Bills major glaring weaknesses.. Defensive Line. That said, we have potential growth from rookies, Oliver comes back and we get Hoecht and Ogunjobi off suspension post-bye. CB2. Strong may have a serious injury. Tre White simply CANNOT be CB2 on a Super Bowl contending team. Ja’Marcus Ingram is our only depth. As an aside, Benford has not had a good start to the season. Hairston comes back, maybe, but what will he be? WR. Same issues as always. Lack of separation and inability to create explosives at outside WR. A team like the Pats are perfectly constructed to exploit that with a strong run defense and two stud corners. We saw the result…just like we saw the result last year against Houston. Linebacker. Milano cannot be relied upon. To the point where it’s almost a disservice to the team to keep trying to play him. We’re left with Bernard, Thompson and not much else that’s playable on all 3 downs. Quite a few glaring holes for a team that’s contending for a Super Bowl. Luckily, the AFC is full of teams with holes, but ours seem to be recurring themes that surface here and there throughout the season and ultimately doom us against KC. How many moves are you looking to make at GM and how “all in” are you willing to go? Would you be willing to move productive players like a Knox (very unlikely) or Van Demark as player for player swaps? What type of pick would you give up for a positional upgrade. For me, I’m willing to give up a 2nd or 3rd for a multi-year WR. It has to be addressed if possible and in a meaningful way. Josh Allen turning the ball over, smacking his head on the field and getting up wincing on another play last night is a direct reflection of this issue. DL is stand pat and hope the Calvary solves it. I’d be throwing around Day 3 picks for LB and CB. I get it.. not ideal. But this team is going NOWHERE with Tre at CB2. In order of importance… CB2 - WR - LB - DL Id be on the phones making sure CB2 and WR are addressed if I’m Beane and I’m willing to part with a Day 2 and Day 3 pick to make sure that happens in a meaningful way.

Bills turnovers/penalties and Stefon Diggs vs Tre White is the reason we lost by 3. Bills have to find an answer to CB2 or that issue doesn’t go away. Pats are good, but it took an absolutely atrocious game by the Bills to win by a FG. Problem is .. We don’t currently have a reliable fix for CB2 and their strengths on Defense (two stud corners and strong run defense) really matches up well to make the currently constructed Bills Offense commit penalties and turn the ball over due to pressing because of the poor WR room that ratchets up pressure on everyone else.

They also allow opponents to go long drives, consuming clock, keeping yardage down and putting JA on the bench.

They got Barmore & Gonzalez back and signed Milton Williams and Carlton Davis. We can’t sign guys like that because we pay Josh Allen, but also waste money on guys like Samuel and Palmer, who I would love to be proven wrong about at some point this season. Not fun to see Benford be completely meh this year though. We can’t afford to miss on extending guys. -

Taron Johnson and Christian Benford being very very average this year is masked by the absolute dumpster fire that Tre White has been. -

Is Diggs doing that against the NE Defense with Gonzalez and Davis? No. Hes still a nice WR, but doesn’t change anything for us. He cooked Tre and our zone coverage. Tre is washed.. Taron might be too and Benford has looked more like Carlton Banks than Carlton Davis so far this season. -
Is an OC good when the announcer knows exactly what you’re doing on most plays? Brady’s Offense comes across as an OC who has the best QB in the NFL, one of the best OL’s and RB’s, along with a very good TE room and average/below average WR’s. So what exactly is he doing if the only things he’s successful at are in direct relation to having elite talent? I don’t think he’s bad, but I think he’s highly Josh Allen/James Cook/OL dependent to look good.

We’re getting to a point where we can’t play him. You can’t gameplan for anyone when one of your key players literally has a 50/50 shot of making it through the game.

For all you McDermott haters, who would you want? (Now a poll)

We might have had the easiest schedule in the NFL so far. 3 horrible teams, 1 miraculous comeback win against a good team before they fell apart and took an L at home to the first good team we’ve played since Week 1. Same issues present this year are the same issues they doom us against KC in the playoffs each year. If we were Philly or KC, sure.. benefit of the doubt. Bills don’t deserve that and are being judged by the fanbase as to if this team can FINALLY help the best QB in the NFL, who would die on the field for this city, get to a Super Bowl. Early returns are not promising. -

Diggs might be the only guy who can get under Allen’s skin. Doesnt help that he goes to war against good defenses with butter knives at WR.. so when he starts pressing, it’s very noticeable. -

We have alot of issues. This team is 4-1 because we have Josh Allen and James Cook. Thats about it. On the bright side, Kincaid truly looks like a top tier TE weapon. On the downside, currently.. DL issues, CB2 and Outside WR are fatal flaws, with LB a concern due to Milano being a guy we just cannot rely on. Maybe Oliver, Hoecht and Ogunjobi, along with development from Sanders and Walker stabilize the DL. Maybe Hairston comes back, but I’m not sure the team can count on that. Outside WR is a problem, has been a problem and under Beane might always be a problem. They need to make a move before the deadline because this Offense will need to score and as currently constructed goes through lulls due to this issue. Flashing red lights/Terminal flaw.. Tre White can’t be our CB2. -

Chiefs have been able to win that game in recent years because of their Defense. We can’t. And every year Allen has to try to beat that Defense with subpar WR’s, while Mahomes goes up against an undersized, injured Bills Defense. Seems to be trending the same way this year. Our hope being that KC fell back to the pack and not that we caught them. -

I want to know who is more to blame for the CONSTANT recurring issues this team has year to year that ultimately holds us back. -Lack of pass rush -Lack of outside WR talent -Injury issues plaguing the Defense Those two issues constantly hold us back and every year they’re not fixed. So who is responsible for the asset allocation? Is Beane drafting to his coaches who want to be a heavy run team with WR’s who can block and a Defense that has penetrating smaller players? Or is it both of them? This team has serious holes right now due to the Hairston injury, years of misses on the DL and absolute disinterest in truly addressing the WR room. As currently constructed, this team has very serious flaws. They’ve been visible since Week 1 and due to an easy schedule start, were masked until tonight. McDermott doesn’t seem like he can get us across the line but Beane also has very serious blind spots/weaknesses that continue to hurt this team … but is he drafting to what McDermott and his coaches want?- 589 replies

Saints WR Rashid Shaheed......possible trade deadline move??
SCBills replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills need a CB2, legit outside seperator at WR and LB depth because we can’t keep doing this with Milano. Not sure we can accomplish all that before the deadline. Just can’t believe we’re still in this situation at WR. Absolute malpractice from Beane with the added bonus of attacking Jeremy White for correctly assessing our WR situation. -

The issues we saw through 4 games shined bright tonight. This team has a lot of issues. -Outside WR’s don’t win enough -Matt Milano can’t be relied on, at all -Tre White can’t be out there if we want to have a decent defense -

Every issue many complained about for the first 4 games are glaringly obvious tonight. This team has alot of issues.. reliable pass rush, reliable outside WR, linebacker health and CB2. Defense now 2/2 in giving up TD’s and Allen forcing it because NE can sit back in a shell, zero worry of getting beat outside and stop the run. -

This game, so far, is simply an extrapolation of why the Bills Offense has gone through lulls for quarters of games… lack of talent performing at outside WR. They can typically run on teams, but when they aren’t able to gash the opponent and play off the run, then need to win in the passing game, it’s just not been reliable yet (for years now). -

NE is stout against the run and have an elite outside corner tandem. Makes it really difficult on us when we have wildly average outside WR’s that aren’t winning their matchups. -
