I had heard that, interesting that the link you posted talks about his high drop rate and then finishes by giving him a 2nd rnd grade. I have no doubt the drops were a big reason for his drop but I still have a feeling he is gonna be really good.
-
I didn't see any UB football this year and don't know much about him, I just know that he was on a lot of analysts big boards and was expected by many to be drafted. A lot of the receivers dropped lower in the draft than expected it seems. Hakeem Butler, a 6'5" speedy receiver with the most 20 plus yd rec of anyone in the draft went in the 4th rnd. Personally I think he will end up being a steal.
-
You only mention his weaknesses. The same guy who wrote that analysis gave him a 4th rnd grade.

WR ANTHONY JOHNSON, BUFFALO (OVERALL: 171ST) Among draft-eligible FBS wide receivers with at least 100 targets over the past two seasons, Johnson ranked tied for first in receptions of 15-plus yards (61) and second in yards per route run (3.48). I don't think the pff team of analysts are Buffalo homers, NFL.com had a 4th round grade on him. Pretty sure they are not homers either.

https://lastwordonprofootball.com/2019/04/23/dawson-knox-2019-nfl-draft-profile/ Here is a profile on Knox, mentions his sure hands and ability to catch the ball. How he rarely drops passes and his ability adjusting to the ball in the air and making diving catches. Also lists some of his weaknesses. -

You mention Knox had 15 catches on 28 targets, how many were drops of catchable balls? That is the only way of giving that stat a useful perspective. I know the qb was not that great and that stat alone doesn't tell us anything about Knox' hands. -
Ansah made $17,000,000 last year, I wonder what they are trying to get this year. If it is anything close to that forget about it. For their 17 mil the Lions got 11 combined tackles and 4 sacks.

I think WR Anthony Johnson will make a final roster this year, I am surprised he wasn't drafted. -
RD 3, Pick 74: RB Devin Singletary, Florida Atlantic

You're right, I didn't watch it. When I get a chance I will watch some of his tape. I am definitely not rooting against him, I hope it turns out he was an awesome pick. -
RD 1, Pick 9: DT Ed Oliver, University of Houston
Turk71 replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Oliver barely scratched the surface of his potential in college. He was playing nose tackle most of the time in Houston's 3-4. A 290 lb nose tackle taking on double and triple teams and still getting into the backfield. His build and skill set are far more suited to playing 3 tech in a 4-3 defense. Here is what football outsiders site had to say: 'In the NFL, Oliver will not be put in the same physically demanding positions he was at Houston. At Houston, he was often playing zero-tech -- a role designed for larger, squattier defensive lineman. It is safe to assume Oliver will primarily be a 3-technique in the NFL, just like the aforementioned Donald, Atkins, and McCoy. The 3-tech position is more conducive to leaner, more explosive players such as Oliver. Because the NFL loves to make the same mistakes over and over again, Oliver will probably fall in the draft for being "too small for the position." For almost every team that passes on him, doing so will be a massive mistake. Oliver's first step and NFL-ready savvy will make him a Sheldon Richardson-type impact right away, with the potential to develop into an All-Pro. Though Oliver will certainly get pushed down in this draft class, his level of talent is worth the first overall pick.' -

Against Ok 18 carries 69 yds 3.8 ypc , 26 of those yds on one carry; meaning 17 carries for 43 yds 2.5 ypc on the rest of them. Oklahoma had 25 defenders record at least one tackle which means the entire bench got to play. I am pretty sure he wasn't the best player on the field that day. -

Shady ran the 40 in 4.45, Singletary 4.66. Pretty big difference there. Singletary significantly slower in 3 cone drill, 20 yard shuttle, 10 yd split etc. Will be interesting to see if his style works against much much quicker and faster competition than he saw at FAU. I am a bit skeptical but hope to be pleasantly surprised. -

Antonio Brown was a 5th round draft choice, believe it or not those guys are out there. Hakeem Butler had more 20 yd plus catches than any receiver in the draft. He is 6'5" and ran 4.48. -

A lot of teams are wrong about a lot of guys. Tom Brady and Antonio Brown immediately come to mind. -

I am okay with the pick but having to use 2 picks instead of one hurts. If he doesn't work out it is twice as costly in lost opportunity. Gonna be tough watching the 4th round from the sideline. A lot of talent still out there, hope they can find a gem in the 5th. https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/draft-best-available-2019-nfl-draft-prospects Best remaining prospects according to pff team of analysts.
