  1. Steelers and Browns are both playing with fire every game and are bound to start losing some games... but to date, they both have 4 losses and keep winning rock fights against meh opponents - so how are we to just believe that will stop happening? Texans are good, but also young, and could hit a rough patch.. but given their schedule, that's more of a hope than expectation. And now we have to worry about the Colts and Broncos. Dolphins could hit the skids with their final 2 games before our season finale, but they don't seem capable - yet - of losing to bad teams... and I don't love having to hope they remain a team that can't beat good teams.
  2. I was honestly just hoping Allen could will himself into the end zone in OT, because if we gave Philly the ball, we all knew McDermott's Defense can't step up in clutch moments. Hurts ran it in on a play that they were laughing at us about after the game.. just shocked that we would give them that look. In retrospect, we should've just give Allen every play in OT with the option to simply run if he wants to.
  3. OL can be subjective, but the Bills OL is one of the better pass pro lines in the league and is middle of the pack in run blocking. The Defensive Line is right up there with the elite DL's in terms of pressure rate and sacks at 3.4 per game.
  4. I had a good feeling going into the game. Felt even better when they were up 17-7 at half, especially given the officiating. When Bass missed the FG that would've put us up 20-7, I started to waver. But never truly thought we were going to lose until the 3rd down pass dropped incomplete on the miscommunication between Josh and Gabe that should've been the game winning TD. As soon as Bass trotted out there to put us up 3, FG make or miss, I knew it was over. And THAT is why we need a new HC. Because we all knew, deep down, it was over at that point.... which is unacceptable when you have a defensive minded HC.
  5. There are justifiable criticisms, but this one ended this year. Your post is just flat out wrong. The Bills have a Top 5 OL and Top 5 DL. The question is can they keep the DL going given our cap situation, pending FA's and Beane having a weakness so far at drafting early impact EDGE rushers.
  6. I think Beane should stay and McDermott should go. I also wonder how much of what Brandon Beane does is influenced by giving McDermott a team he says he needs. For all of Beane's misses, and he has his fair share, he's still above average. He's provided the Buffalo Bills with: Top 2 QB Top 5 OL Top 5 DL Top 5 WR Along with young pieces like Kincaid, Torrence, Shakir, Cook, Benford and Bernard. The challenge now will be keeping the DL as a top tier unit next year with our salary cap situation. Everything else.. Top 5 OL, Top 2 QB, Top 5 WR should carry over, and potentially even be bolstered if we can upgrade on Gabe Davis at WR2 via this loaded draft. Absolutely insane that we are 6-6 with what I mentioned above. That's not on Beane. That's on our choke artist of a Head Coach, who demands resources be spent heavily on defense, yet that defense never steps up when it matters. Game after Game. Year after Year. Just this year we didn't sign Hopkins, because we spent on Poyer and Floyd. Then the defense fell apart due to injuries, so Beane got McD Douglas and Joseph. It's always about the defense... and for what?
  7. Offense put up 30+ on a top defense, in bad weather, on the road. Our HC is a defensive guy, who is responsible for us allocating a ton on defense to get him a top tier DL and veterans on the back end that he wanted. Time and time again, the defense fails in big games, big moments and late game situations. We've sacrificed talent around Allen to fortify the defense. We sacrificed signing a guy like Hopkins for Floyd and Poyer. The defense lets us down time and time again. Our defensive minded HC lets us down, time and time again. Season to season, ever since 13 seconds. He's a choke artist who needs elite talent all over the field on defense, otherwise he can't overcome despite his background.
  8. This. Josh Allen put forth one of the best bad weather games ever for a QB, against a top tier Defense, on the road. He threw the ball all over the field. He made clutch throws. He evaded pressure. He ran the ball. He ran it in for TD's. He gave the team the lead late, multiple times. We still lost.
  9. Do you think the Bills can go 5-0 down the stretch? Talent wise, with Allen, I actually do. Execution, discipline and coaching-wise.. I do not. Because 5-0 is likely what it will take to get in, unless the Texans, Broncos, Colts or all start falling apart to leave that 7 spot wide open or Browns/Steelers stop winning rock fights every week.
