  1. You bet it is. Alas, it's not all on the QB. Lots of players and coaching (from our OC) who didn't pull their weight. Oh in that list of stuff I mentioned I forgot about Logan Thomas, who could have simply caught a football. Instead, he didn't and it was intercepted. This team could use plenty of upgrades, QB included.
  2. Yesterday, think about how the complexion of that game might have been very very different if Thompson, O'Leary and Jones all didn't drop passes and Clay didn't step out of bounds. I'd also throw in the criticism of Dennison for calling an RPO, Taylor choosing the P, and Benjamin unnecessarily pushing off on Ramsey. Amazing that game was ours for the taking. Blaming Tyrod solely or even primarily is a vast oversimplification. Or it's instant gratification for those who assume that game was somehow proof that Taylor won't be in a Bills uniform next year, which still might happen, despite the overwhelming sentiment he's primarily at fault. Taylor missed a wide-open touchdown to O'Leary. Absolutely. That's one terrible throw or non throw. He missed a wide-open O'Leary I think on the right side learn on that last drive. That two terrible throws, or non throws. I love this thread: Can't wait for the All-22, but I was watching the game with about four other bills fans in a bar, two of who don't like Taylor at all and we all thought it was a little ridiculous of Romo to say that considering it looked like Taylor made the decision to throw and was releasing the ball before Thompson was getting open. In other words, the CB looked like he was reacting to where Taylor was going with the ball, which was the only reason Thompson got open. Let's upgrade. We have an arsenal of draft picks and I'm really excited about the draft. But good grief, can we cut the hyperbole?
  3. You sound awfully bitter. In fact, this sounds like the ole middle school "No I'm not! You are!" Cornhole, is that you?
  4. Defense? It's an idiotic statement. Like really really stupid. Just because you're hanging all over his jock about it doesn't make it correct. We seriously need an upgrade from Taylor. That's because we need a long term Franchise QB and Taylor's not that guy. That doesn't mean Taylor's what Cornhole said or even that he's terrible. I wish the world and the Internet weren't so damn full of trolls.
  5. Might happen. But what "relationship" are you referring to? Between player and coach or player and fans? If the former, I pretty much agree. If the latter, I think a lot of people have been trying to analyze consistently what McDermott thinks and feels and has been trying to do and have frequently been very wrong. Forgive me if I don't think the relationship between McDermott and Taylor is nearly as fractured as the media and public thinks.
  6. Yes. Our offense was terrible, we just put most of our blame in different places. You (and many) put most of it on Taylor. I put most of it on Dennison. And no, that's not me saying I want a new OC and Taylor here long term and it's not me saying Taylor doesn't share a significant chunk of the blame for our offensive woes. But what I seriously don't want is Dennison as the OC responsible for developing whoever we inevitably (yes, I think it's inevitable at this point) draft at QB in the 1st round. But I do understand that the popular thing to do after a loss or after a disappointing season (which this season wasn't... but with some of the posts today, you'd never know) is to break out the torches and pitchforks, so have your fun.
  7. or EJ Manuel. This is a ridiculous statement. Bortles was a helluva lot worse passing the football yesterday. While Taylor's problem yesterday (and for his career) were the throws he chose not to throw, Bortles actually threw the ball a whole bunch but was just wildly inaccurate. But this thread will inevitably get a whole bunch of mileage from the posters who are just frothing at the mouth to pounce on him.
  8. This was honestly something I thought about a lot over the year and was my ideal scenario, but it involved Indy with the #2 draft pick rather than the #3 pick. I think with the #3 pick they're even less likely to do something like this, which I don't think they were very likely to do to begin with. They couldn't risk losing the top 2 guys to the Browns AND the Giants. We would have won what? The record for most interceptions thrown in a football game? The record for the longest amount of time the football travelled through the air on 5 yard sideline out-routes? If so, you're probably right
  9. Yeah, but on the flip side of the RG3 trade up you have the Wentz and Goff trade ups. Right? I think it's just ridiculous that people actually believe Peterman is going to be a starter next year, at this point. There's very little he's produced on the field that would give any inkling he's capable of being an NFL starter, and as much as people want to say Peterman is "McDermott's guy," dude was drafted in the 5th round. With our 2nd pick of the 5th round. Peterman just doesn't have the arm strength to survive as a starting QB in Buffalo. They say this kind of stuff every year. One thing is for sure, this is NOT the 2013 dumpster fire of a QB class. Remember when Goff and Wentz were coming just a couple of years ago how there were questions of whether they should be taken in the top of the 1st round? This seems to be the game every year. I think Rosen, Darnold and probably Allen and Rudolph are pretty surefire 1st round caliber QBs. We'll see how Mayfield measures in at the combine... probably him, too. It's time to take our shot. It's the perfect year to do it with all the draft picks we've stockpiled. McDermott's proven that coaching and culture, in many ways, trumps talent. Except at the QB position. Get the QB who can elevate the franchise long term. Death then...
