  1. Look, I don’t care either way. His cap savings aren’t much (you saw 3.5, I saw 1.5). It’ll come down to what the coaches saw on the practice field and film rooms. If cutting Star means signing Harry, then cut Star 100%. If cutting means Eli and Byrant are playing meaningful snaps next year, then maybe we keep him. I do feel confident he’s likely to be an end of summer release, if it happens. Doing it now doesn’t make much sense unless there’s something in his contract.
  2. Yes, but he also showed up to camp in noticeably great shape and turned out his best season in nearly 5 years.
  3. What off field issues? Catching Covid? Getting injured? While I too would love another high impact stat stuffer, Star isn’t a horrible player for what he is… a dude who ties up double teams and makes life easier for other players. He actually had solid production stats wise for playing 47% of the snaps. I really think the only way he is released is if he doesn’t make the final 53 due to being the 3rd or 4th DT (I’m assuming they bring back Harry). If the team moves on from Hughes and Mario, Star would be the only vet DL and you all know how McD feels about having vets in the room.
  4. 14mi cap hit this year, 20 mill dead cap. Cutting him saves the Saints no money.
  5. Outstanding, Glenn, Cogs, and Wood hit another level playing for Cromer.
  6. This is an A+ hire. McDermott is NOT messing around.
  7. Yes, he struggled with injures and Covid. He also showed up in great shape. His 2021 season was solid, I’m not sure 1.5 million in cap savings is worth it. He’s a decent player and the players love him. He’s 32, we will see what the team does.
  8. He’d have to be released by the Panthers and they’re paying his either way.
  9. Handcuffed by McD? McD has had to take play calling over from LF several times over the years.
  10. What guys and gals do… Mario Kart?
  11. I could see D. Williams restructure. Mongo, Star, Klein, and Beasley face a ‘restructure or release’ scenario. I know the team is only around 9 million right now, but they can open it up to ~25 if need be. I think he was being sarcastic…?
  12. that tweet was oozing with sarcasm lol
  13. Fitz has never been on a playoff roster, this is the perfect swan song for him. Add a rookie to develop.
  14. Whatever, it’s clear this board just wants someone to complain about. Doesn’t matter what positive stats or examples are provided that suggest maybe our TWENTYTHREE year old MLB can still develop and is worth hanging on to. Crazy to suggest he actually isn’t a bad player. I think Matt Milano would make a better Mike, Edmunds could excel in the Lorenzo Alexander role. It’ll be interesting to see if it happens. ✌️
  15. Because it was just Edmunds, everyone else was great. He isn’t perfect, but he’s not at easily replaceable as everyone thinks. No lol I kicked a bee hive and started swatting! I’ll definitely agree I wish we used him differently, I feel like MLB highlights his weaknesses and limits his strengths. PFF is a joke. He should be the most targeted LB in the NFL in pass coverage, right? How’d the rookies do in pass defense this year?
  16. I’m going to choose to spot something else to do.
  17. No. Edmunds fairs pretty well against the run. Not elite, not great, but solid. What I’m saying is if allowing 75% completions ‘sucks’ for a LB, the the overwhelming majority of NFL Linebackers suck. Target Bobby Wagner 10 times in coverage, you’ll complete 8. In this defense at that position, expect a similar ‘stat line’ and hope he can ‘quarterback’ the defense as well as Edmunds does.
  18. I guess what I’m saying is most LBs struggle with the things Edmunds has struggled with. Switch him out with Bobby Wagner, the defense likely looks the same.
  19. 17 represents love/peace or sin/evil? Sounds perfect then.
  20. That’s fine, the coaches don’t seem to 🤷🏻‍♂️ Most NFL LBs aren’t good in coverage. Edmunds is on par with everyone else. He’d just be swapped out with someone slower, weaker, smaller, and older.
  21. Just wait until it adds Fitzpatrick.
  22. Here’s a fun exercise. Go to Pro Football Reference, search up names of top LBs this year. Go to advanced game logs for 2021, note it has how many times a LB was targeted in coverage, what the completions and percentage were. Go look at all the LBs you’d rather have over Edmunds. Look at their missed tackle percentage. Now go look up Edmunds. His numbers are rock solid. Completion percentage against him is respectable, and his targets are low. Read that again, go double check the numbers. His targets are low. They should be sky high, triple digits. QBs don’t challenge him much. Why? Why? Because he’s steady and consistent. He defends a respectable amount of passes (this was actually his worst statistical year in coverage) and he misses a low percentage of tackles. I think I understand what the coaches absolutely love about this kid. He’s a great leader, great field communicator, and he’s consistently steady (even though fans want splashy). Fun side note, after go check Matt Milano’s numbers. Dude is an elite coverage LB which also plays into why Edmunds doesn’t always pass the eye test.
  23. That’s not a bad nickname “May I present the King maker, drought breaker, defender of the north and conquer of the East. Josh Allen of Buffalo, first in his name.”