  10. It’s not about “this loss” Its about the entire year, his entire tenure and the fact “this loss” happens regularly in big moments for this HC. McDermott has us at 6-6 with an elite QB, owner willing to spend anything it takes and an above average GM that used any resource we could to give McDermott adequate injury replacements for 2 of the 3 guys we lost for the season. Pretty sure most HC’s could achieve .500 with Allen, Diggs, Kincaid, Top 5 OL and a stable of pass rushers that form a top 5 pass rush.
  11. McDermott does the same crap every big late drive. Off coverage, soft defense.. allow the team to coast up to midfield, hoping they make a mistake. Then he decides to play defense.. at which point, the opposing offense has a few first downs and rhythm.
  12. Love Diggs, but he looks checked out. Hard not to read into his body language and usage/effort lately. Even after the TD, I thought it was incomplete because he reacted to it like someone kicked his dog. Going through the motions is what I’m seeing from him. And I don’t even necessarily mean that as a criticism. He’s playing for a HC he doesn’t believe in and knows can’t get the job done.
  13. The Allen we saw today is the best QB in the NFL. Don’t say “but Mahomes”… don’t care - that version of Allen is better than anyone. His issue is consistency. Mahomes is more consistently good. Which is part of why they are playoff bound.. but also, he has the HC piece in place. We dont. Allen knows he has to be perfect in every big game, otherwise our HC can sabotage it for us. Allen threw one pick. One mistake on him. And we lost a one score game in OT.. because of our HC.
  14. I’m going to say no, not on a macro level. However, it’s a really bad look to have Shawn Hochuli’s crew go into a game where a HC is 4-0 in their games, then proceed to call a game that draws national attention to the one side officiating. Nevermind that there is zero consistency. Keenan Allen had the same fumble we had in OT. His was ruled a fumble. In our game, incomplete pass.
  15. “Both defenses were gassed” We ran like 90 something plays on them. They ran 2/3rds of that on us. I do agree with the rest of you post though… aside from the fumble that wasn’t a fumble but was a fumble in the Chargers/Ravens game.
  16. Tell me what the point of having a defensive minded HC is when the star QB gives your team the lead, late, with the defense only needing one stop … not one, not two, but three times in 12 games and in all 3 games, we all knew they wouldn’t get that stop. It was actually 4 times, but one game they got a stop after letting a horrible offense drive the entire field because the refs didn’t call PI on us. My mistake McDermott, don’t want to leave that feather in the cap out for you. Tell me what the point of having a defensive minded HC is when you settle for a FG in overtime and and the second the 3rd down play fell incomplete, we all knew deep down that we lost the game.
  17. It’s beyond obvious at this point. Without Josh Allen - McDermott is a culture guy whose culture unravels without winning and defensive guy, whose defenses rarely show up in big moments.
  18. I honestly was in shock that he did that. For one, he was trying ice a clutch kicker rushing out there for a 59 yarder in bad weather. Instead they got to take their time and set up the kick operation. For two, if he makes it.. 20 seconds and two timeouts gives us a shot. Just wild how he keeps making a dumpster fire of situations late game.
  19. This game should’ve put Josh Allen back into the league lead MVP race. Instead it’s just another epic Josh Allen performance that is undone by the coach and his defense.
  20. McDermott had all his healthy starters today, which includes a 1 for 1 replacement of Tre White in Rasul Douglas and a suitable mitigation at DT with Linval Joseph. We’re really only down a LB at this point. I really don’t want to hear this excuse. Different players / Same McD bs.
  21. THIS. Yea, we “had” injuries. Beane got McD Rasul Douglas and Linval Joseph mitigate the losses. McDermott is simply a choke artist. He turns into Brandon Staley when we play good teams.
  22. **** McDermott GTFO of Buffalo
  23. Because McDermott burned our timeouts.
