  1. NIce creative work there OP. I read it and instantly thought no way am I giving up #40. Then I saw the creative effort in moving down in the second round. I still don't think it will work because the range of salaries to make it work is virtually zero. First we don't want to overpay (see what happened with Clay). But if we don't, Jets will match. So the small sweet spot for the trade is that our draft compensation has to be such that the jets think foregoing that is not worth the money paid to Anderson. Now moving down in the second makes the jets more willing to match which means we have to start overpaying Anderson to stop that. Also, from a PR standpoint, no way can the Jets GM allow Anderson to walk to a division rival only to potentially be roasted twice a year for it. Especially with the cap space they are sitting on. The salary to Anderson would have to be truly egregious for the Jets to walk away and that will and should be unacceptable to us. But I applaud the creative effort.
  2. Summary of Beane Press Conference 1. Good Conversations with Jordan Phillips reps 2. Ken Dorsey as QB coach: worked well with Cam. Similarities between Cam and Allen 3. Sleep better in 2019 with QB set. Allen was behind last year since he couldnt get reps with #1 for quite a while. This year TC etc. will be better for Allen 4. No set measures or type for #1 WR. All sizes / shapes just looking for someone Josh Allen can count on. 5. Scouting Combine: Bills have 60+ interviews. Will concentrate on medicals and personality. 6. Would like more people invited to combine. Some disciplined uninvited players still at combine for medical / interviews 7. Metcalf: heck of a career - dont want to put a label on him 8. TE situation: First look at FA, then draft. Look at blocking and receiving. Depth in draft. But some development opportunities for the young TEs. 9. 20 hr rule in NCAA - college teams are signaling to receivers - so receivers are less ready - so evaluation on whether they can correct mistakes 10. Defensive Front has depth in draft. Receivers too. But all round strong draft class. 11. Talked about how Robert Foster developed technically and raved out about his drive. Foster has been around Buffalo a lot (in the offseason as well) 12. Spencer Long: Watched Spencer last year too. Has experience and versatility. Not slotting him at a spot yet. Is there for competition. 13. About hole on offensive line: we can bring back some people from last year or not. We are focused on OL and there is depth in the draft on Oline. 14. Harrison brought depth last year. Will compete for starting spot. But will be on the look out for a FA as well. 15. RB: another position where they will look. But feel good about Lesean and Chris - though they will add competition if someone good is available. 16. UDFAs good not just at RB (like Lindsay). Looking to hit on at least one or two later round picks. 17. Tyrod was not a franchise QB. So needed to do trades to get a franchise QB. McD screwed it up a bit by making the playoffs:), but still managed to get Josh Allen. Last year was the best opportunity for a rookie QB. 18. If you dont have a franchise QB, cant have sustained success. That is why McB focused on that first.
  3. any video link? Beane always says more than McD:) like when he revealed what the terms of the agreement were with Denver on draft day for #5 pick. Ok found a radio link https://wgr550.radio.com/media/audio-channel/02-28-brandon-beane
  4. Ha! Guess I deserved that. I shd have clarified that I am not as sold on Agholor as a WR as some others are. But at least he is healthy and durable enough to be worth a later round pick (which is why I posted the Matthews comparison). BTW, Ben Simmons will make a better QB than TE:) And, he may prefer a trade to the Rams or Chargers (since he can play with Lebron in the NFL offseason).
  5. I agree that when healthy Paradis deserves 10.5 mill per on a multi year deal. But is he healed well enough? Guess we will know in a few days.
  6. Maybe he is not yet fully healed yet. Otherwise, any Bills offer should likely blow this one year deal out of the water. I would still like the Bills to outpay the horsies for Paradis' services. Alternatively, maybe the Bills have decided to concentrate on Morse.
  7. The last WR trade with the Sixers did not really work out well for us. But Agholor does not have a significant injury history like Matthews did at the time of the trade. https://sportsinjurypredictor.com/player/nelson-agholor/7235 https://sportsinjurypredictor.com/player/jordan-matthews/6963 So may be alright to trade a lower round draft pick for him, I guess.
