  1. I'd call the chances that Beane will pick someone that everyone here loves "slim."
  2. We would have had half the # of draft picks over the years if posters here were making the decisions on draft weekend.
  3. No impact players will be available within the course of 4 picks?
  4. The draft has become like a video game or something. It's not a bad thing to hang out at your pick and take the best guy on your board.
  5. We're standing pat. A lot of good teams do that in the draft sometimes - especially when they only have 6 picks.
  6. I might pop out for awhile if we don't pick a WR. Just in case anyone is wondering where I went.
  7. Still steep, imo.
  8. Why all the enthusiasm for a trade up? The draft is going well for us. Beane probably has at least 3 guys he'd be happy w/ at 27 right now.
  9. We only have 6 picks. I'd be shocked if we traded to move up. More likely to see a trade down if anything.
  10. Nice to be on a couch surrounded by women & getting picked in the 1st round of the NFL draft. What am I doing wrong w/ my life?
  11. RB's are too devalued. I'd bet that ends up being a great pick for Atlanta.
  12. I'm glad if this story is true. The cost/benefit wasn't there w/ Hopkins. It just would have been a splashy move that would have taken away from other areas that can move the needle more.
  13. I always kind of wonder when posters here say a guy was a reach, or a steal, or whatever, and then talk about where they have a player on their board - what are they basing it on? Just mocks they've seen, and some youtube? Scouts and GM's do this 24x7, and have seen more footage and done more interviews than anyone here could possibly do. I get called a homer on draft weekend, but I'm usually all in on whoever they pick. Beane hasn't been an outstanding drafter, but he has been solid, and just the work he has done in making the Bills a contender again have earned him the benefit of the doubt, at least w/ me.
  14. The circumstances portrayed in the movie are absolutely preposterous, but I love watching it. I love the dynamics between the owner, coach & GM presented - I think that kind of push & pull is probably the most accurate thing, with each party having different priorities. And who doesn't love "pancake eating motherf****r?"
  15. I have no player expectations. The only "need" I'd see if MLB - we can roll w/ what we have, but I'd like to see it addressed. Overall, when the draft is done, I'd like to be able to say something along the lines of "I love how they focused on the trenches."
  16. I hope he has a great contract year, like Edmunds. People said we were all in for the SB last year - but I see it this year. Let's get Oliver's best year to help get us there. The guy can play - he just needs to show up every week.
  17. A lot of googling. It may be my biggest googling night of the year. Focus on the "strengths" section of each visited page, and downplay the weaknesses.
  18. I like linebackers. If they pick one in the 1st, I think my reaction will be "cool."
  19. I'm less worried this season than last season. I think the Bills will be a surprise to the league - as opposed to last year, where we fell short of expectations. I think most are expecting Buffalo to take a step back. I think the 2023 team will be better, in just about every area. Some of my expectation is based on health - we lost too many key guys last year, and even some guys who played were struggling w/ an injury (Phillips, Poyer, Davis - even Brown because of the time he missed preseason). But I also like the players we've acquired so far, and see upgrades on the O line, at RB and WR. Damien Harris alone changes how the offense looks significantly. The best thing about that long-term is that our 3 division rivals have all made significant moves to try to take our crown - and if they fall short, their owners could be more likely to make even more drastic moves to bridge the gap. That can turn into a somewhat endless cycle, as Bills fans know.
  20. The fans there who are under 40 are just in a different league. We're all homers in a way - we all convince ourselves of positive things about our team. But that group is literally delusional (not the figurative "delusional" people often use). It's entitlement, and a cautionary tale about what too much winning can do to fans that haven't known anything else. I'm enjoying everything that has happened in the past few years - and I'll enjoy it even more when Belichick retires or goes to another team. It is good for my soul to see the tables turn like this. But, of course - they're a Bruins town now.
  21. The hated Patriots are the blueprint for me. They never invested a lot in the WR position, except one time - they had a top tier QB, and believed in protecting that QB and giving him more time in the pocket. Brady made plenty of middlin' receivers look great that way. We do NOT need to keep investing in WR's. Our current group is a really good one. I have seen so much talk on this board about how you have to have an elite #2 also. I wholeheartedly disagree w/ that. If the Bills can build a top 5 O-line, the rest takes care of itself. Allen can do the same thing Brady did - make guys like Edelman, who we likely would barely have heard of if he was on some other teams, a star.
  22. It wouldn't shock me if we didn't pick a WR at all. And I don't think that would a bad thing. Improving the line should be the top priority. Allen will make all of the guys we have stars if he has more time.
  23. Patriots fans are in full cope mode. At least we still have the best QB in the division, and a great team. The Patriots should now finish in last place, barring crazy circumstances.
  24. Bills have more of an uphill climb to defend the division crown - but it's not as brutal as it looks. We're still the best team in the east, and we still have the best QB.
  25. It's good to have some positivity on here.
