This is 100% what it is.

Go ahead then, condemn the actions, and then move on like the rest of us.

Because absolutes and outrage are always a winning combo. Look, it was in bad taste, but they did it because it was an opponent and a rival, not because of race. You are choosing to make it about race and trying to force us all to go along with it. Cut it out. If it is that offensive to you, find the three people that put it up (who happen to be black according to other TBD posters who were there), and tell them why they are racists. It was a poor judgement call and nothing else.

It was in poor taste and shouldn't have been done, but some in the media will blow it out of proportion turning it from a three or four to a nine or ten on the drama scale. Part of the media's job in 2024 is to tell everyone who or what to be outraged and pissed at next.

I am not surprised that members of the extreme left would deny life saving government aid to visible supported of their opponent. -The extreme left is willing to let people take assassination attempts at an opposing candidate and then dismiss it as not a big deal because they weren't successful. -The extreme left has followers willing to tweet rants above violence, leaving the country and changing the government for weeks after an election despite insisting that questioning an election was taboo for the previous four years. -Worst of all, the extreme left is so vindictive about the election that they would rather start a nuclear war before handing off the presidency than have a peaceful transition. These people were the real threats to democracy the entire time

I am waiting for CNN and NBCNews to play the "Trump got us into world war 3" card when the war escalates in January directly because of Biden's senile at best/vindictive at worst missile decision. Remember, this is the same party and media that use to tell us that the economy is better because of Biden by comparing 2020 to 2022 stats while conveniently forgetting that there was a global pandemic in 2020.

The American Media Should Not Be Trusted
dgrochester55 replied to SCBills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I caught the 60 minutes intro after the game and heard them crying about the cabinet nominations. Note to the speaker, Just because it has a newsy sounding professional tone doesn't means that it isn't just as whiny, irrational and baseless as the screamers and adult toddlers on TikTok. -

More than you. -
Can we give them their own building, let them play pretend cabinet and make them think that it is real?. Kind of having have a toddler who wants to help mommy cook and putting a toy kitchen in the dining room so they think that they are helping but in reality, it is keeping them out of your way. We could even generate fictional news articles and videos solely for the DC area making them think that they have power and that their policies are being implemented. Since, they would likely never leave their little DC bubble, they would be unlikely to notice the real life news outside of it.

Allen, Dawkins and that is it, but this is a good situation to be in. We have a lot of above average to good players and more depth than most teams. Assuming that there is a rational plan to replace them, there isn't really anyone else on the roster outside of Allen that would provide enough of a loss to be the sole difference between whether or not they contend for the playoffs.

My mistake on the wording of "were a doctor", I understand how the licensing process goes, just a poor choice of words. No intent to discredit you there. I can see why you may think otherwise based on my recent posts, but I am far from a MAGA. I am center-right and somewhere between Republican and Libertarian. I despise authoritarianism and speak out against whatever I see as the biggest immediate threat. Recently, in my opinion has been the far left. If Trump was to ever go extreme and do what your side thinks he is going to do, I will be just as vocally against that. I also feel like mainstream media (from both sides) is a much larger culprit in the polarization of this country than any politician on the left or right.

I don't doubt that they saved lives. Since you were a doctor, you have insight that most people would not. My problem was the monopoly on the mRNA options. J&J was pulled from the market because the media exaggerated the risk of blood clots. Novavax was banned here until 2023 despite working well in other countries. People should have had options and it should have been up to individual work places to decide on vaccine guidelines. I personally wanted something that was likely to stop me from getting COVID instead of giving me a milder version. I edited my initial ineffective comment to clarify that I meant ineffective in the long term. The mRNA's vaccine saved lives, they were the best short term solution, but there were risks involved. Those risks would normally keep it from being in the market, but it was understandably released on an emergency basis. I just don't think that it should have been mandatory. I think that everyone had a right to be made aware of their options and do what they thought was best instead of being pressured to take limited choices.

That post is so 2021. In case the election didn't clue you in, toxic conformity is out of style. Before you resort to the childish anti-vax label, I got the J&J in may of 2021 and the Novavax last year. I believe in vaccines, when they work and and they are not forced. The mRNA vaccines were clearly ineffective in the long term, all they did is mask the sickness instead of preventing it or stopping it from spreading. Even our current president has had COVID three times despite getting every shot and booster. I understand that it was helpful in the severity, but it also caused it to spread around more and if COVID ends up being correlated with a much higher risk of auto-immune disease(something that is being researched) it royally screwed a lot of people. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7289100/ https://www.yalemedicine.org/news/antibodies-from-long-covid-patients-provide-clues-to-autoimmunity-hypothesis https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/immunology/articles/10.3389/fimmu.2024.1337406/full Regardless, there was no excuse for the camps/no work/no food mentality. We never would have even talked about doing that for effective proven vaccines before COVID. Why, other than fear mongering and mob mentality were we suddenly talking about this for an unproven experimental one? Edit: Added sources and clarified my ineffectiveness comment.
-
"But...but.....but, it was about muuuhhhhhh saaaaaaafety!!" Never forget that we were just a Supreme Court decision away from needing to take an experimental unproven vaccine in order to have a job and survive. I saw many friends and acquaintances who I would have previously seen as rational and nice people say things on social media that made me think that i was in a dystopian parallel universe. I didn't understand how people could get to the point of turning in neighbors for hiding Jews in Nazi Germany until COVID happened. It was a sad wake-up call on just how dark human nature can be sometimes.

Now that you have admitted that your sole source is NbcNews, I understand why you have your viewpoint. Some of my sources besides trying whenever possible to look up peer reviewed journals and legal documents. As far as media I rely on middle of the road sources such as News Nation, Reuters, WSJ along with some local news networks. I watch a little of Fox and CNN, but only to understand what propaganda will come from both sides. I don't waste time with extreme sources on either side like NbcNews or Newsmax. -

No, it is not, period. Truth might hurt, but it doesn't change things. "Primary sources" to people like you are CNN, NBCNews and the first result on a Google search that matches your agenda.