  8. This draft is loaded with good o linemen. Past years I agree.
  9. I dont know the statistics but Fred Biletnikoff, Joe Horn and Chad Johnson are the poster boys for erstwhile CFL guys finding success in the NFL. http://www.espn.com/blog/statsinfo/post/_/id/120284/nfl-stars-with-ties-to-the-cfl
  10. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/26096968/jets-looking-deal-no-3-pick-draft-haul GM Mike Mccagnan:
  11. McBeane, dont SITTON signing him. Ger 'er done.
  12. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/26094117/eagles-put-franchise-tag-foles As anticipated on this board, the Eagles chose not to put a franchise tag on Foles. After their posturing the past 2 years, I was kinda hoping the Eagles would Tag him and then actually have to pay someone draft compensation to get Foles off their books. That would have been so ironic. Now Eagles hoping for a 3rd round comp pick. Fins, Redskins and Jags are the oddsmakers' favorites to land him.
  13. If all goes well, Croom may be McDermott's boss in 20 years:)
  14. I saw him singlehandedly destroy LSU. Shredded double teams as if he were playing against high schoolers. He primarily played the 3-4 in Bama. The concern for the Bills is whether he can play in a 4-3 next to Star. I believe he can. He reminds me so much of a young Gerald McCoy.
  15. When all is said and done, I would not at all be surprised if we see Haskins and Murray go 1-2 (in some order) in the draft! That is good news for us. Would be so kicked if Quinnen Williams fell to us somehow (I know it is a pipe dream).
  16. Ah yes, The fins are Tanking for Tuva, right? Prolly Fins let him go to ensure their analytics department does not get in the way with an extra win or two
  17. Last I heard Lauren Hall is still employed at PSE, no? So it cant be workplace affair related.
  18. Speedy guys complement Allen well. Always felt Goodwin would have been a good fit for Allen. So I am all for "wasting a 5th" on John Ross. He did catch 7 TDs in 10 games - so strangely enough for a speed guy, he does well in the red zone. On the flip side, the concern I have with him is about how few of his targets he reeled in. I think he caught 21 out of 58 passes. If he has trouble catching Dalton's throws - Josh Allen may be too difficult for him to handle. That is why I dont want to offer more than a 5th. This guy has Mayock / Gruden written all over him. Predicting he goes to Oakland. I think Mayock had him as the top wideout in his mock 2 years ago. He can make a case that he was mismanaged by Marvin Lewis.
  19. I dont want Hockenson at #9. Would be happy to get him later in the first if we trade down.
  20. Getting one of the top 2 centers (Paradis or Morse) should be our top goal for free agency. After that everything else is just icing on the cake. Real benefit of Gostkowski has been an extra roster spot every game since he handles both kicking and punting. Edit: He only did it a few times. Pats have a punter. At this point I do not think he is an upgrade over Haushka in kicking.
  21. Doesnt look mind bogglingly great. https://www.si.com/nfl/2019/02/25/robert-kraft-prostitution-charges-sex-trafficking-patriots-nfl-combine-dwayne-haskins-kyler-murray But, teams have started valuing em a bit more these days.
  22. If there are significant legal ramifications, his son will take over running of the team. I hope the Pats lose at least one first rounder. There will be also be a fine.
  23. That is true. If he wants to continue in his job, he better not say he is "discouraged". That said, I was "encourage" by the quote by what it did not say - there was no mention of the rocket arm or the running ability as the reason for Daboll being "encouraged". I liked that. Didnt he or Beane say that or something close about Shaq Lawson though?
  24. I think you mean Charles Johnson. https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/football/news/charles-johnson-leads-aaf-in-receiving/ I would not complain if we had him. His contract is not guaranteed - so it is year to year. I think part of AB's issues stem from that fact - he wants his contract reworked to include guaranteed money. I think a team like ours can meet him halfway. Something like guarantee two years now with the third one guaranteed after 1 year. That said, I agree with your assessment that Steelers are going to get less than what they thought a couple of months ago.
