That was my case for the past 6 years. ST for free, other discounts. I am always OVERLY nice and polite when I call and have never had any issues. All the sudden this year it no longer works. I was told "we believe you;re paying a fair price, we have no current offers". So I told them I would have to cancel and they sent me to the cancellation guy without hesitation. I know I was speaking to the right people for the discounts, loyalty specialists - customer retention, the same department I spoke to the previous 6 years.

I ditched DTV this year during the season because my bill tripled and they stopped giving me loyalty discounts. My buddy loaded up a pirate program on my Firestick, $40 for 6 months, 100's of channels, pay per view, premium channels, adult channels and all the major sports like NFL Sunday ticket, MLB, NHL, NBA packages too, international channels, and I got the local Buffalo broadcast for every game. 10/10 will live the pirates life form now on. That being said, these sites, even though sometimes reliable, can be shut off at any time so it is a gamble. I was lucky and the program I used worked flawlessly all season, but I know it could not work at any moment and I currently don't have a back-up plan, but I'm sure I'll be able to quickly find another service.

Did the chat today, took about 5 minutes. Told them my financial situation has changed and without a bill reduction I would need to cancel and the entire reason I have it is for SUNDAY TICKET. They signed me up for SUNDAY TICKET MAX at $69.95 per month for 6 months ($419) - Then gave me $15 off Sunday ticket for 6 months ($90) and $30 of my entire bill for 12 months ($360) for a total discount of $450. Which means I get Sunday ticket MAX for free this season. All I pay is my normal bill, which is $67.98 a month after taxes for (1) DVR 4K receiver plus their most basic channel package. Over the course of the year I pay a total of $840 to DirecTV. If I was to go to bars to watch the Bills game with my wife we would average a food / drinks / tip tab of about $125 a week (we like to live well!) minus the 2 times they play jets (on my local stations) and 1 time they have Monday or Thursday night game (So 13 bar tabs at about $125 each), I would be spending approx. $1625 a year at bars watching bills football. So In essence I get to save 50% of my yearly NFL budget, watch the games in the comfort of my home and do as I please while I'm there. Wanna smoke a joint and watch the game pants-less? No problemo, I'm home! I get the audio for my game, since most bars have the home team Audio on I'm deep in Jets / Giants territory). And when the weather is nice I can drag a TV outside with a long HDMI and extension cord and watch the game from my backyard.

Hangovers are 100% dehydration. It doesn't matter what you drink. Make sure to be hydrated by either drinking water while you drink alcohol, or making sure you get plenty of electrolytes before and after drinking alcohol. It's a myth that different types of alcohol can cause more or less hangovers. In my opinion the best way to stay hydrated is to mix a 1/4 tsp of Morton Lite Salt (Sodium / Magnesium / Potassium) with a bottle of water, shake it up and chug it down, add some Mio drops or something for flavor if you need it. One before you drink, one after and you should be all good. Try it out and you'll see.

The Jags clinched before us, and they didn't sell out to their own fans. It's embarrasing that after a 10 year drought that all of Jacksonville didn;t snap up every last ticket on the first day. If the Bills clinched a home playoff game there would be ZERO available tickets in under an hour. So by that metric alone, the Jags suck and their fans are snow birds who only eat early bird specials! Go Bills! Let's do some trophy hunting and bag ourselves a big, tame cat.

I sometimes feel bad for DirecTV (not too bad, don't worry..) because as an out of area Bills fan I was spending about $100 every week (Minus the 3 weeks they are on TV here - 2x vs Jets & Thursday night game). How was I spending $100? Well lunch, drinks & shots for my fiancee and I. She suffers through the games for me, so I pay the bill. Then depending on the severity of the Bills Anguish I suffer that game, a $20 cab ride home as well. That was close to $500 a month, 4 months a year. $2,000 to watch this crap??!!?? Anyway, DirecTV, full price with Sunday ticket full price + Max full price was still SIGNIFICANTLY lower than what I was paying at the bar. (Also, the bar was dave and busters and their food sucks...). My full price bill was $75 a month for 8 months, then $125 a month during the season - That was still about a $900 discount form going to the bar. But now I'm paying $59 a month for Sunday ticket, max & the movie channels. I feel like I'm taking advantage of them... But oh well, GO BILLS!

Just called in and asked for a retention specialist right away. Was connected with a very nice lady who called herself a "Loyalty Specialist". I told them I had to cancel because I was paying for a wedding (I am paying for a wedding, but it wouldn't stop me from watching my Bills!). She put me on hold for a few minutes and this was her offer (which I gladly accepted). My current contract - $75 a month for select package (Jumps up to $125 a month for Select with SundayTicket Max during season) Offer - Free upgrade to choice package channels, free Sunday ticket for the entire season, free upgrade to sunday ticket max also, $50 discount every bill for the next 12 months & free HBO for 12 months (no need to call and cancel, it automatically cancels itself). So my bill will now be $56 a month plus tax & fees for the next 12 months for Choice + Sunday Ticket Max + HBO. Just be nice on the phone, care about the other human on the other side of the phone. Ask how their day is, try to make them laugh and smile. They can give you whatever discount they want, if you're a dick you'll get nothing. When they tell you something isnt available, its because they just don't want to give it to you. They are authorized ot give these discvounts to everyone they see fit, the person on the phone is the judge. Also, not being a dick is good general life advice.....
