The thing is, if he has an off year as a DC, IMO that hurts his brand. I’ve never seen a HC that has had the success McDermott has had take a step back in the coaching ranks. Especially in a business where much less successful head coaches continue to be recycled.

I will say this. Miami could have reached out to this guy. The team McDermott seemed to own. Nothing though.I would think you would have heard, even if Sean declined an interview with them, or any team for that matter, but we haven’t. If McDermott wanted to take a year off I think everyone would know that by now.