  10. I wish Jones didn't suck this year, but I have high hopes he'll massively improve next year. Benjamin?!?! You think we're getting rid of him? Ummm... nope. He's obviously a Bill next year. Don't know if Thompson is under contract, but hope he's around. Reilly and Streater are the other 2 who intrigue me. I think Matthews is let go and we'll draft a guy or maybe acquire a guy in FA. If Benjamin can get healthy and Jones can get rid of the rookie yips, our WR corps won't be as abysmal as it's been the last couple years.
  11. This is totally how I feel. Hyde and Poyer were absolute gems in Free Agency. And Poyer was a Diamond in the rough. I think with our Cap Space we're going to be pretty active in Free Agency anticipating we're going to give up some draft picks to move up in the 1st round of the draft. Really? I think Mayfield is going to be a good NFL QB. He's probably the guy I want 2nd most behind Darnold, though a distant 2nd and he's probably just lumped together with Rudolph and Allen, though Allen scares me.
  12. No, I just really don't want any of those other options at QB as our next "franchise QB." With Taylor's contract, things are set up to draft a QB I'm just completely get out from under the rug of him after 2018 and moved completely forward with a brand new QB. Taylor is just fine in Buffalo for one more year if it comes down to it. You really want to keep drawing this line in the sand, don't you?
  13. This roster full of "talent holes" just defied all expectations and made the playoffs. Get the QB you want McDermott.
  14. People are being douchebags in a thread expressing concern about a player who was knocked cold. Classless. Too bad Tyrod's and Peterman's contracts aren't flipped because I don't even know if Peterman is a capable backup anymore. Change your name. The only thing Peterman will ever be the savior of is a cold bench.
  15. Who says he has to feel good about him as the future? I think the The talk about veteran QBs is silly because I think McDermott wants to draft a guy high is my guess. Taylor would be the transition.
  16. No, he's not. The Jags are one of the most talented teams in the NFL and the Bills outplayed them most of the game with a lot less talent. Hell, your moniker had the opportunity to live up to itself... but unfortunately Peterman lacks the NFL arm to throw a common sideline out pattern. What will you be changing your name to?
  17. Tyrod because I don't want a veteran QB. I want to draft a QB high in the 1st, period. I think Taylor's more likely to still be in Buffalo next year with our 1st round pick than any of those other choices. As it says in the poll, Taylor's under contract.
  18. I agree... I'm just really baffled the national writers haven't figured that out.
  19. Me too. Again, the little I know about college football he gives me the biggest longterm hope we've had in the last 20+ years. I think I could get behind a pick of Rudolph or Allen, too. I don't think Mayfield, Rosen or Jackson are McDermott/Buffalo guys, though I think I kinda like Mayfield.
  20. Cleveland can be funny. They have #1 AND #4. I could see them sitting there at #1 and saying they have another pick in a few picks and will still get one of the top 3 QBs along with 2 more 1st round draft picks and more. Really wouldn't be a terrible move for them, either.
  21. Peterman sucks. I'm sorry, but he does. His weak a$$ arm is the sole reason that ball was intercepted when it should have been a completed pass. But yes, given a concussion to Taylor, Peterman would have started next week.
  22. And 3/6 predict that it's Nate Peterman. http://www.espn.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/30895/where-will-tyrod-taylor-play-in-2018-nfl-insiders-predict Good God! I hope not. Yet again, today I saw the reason I really didn't like Peterman at all in the offseason. That ball that was intercepted would've been a completed pass for anyone with an NFL arm. Peterman doesn't have the arm strength to be the starting QB in Buffalo. Anticipation is great, but he better throw his sideline out patterns as he's getting off the team bus to make sure it's not intercepted. I kid... I kid... Believe me, as soon as Taylor got knocked out of the game, I was screaming and rooting for Peterman as he ran for that first down and praying that he would win the game and lead us to some miracles. I did the same thing when he started against the Chargers. The other leaders in the ESPN insider clubhouse include Sam Bradford and Alex Smith. Really? They think this regime would prefer an aging vet??? One who's had how many healthy seasons in the NFL??? I guess these guys can't think outside the box and see that we're going to be going really hard at drafting a rookie QB, can they? My way to early prediction…? The top 4 picks include Cleveland twice, who neither Donald nor Rosen have reported wanting to play for and there's reported interest in Mayfield. The Colts, who don't need a quarterback. And the Giants, and Gettleman almost sounds like he might move forward with Eli for a couple more years. I think we are very likely prepared to give up our two first round draft choices along with our second round draft choice and probably next years 1st or maybe 2nd round draft choice to go up and get either Darnold or Rosen. Based on reports, sounds like Darnold, who I prefer based on the little I know, though he's a QB I realize we're likely to take some serious lumps with. I think Sam Darnold is our 2018 game 1 starter. That's my waaaAAAAAAAyyyyy too early prediction. Yours?
  23. It was a successful season. Period. 17 years of no playoffs and longest playoff drought in sports broken = Successful season Stop trolling
  24. Seriously? I was being as genuine as possible and even gave you a thanks for a reason. I was legitimately asking how to do this because I'd like to play around with it. Can you do the same query for Andrew Luck?
  25. Yeah it's definitely worked. I just don't love the "get a lead and hold on for dear life!" mentality going into the playoffs.
