The Crash and Burn Will Not Be Pretty
dgrochester55 replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Go play outside little boy. I initially replied to you with a balanced post and you replied with a typical dismissive authoritarian extremist far left message. The fact is you are extreme left to a point of toddler like irrationality and I am center-right. I promise you that I look at all sides more than you. I 100% guarantee it. You on the other hand are a lump of flesh that broadcasts NBCNews and CNN 24/7. Your last two posts proved it. I hope that more people on the left act like you so that there can be two more red landslides in 2026 and 2028. The country is done putting up with the adult toddlers on the far left. Marginalized? How about our veterans and homeless who are US citizens being denied services because of people who don't live here. you tone deaf, hypocrite? Oh, and don't "Sources please" me on that because it is happening in most cities in the country and can easily be found in a Google search, unless you are willing to ignore it like you. Your inconsistent empty virtue signaling falls flat and comes off as willfully turning a blind eye to American citizens. It is best to end this discussion here because it is clear that you have nothing valuable to add to this conversation. If i want your opinion in the future, I'll turn to CNN. What did Vanuatu do to deserve that? -
This is not surprising. Far left politicians such as Lori Lightfoot and Cori Bush had security detail that many times larger than average compared to people in similar positions. What makes this more outrageous is that it is as the expense of regular people. Extreme progressive crime measures not only make things unsafe, but turn protection into a luxury instead of a service. One of many reasons why the Republicans became the party of the people over the last 15 years.

The Crash and Burn Will Not Be Pretty

Vital services in every city being overtaxed or overburdened, increased unreported (key word, don't google me a hand picked stat about how crime is "lower than ever") crime, sex trafficking and gang activity. Funny how far left people STILL have a tone deaf response to this issue after everything. I apologize for expecting a rational reply from you. That is my mistake. -
The Crash and Burn Will Not Be Pretty

There has to be a balanced way to address this. No president seems to have found that. George W. Bush (who I generally wasn't a fan of) came closest to this by proposing temporary visas/workpasses for three to six months to address the labor need for those industries, but that got massive pushback from both sides. I have multiple family members who were born in different countries, so I have no problem with immigration when done legally. I have always thought that the best balance would be making the legal process easier overall in exchange for a crackdown on illegal immigration. Not just for the US citizens, but for the protection of those coming in. It is a lot easier for immigrants to fall victim to trafficking and work scams when they are undocumented. -

Because the media has conditioned them to think that for the past four years. Many people on both sides of the spectrum think that they have their own opinion, but in reality do not go beyond taking the word of their favorite news network as gospel and repeating it. -
NFL officiating is broken. How do we fix it?
dgrochester55 replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Last year, I saw a lot of biased calling serious enough to make people entertain the thought of rigged. This year, not so much outside of the KC/Cincy game. but instead just flag fests and general incompetence across the board. The Bills/Jets game stands out as an example but there are plenty of others. It makes some games unwatchable. Too many subjective calls and rules open to interpretation. Even the officials appear to be confused in some instances. The NFL needs to reform officiating. Maybe a streamlining of the rules and/or some types of automated instant verification as a backup option for officials. I am tired for three or four commercial breaks solely due to officials conferring in each game. -
I am not surprised that some of Chicago went Republican, things were a mess. This video is a good watch. It is from about one year ago. The guy is not political and focuses solely on travel, and the day to day life of people in parts of the world. I always figured that the illegal immigration was an issue on some level, but this opened my eyes to just how much it effects people. The ones hurt the most are our homeless and marginalized US citizens. It is a long video, but the first 10-15 minutes is enough to give you the jist of it. I can't imagine even the leftiest of the left not understanding that something different needs to happen after seeing this.

I have no interest in seeing a slave market. It was a dark time in history. However, I still am confused about the less than 100 years comment. Unless you are in Mauritania, slavery has been banned for over 100 years. https://www.reuters.com/article/world/chronology-who-banned-slavery-when-idUSEIC168691/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavery_in_Mauritania

RFK Jr: CONFIRMED Trump 47 HHS Secretary
dgrochester55 replied to BillsFanNC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I don't like I don't like people refusing to give their kids Polio and MMR shots because they still think it will cause Autism. I also don't like making an experimental vaccine mandatory to the point where people's jobs and ability to get basic assistance was threatened before the Supreme court stepped in. Certainly there has to be a middle ground, right? The media wants us to think otherwise, but I think that the sharper 90 percent of society would agree with me. I do not think that RFK Jr. would ban vaccines, just give people more freedom and put measures in place to avoid repeating what we had with Fauci. Trump is not anti-vax and his operation warp speed helped to get vaccines out. He would not appoint someone who would ban vaccines. This is not a bad cabinet pick. Gaetz on the other hand? Yikes! -
Democrats need to be more moderate and go back to their roots of being in touch with the working class. Simple as that. Celebrities, the squad and big tech executives do not represent the blue collar and white collar workers making 30-100k. Moral issues are less likely to be a concern when a person is working two jobs and living check to check. Traditionally, the democrats have done a better job of getting that but that did not happen this time around. This country has a history of adjusting to the center a few years after the extreme part of a party gains power. This is what happened. Regular people and some newer democrat politicians seem to have gotten this after the election. Unfortunately for those on the left, , the establishment politicians, celebrities and children in university bubbles have not understood this yet and they are the most vocal on social media.

