It was a massive overpay by Baalke and the Jags to start with. He had a lack of productivity when he did play. Never seemed to get on the same page as Lawrence (sound familiar?) and then had the injury. Then they bring in a new HC/GM that want to clear the bad contract being paid to what would be at best their WR3 with Hunter and Thomas leading the target share. I don't think he did anything wrong other than being overpaid and no longer needed.

He would be likely WR5 in KC. They don't need WR help. Houston and NE addressed the WR position well in the draft. Don't see that. Pittsburgh did just create an opening so that may be. I wouldn't rule out places like Vegas or Atlanta. Miami likes collecting players whose name exceeds their talent too

I called this during the draft. The writing was on the wall with a new HC/GM and making the big move for Hunter. The Bills absolutely loved his work ethic and reportedly wanted him back. He should have a pretty soft market coming off another down year before the injury. All that said....hard pass. Which would likely deflect off Davis's fingers and be intercepted.

Who’s your defensive surprise of the year?

Joey Bosa. There is a lot of clowning on the signing here but it is an excellent gamble. Bosa is signed to a 1 year deal. He has this year to show Buffalo (and the rest of the league) that he still can be "that guy". You don't do that in the trainers room. He will play through what would have sidelined him in the past as he's chasing one final big contract. Be it here in Buffalo or someplace else while we end up with a nice comp pick. He's also a fiery and emotional type player that has played the majority of his home games in LA, where almost weekly fans of the opposing team out numbered Charger fans. He is going to thrive here in Buffalo with our fans bringing the noise. Dude is going to be pumped every play. Also, I think they limit his snap count a bit with the rotation, especially after the first 6 games. Just a slight number nothing crazy. He will still see more than half the snaps IMO. But enough to keep him fresh and healthy. I expect a 10-12 sack season from him with games where he is an absolute monster. -
I love it when a player I can't stand goes to a team I can't stand.

Bishop isn't slow when running in a straight line. He's average. However, it takes him a bit longer to process and react, and it has a noticeable affect on his play speed. He plays much slower than he should. It's almost like he doesn't trust what he's seeing so he doesn't fully commit until it's too late. That may improve with experience. I'm with you here. I thought Hardy looked the part at CB in the preseason. Vastly better than Codrigton did. If he has taken steps at returning kicks/punts he will likely make the 53 and have a jersey on game day IMO. They kept him around for a reason. -

Why Landon Jackson is the next MONSTER in the NFL

That is one scary looking dude. Watching that video I did see some Crosby...but the way he plays with that intensity...kid of reminds me of a younger Joey Bosa too -

I don't know if his contact makes it difficult to move on from him this year. Maybe a cap guru can answer that for me. But he did have some streaks of struggle last year and seems to get knicked up more than he has in the past. I liked Hardy last year in the preseason. Added so much more at CB than Codrigton. I think he's who I'm thinking of that played some NCB and didn't look terrible. I think if he can show better judgment returning kicks he could lock down a spot on the 53 and see some real reps at NCB. We say that every year. "So and so won't clear waivers". Yet most times they do. Yearly only a handful of guys get claimed by a new team league wide. Yet, if it's close and there is legitimate worry he wouldn't clear because he showed well in preseason, you keep him, cut Lewis. Cheaper contract and no one is likely to claim Lewis. -

I agree. Hamlin will never be a top starter level guy in the NFL. I would say his ceiling is below league average as a starter. But he does make some plays here and there and more times then not I believe he does what he's told and is where he is supposed to be. Facing facts, we were spoiled here in Buffalo watching Hyde and Poyer play in their prime for so many years. Not many will be suitable replacements for them. I think our expectations for how the position is played is raised a bit higher than in most fanbase. I really have no idea if Hancock will be an upgrade. I've never watched a full game of his. And who knows how his transition to safety will go. I do think Lewis having time in the position and playing in this system gives him a mental upgrade to have the leg up on a rookie that has a lot to learn still. I think the only way Hancock flat out beats him is if he shows to be some physical specimen out there. My best guess is one is kept on the active roster and the other is signed back to the practice squad. -

I expect Hairston and Benford to start at the corner position. Taron at NCB. At Safety Rapp and Hamlin are the starters coming into camp. If someone outplays them, so be it. As of the close of last year, Bishop did not look like a guy poised to take over. Maybe a healthy camp changes that. Forrest or whoever his name is is a dart throw and a guy that people desperately wanting anyone but Hamlin are clinging to. And Hancock is going to have to learn the position. I don't see him as a day 1 option. And for what it's worth with all the hand wringing about Hamlin, I felt he was actually better than Rapp for much of the season. In any event the Bills action (or lack thereof) tells us what they think of that room. They made no move to bring in guys that are established starters, didn't look to the position high in the draft. They like their guys there. -

Can't see targets if you can't earn the snaps to be on the field
