  1. I don't see them making a big move. Coleman is the earliest Wr drafted by Beane. I also think he is very high on Shakir. Slot and Z will be interchangeable by Samuel and Shakir.
  2. My point he is filling in for a large outside wr. Similar strengths and weaknesses. Playing a few snaps out wide for Mia is a different animal with plays designed for Waddle and Hill. Not being part of the gameplan but having a style of play that is.
  3. I think it shows they have role they want filled in the offense. Coleman is a style of wr Allen hasn't had and the offense hasn't utilized. I think Shorter, Shavers and Claypool will compete to be the primary back up to Coleman. Hollins though could be that I see him more as Davis/Sherfield role. He is solidly the 4th wr. Isabella and Hamler are also on the roster. I think one of them makes it as well. Slot and deep threat ability with returner duties.
  4. Defenses really stopped worrying about Diggs getting down field. The offense was fine without getting production from both. Coleman in a condensed set will help in the run game and also provide those big slot routes. Claypool has his best chance since Pittsburgh to produce. Mcdaniel saw him as a te. Could be the primary back up for Coleman. Obvious big role is being developed for him.
  5. He is paid as a starter. Samuel and Shakir will get a bunch of targets in the area Diggs and Beasley operated for years. Samuel adds the backfield and jet sweep element without having personnel tip off the defense.
  6. I assume he waited til after the draft. Claypool is probably who Beane was referring too. Claypool is at the same age but carries more potential than any 6 or 7 rounder they could have selected. Shavers, Shorter, Claypool and Cephus fight for wr 5 or 6.
  7. Has potential and probably the best path to make the roster and a role. Low risk full off season with a real qb maybe he matured and takes advantage. At his age athletic profile its a no brainer move. I would almost write Hollins on the roster in sharpie at this point.
  8. I do not see any difference in any name on this list. All of them put up numbers 2 to 3 years ago. Picking the younger guys inspires some hope they could reach those numbers again. Post draft FA signings are all similar unless its a real deal with real guaranteed money like Flloyd last season.
  9. I think Jones and Spector are battling for the Matekavic role. Special teams but offer something on defense in coverage if needed.
  10. The spring battle of Claypool and Shorter for the title of camp hero will be entertaining. Shorter has the age and draft capital but Claypool has the better nickname.
  11. After draft and UDFAs they still are a few shy of 90. These are guys who could make the roster but are vet min guys. Im not sure Beane does anything of note at wr in June. Maybe end of camp if they do not see growth from Coleman or Shakir.
  12. Low risk move. Has the tools that if he puts it together can be more than camp body. Played special teams the last few years so a strong contestant to be the 5th or 6th wr. Honestly, I will take MapleTron over a late day 3 pick at wr.
  13. Only way? No. But no different than Mikes. They do similar things pre snap a Qb does. This is not highschool or college where you call a play and thats it. Some defenses have a handful of coverages some have more. By utilizing the split saftey look they have the ability to do much more. Mcdermott is a Shanahan McVay defensive coach. His defense changes week by week. At mike and Safety they need guys comfortable with the whole defense to not only execute the game plan but handle the gameday adjustments in real time and keep the defense sound.
  14. Thats my point. He was giving the full red carpet treatment you could at 19/20. Come practice time saw they needed a return guy and raised his hand. I like the way be carries himself and physicality he plays with. Going to be real easy to root for.
  15. He is the backup center. If McGovern is a lesser center than guard this gives them the ability to move him back.
  16. I do not expect Samuel to take over that role. I think its likely he sees more volume than he has at any point in his career. I think the targets go Kincaid, Shakir, Samuel, Coleman and Cook. Coleman may move up that list but I think Kincaid and Shakir will be the early driving forces. Everyone bringing up analytics with Coleman but want to ignore it when explaining the decisions made this offseason in the wr room. The most effective pass catchers in 23 for Buffalo were Kincaid, Shakir and Cook. What changed midway through the season? They moved targets away from Diggs, Davis and Knox to Shakir, Kincaid and Cook. Coleman out of the box will take the Davis role and similar targets maybe a tick less but more efficient catch rate. They building off last year but upgrading the complimentary pieces.
  17. Walking into FSU from Michigan St and basically being the guy instantly is impressive. Big time NIL get and tells coach make me the return man. Not many players in the NIL, transfer portal world have that mindset.
  18. Only way to slow modern day passing attacks. Having the ability to change pre-post snap looks is how you create mistakes and turnovers. Getting in and out of coverages when offenses use formation and motion to stress defensive principles is how you avoid big plays. Mcdermott got his guy lets see what he does.
  19. Yes. 20 years old and has concentrated only on wr for 2 years. PFF pods are all over the place with him. There are outliers and he very well could be. Reasonable analyst pretty much agree, clean up somethings and no one would be surprised he is successful.
  20. I think he was looking to add core pieces. Allen keeps the Bills in the race. Getting younger was needed everywhere. They did that. 2025 they have alot of draft capital and cap space. Gearing up for the new stadium in 26. Its a rebirth of the team. Young guys need to step up. Shakir and Kincaid on offense. Benard and Rousseau on defense. Cook and Oliver did it last year. Still favorites in the East. Need guys to make plays to go further than they have.
  21. Who wanted to trade down? That was a spot where everyone had the guy they want fall into their lap. Eagles? Nope. Steelers? easy to say just move up but the the only move was by Jacksonville and pretty obvious they were looking for the same guy.
  22. 20 plus yard passes year over are the least predictable stat year over year. Its the passing version of fumble recover rate. The offense needs to be built on the short and intermediate. Allen has the ability to generate big plays out of structure. Coleman may be able to develop a back shoulder with Allen but those are less efficient plays. Good to have it in your bag but cannot live off of it.