The problem that most on the left fail to realize is that nearly every thing that Trump is being accused of doing if elected was done to some extent over the last four years over the last regime. •Misinformation? What about basing your election campaign on scaring the masses into thinking that Project 2025 will be rolled out on day one despite Trump and Vance explicitly denouncing it numerous times? •Discrimination? What about denying people life saving service after a natural disaster because they indicated their desire to vote for a candidate on their front lawn? •Freedom of choice and body autonomy? What about the fact that the media and millions of dems were pushing to make employment and food contingent on getting an unproven experimental vaccine and that millions were a supreme court decision away from losing their jobs if they didn't do so? •Threat to Democracy? What about using the media to help you hide the cognitive decline of Biden for three years, throwing him under the bus once it was too obvious to hide and then hand picking a candidate to replace him without a primary? Or we can focus on the use of courts to try to put Trump in jail and the sudden mysterious dismissal of charges when he is elected. Lets not forget about two assassination attempts that many on the left tried to dismiss as not a big deal because they didn't kill him. •Being out of touch with the people? What about using the media to tell us that the economy and crime were better than ever for four years while millions of people's complaints were constantly dismissed as anecdotal or not trying hard enough? •Being hypocrites? What about the Climate Change push. telling everyone that they must buy an electric car, stop eating meat and emotionally scarring/guilt tripping so many little kids that a new disorder was named after it, while at the same time glorifying Obama for throwing giant celebrity parties at mansions and having the media real time track to see if Taylor Swift will make the Super Bowl on time in her private jet from Japan to see her boyfriend play? People saw through it and the results showed it. At worst, the Trump election is a lateral move, and that is only if he did all of the corrupt and horrible things that the media has conditioned the masses into thinking that he will do. If he doesn't, then it is an improvement.

Hitler In The White House
dgrochester55 replied to BillsFanNC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I voted for Trump purely on a lesser of two evils approach and told myself that I would be at peace and move on regardless of the result of the election. However, after seeing how badly Harris mismanaged money in her campaign and the fact that the use of FEMA as a political tool most likely went beyond one employee, I am starting to realize just how much we dodged a bullet. -
AG Pam Bondi and The Trump 47 DOJ
dgrochester55 replied to BillsFanNC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I like most of the cabinet picks so far, but am not a fan of this one, just because of the underage issue and reputation. However, I am sure that he will still be better than the socialist professors and underqualified DEI checkbox hires that we would have seen under Harris -
To be quite honest, I am not sure of the exact role of the inspector general, but if they are supposed to be doing what Trump tasked musk and vivek to do, it is not being done well. I could see how this agency gets corrupted just like everything else, but the idea of the government having open books for accountability is great and one that I appreciate no matter which president proposes it. Similar to draft a first round QB, this is the equivalent of drafting a QB because the old one is not working. DOGE is like Josh Allen, the inspector general form the previous administration is like Nathan Peterman. You must not have been the only one. Dogecoin went up from 12 to 40 cents over the past week, lol.

Everything has a bias, but the mainstream media is the equivalent of a pathological liar. CNN and NbcNews tried to hide Biden's decline until it was so painfully obvious, then threw him under a bus until he resigned. Outside of the two weeks between Trump first assassination attempt and Biden's resignation, the media campaigned for the democrats 24/7. They took a clearly outlying poll in Iowa and threw it on the front page like it was a trend two days before the election. That was irresponsible at best and deceptive at worst. Fox is not any better on the other side, remember how they overpushed the election being stolen four years ago? The presence of social media is the mainstream media's worst enemy because it just takes a person with a camera to expose the lies on the news. For example, CNN might make a Harri srally look packed until a person's take a photo of a cell phone camera showing 30 people crowded in two rown and an otherwise empty room. When the system that is supposed to be providing you neutral information is lying, people tend to look at sources that they may not normally regard.

If the DOGE results in the government disclosing what theier books to the people for accountability, that makes it a lot harder to get away with wasteful spending. What is wrong with that? Why is that a bad thing?
-
I have mixed feelings about Trump's choices and was one that voted more against Harris than for him, but I absolutely love this idea. People do not realize just how ineffective government spending is. I have always wanted the government to have mandatory open books. Once the wasteful spending is cut, there will be a lot more to go around for all of the vital services and programs.

Who will be in trumps cabinet?
dgrochester55 replied to 4th&long's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Can't be any worse than making selections solely based on DEI checkboxes. -
More people getting news from Social media is what happens when news turns into propaganda riddled media entertainment designed to tell their fan base what to be pissed off at next. Both sides do it. Just like wrestling fans can choose between WWE and AEW for their favorite brand of sports entertainment, people can choose between Fox and CNN for their preferred brand of media entertainment based on their ideology.

I do not know if what Trump has in mind will work, but I do know that what we have in place now is not working. We all know that the US is less competitive than ever academically, but it is even more than that. I have heard countless horror stories from various people both personally and online on how ineffective schools are including teachers and admins in school districts. If you have one or two disruptive kids, everything slows down at the others kids expense to coddle them. Entitled and bratty kids rule the roost and teachers cannot do a thing. Much higher ratios of functionally illiterate kids in middle school and high school. Teacher are taking retirement as soon as they are able and school have made teaching less enticed by changing pension qualifications from 20 to 40 years and replacing previously good health benefits with the same high deductible junk that most of us are stuck with. If I was a college student, why would I want to be a teacher now?
