp along on offense.
  7. How many times have we watched great QB's (Manning, Brady, Rodgers) make WR's that were no names with bad QB's become superstars. Wes Welker was only a return man before Brady started throwing to him. I wonder how many of those guys would disappear on a bad team. Our WR core looks barren. These guys all made it into the NFL were all stand outs in college and can all catch a well thrown ball. Zay has dropped some passes and it may be in his head at this point but one of his best traits out of college was great hands I feel he'll come around. We can debate all day about the drop in Carolina an L is an L. For all the people defending Tyrod I understand completely and I wanna see the guy be successful and great. I'm just getting tired of having to cater to all of his flaws. Making him roll out and only read half the field. I just wanna see a passer that when down late in the game can be the architect of a game winning drive consistently (Rodgers). I wanna see less 3 and outs. Yesterday it was very important to let our banged up secondary rest and we didn't do that. Having a winning record 5 games in and losing a stinker in Cincinatti before our bye should not be grounds enough for Tyrod's job to be safe. Having the Patriots with the same record and the lowly Jets tied with us should be cause for concern. We have won two statement games back to back because of our defense. Not because we are offensive juggernauts. There is always room for improvement and I have no idea if Peterman would be an improvement or not. It's not an if its a when.
  8. This isn't the first hot start in the last 17 years there has been a few. Only to watch injuries pile up and our depth get exposed by other teams. We aren't exactly blowing anyone out and how long before teams adjust to our broken wing wide recieving core and pile the box and cover up Clay. Then what do we do. I'm just as excited that we beat two real quality teams and have given the fan base something to look forward too. But, i've tempered my expectations around the short falls that could become detrimental to us down the road. I think we are playing as a team especially on defense with a next man up mentality and making Dareus compete to play is refreshing. I'm just afraid to get too excited to only be let down again. I said coming into this year i would have low expectations so that way I don't get let down too bad. That being said win or lose I bleed red white and blue until I die.
  9. We beat the NFC champions at home one week after beating the Broncos both considered playoff teams. Having Julio and Sanu knocked out of the Game helped, but guess what we won. We still have a tough road ahead and plenty of losable games on the schedule. Luckily our bye week is coming up and we can hopefully get some of our team healthy. I like our chances if we can keep the high level of defense up to make the playoffs. That being said I'm naturally skeptic giving the last 17 years and how many times they have come out of the gate on fire only to fall on their faces.
  10. There was really one drive that stood out yesterday that frustrated me. After the interception we ran it twice then called a QB run. Normally and pretty much every team does it you go for the jugular and try to make them pay for it. I will say before that our run game was effective. It just seemed overly conservative to me. I know that wasn't Tyrod making the play calls but I feel with a more competent pocket passer you throw one deep. Of course that begs the question who is our deep threat. Apparently Charles Clay and Kaelin Clay are our only deep threats. I feel Tyrod is a great stop gap QB but not the long term answer for this team. I like his personality and professionalism I just feel he lacks certain traits to bring home the Lombardi and isn't that the only goal we have.
  11. The Jonathan Williams release is still the most puzzling move this FO did this year. He's just chilling on a practice squad ripe for the picking. He looked good in preseason was getting praise from the coaches and then he was gone. If Shady does go down then we have to rely on banyard and taiwan to carry the ball. Why did dimarco run yesterday at least use taiwan he has some speed. I don't mind seeing Tolbert make a few punishing runs because sometimes he does get decent yardage and a pile of dust. But we have to have someone we can rely on to take over if anything heaven forbid happens to Shady.
  12. I grew up idolizing Jim Kelly and being amazed at the leadership that he eventually showed on that team and I will always have a place in my heart for him. I just don't think we can afford to have some old timer sitting on the sidelines with the players criticizing them and messing up our chemistry. I think we have a long way to go to be established as a threat in this league, but so far I am liking the fight and the heart this team is showing. I don't want to see anything jeopardizing our new McBeane culture.
  13. Is anybody else just sick of hearing about opening up the offense. I say tell Tyrod to try to sling it all over the field with reckless abandon. Quit this afraid of turnovers garbage and lets see how good he can be. If he doesn't cut the mustard we have Peterman. I understand that our offense is predicated on ball control and time management, but the best teams can sling it all over the field. I watched multiple plays and Tyrod doesn't look comfortable and is quick to pull down and try to run he doesn't always keep his eyes down field. I'm just tired of seeing the same thing going on for years now. He shows at times he's capable but he's too inconsistent and the writing is on the wall. So lets stop calling all the conservative plays and "Open it up" against the no fly zone because i'm sure they won't expect it.
  14. Denver's coaches watching the game tape licking their chops. Shut down Shady and it's game over. Who's to say if we had put in Peterman that he couldn't of at least messed up the defenses gameplan enough for one or two successful drives before they could adjust. Or maybe it would of been throwing him to the wolves.
  15. Who's to say we don't have a situation like in Denver. Where Peterman (Siemian) comes in and starts and the Rookie (Lynch) can't beat him out to get on the field.
  16. Well if the panthers can slow down our running game and force Taylor to pass against one of the worst secondary's in the league we will have our answer of how far he has come. I saw some improvements in areas and some things I didn't like to see. He does occasionally see a ghosts back there and take off running for no reason. With our line playing better everywhere but Miller I think he will have time to maybe improve his pocket presence. I'm already sick of the off tackle runs behind the RG it seems ridiculous to me to run that play so many times with sub par results, I understand you have to keep the defense honest but c'mon man.
  17. This explains why when we kept running to the right side we had very little success. It was painful to watch at times as we seemed to wanna force it behind miller only to watch it go for a yard or two at most.
  18. I'm a little curious of why people keep saying the jets have a good D. They completely overhauled their defense and lost a ton of good players. Lets not jump the gun and think that Bowles has a good defense until they stop a team that we know has a good offense. I still have question marks about our offense Tyrod to me didn't look any better than last year. He did throw a few more balls over the middle to Clay which i liked, but he seemed to miss on the deep balls. That being said we are playing a team that since the super bowl hasn't looked great Cam is still recovering from his injury and if we can slow down the run with Jonathan Steward and Christian Mccaffrey we have a good chance of keeping it close and giving ourselves a chance to win. Kelvin benjamin is an underutilized matchup nightmare for our defense due to his height.
  19. Neither Carolina or Atlanta trounced who they played. In fact they played down to them. The Bears dropped a few balls near and in the end zone that would of won them the game. Carolina played a Hoyer led 49ers who are a shadow of what they once were and Cam looked off the whole game. It is not inconcievable buffalo finds a way to win one or both of those games. That being said it was week one and teams don't really find their true identities until after week 4 thats when they separate the wheat from the chaff.
  20. Even if we win they will blame it on Mcdermott knowing the other team. Just like when Gruden won the super bowl with the bucs he was calling there plays for them.
  21. Still fuzzy on the jonathan williams release.

  22. Looking like a Peterman kinda night
