  1. Literally posted the first video clip. Don't care what the article says and didn't read it because the clip is what matters. "Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” If I'm not reading that correctly, how am I supposed to read it? Sure sounds like a candidate asking for foreign interference... If I'm stupid, tell me how a smart person should view those comments... Nice Ad Hominem
  2. Yep. All that illegal stuff the Democrats did... Thank GOD Trump got an AG who will finally prosecute all those damn dirty Dems! And he will start with Andrew McCa... oh wait... but how many folks in the Trump orbit have served time or are going to jail? Interesting... Keep ignoring the aspects of our economy that Trump basically gets credit for not screwing up as far as economic momentum goes and what he's doing to our national debt thanks to insane military spending and a terrible tax plan. Yay for Trump and reaching that 4, 5 and 6% annual GDP he promised on the campaign trail... oh wait, he hasn't even reached 3% Judging by the posts and posters in here, I bet many of you are largely happy because of your 401Ks that you're currently living off (though even that actually grew at a larger rate under Obama), but a huge percentage of our country doesn't have one of those and isn't getting that benefit. Good job to 45 for not totally screwing up what 44 rebuilt. He sure is trying, though.
  3. Wait... are you people actually denying this happened???
  4. If you want to know why I can honestly say that I do now and have for the last 3+ years worried that Trump would be reelected while not thinking he would, it's because of the fight between my head and my heart whether the American people are stupid enough to reelect him. My confidence wavers because of crap like this: Trump will pretty much do anything within his power (and outside of it, for that matter... as demonstrated by what's been revealed in the last 6 months or so) to get reelected. Like him or not. Corrupt as hell or not. Blatant narcissistic liar or not... He's the most powerful man in the world. That's the reason so many on the left are frightened and worried. It doesn't mean he's going to be reelected, but we can worry about it because the electorate already looked past his own admissions of being a sexual predator and his own well documented bigotry and racism and his own well documented shady business dealings over decades and his own calls to foreign governments to interfere in our election, among other things. I'm a believer the old adage "fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me" will apply to the American people this time around as they have seen (and this part is simply undeniable) CONSTANT lies coming out of the White House. You seem to dislike lies so much... why do you find Trump's CONSTANT lying acceptable in any way? But once again, I am prepared for a 2nd term of Trump. That's because my bar for America's electorate is lower than it was when the day began on November 8th, 2016.
  5. Didn't say I wasn't a blind man myself. I'm just on a different part of the Elephant.
  6. Okay... you should all move away from the same tail then... or side... or ear... You're all blind and stuck on different parts of the same appendage shouting out similar descriptions and believing you have the correct holistic interpretation because you're all shouting similar things to each other.
  7. On a whim I clicked on "show this post" for one of my 2 ignores. Glad I did. The utter hypocrisy in this post made me LOL so hard I spit out my coffee. Thanks for that. Maybe you guys should divvy up the Elephant rather than all staying on different parts of the same Trunk. Just a thought.
  8. "Huh" she says. How and why do you guys sit over here using each other as conspiratorial sounding boards? Do you all honestly find this fulfilling? You must because a handful of you seem to live in this message board. For as hypercritical as many of you seem to be about anyone with left leaning views or anyone who thinks Trump is not a good President and Obama was, I feel like you've lost the noses in front of your eyes. So the Mueller investigation was a partisan witchhunt but the Durham investigation initiated by Barr isn't? I bet you also believe Barr's new sentencing recommendation for Stone was completely objective and Trump's public comments on that "too harsh" sentence was pure coincidence... because that just happens to be the story, right? How can you guys be okay with having always been lied to previously (as @Deranged Rhino likes to CONSTANTLY say) but be perfectly fine with countless lies coming out of the White House? This guy was supposed to drain the swamp. Dude is a swamp. Look at all the tax money he spends at his leisure on everything from golf outings (one of MANY lies he made... remember how critical he was of Obama for golfing too much and how he claimed he'd "never leave the White House?") to trips to his own resorts to military planes flying into his own resorts to... so DAMN MUCH!!! There are so many goddamn lies it's ridiculous! How are you fine with these lies but view MSM as the Devil? And for as utterly critical as many of you are of mainstream media and as much as you can cherry pick examples where they get things wrong, Journalists earn their credentials and are then also using pretty high bar "sourcing" standards set forth for professional journalists that simply don't apply to the bloggers on Twitter I see posted here consistently. And look, I think that's awesome that you're retired. Seriously. Congratulations! I'm quite sure you worked your butt off to get there. I have a feeling you're not the only one in this forum who is given the amount of time so many spend over here. But just because a lot of you have the time to read all these things not everyone does doesn't mean you're reading it all with the ability to properly decipher all of it. It reminds me of this parable: A group of blind men heard that a strange animal, called an elephant, had been brought to the town, but none of them were aware of its shape and form. Out of curiosity, they said: "We must inspect and know it by touch, of which we are capable". So, they sought it out, and when they found it they groped about it. In the case of the first person, whose hand landed on the trunk, said "This being is like a thick snake". For another one whose hand reached its ear, it seemed like a kind of fan. As for another person, whose hand was upon its leg, said, the elephant is a pillar like a tree-trunk. The blind man who placed his hand upon its side said the elephant, "is a wall". Another who felt its tail, described it as a rope. The last felt its tusk, stating the elephant is that which is hard, smooth and like a spear. Ever consider the possibility you might just be blind men & women feeling different parts of the same tail or side or tusk or trunk of an Elephant?
  9. This still hasn't happened??? I thought he was supposed to make his decision today?
  10. OR... maybe you guys over here are just a wee bit delusional on occasion... potentially from some of the pretty poor places some of you seek your news and information And I mean that as a friend because with the exception of only one or 2 posters, I like all you guys over here and don't think anyone's a lost cause
  11. You mean @Deranged Rhino and others have lied to me?!?! I got all those "just wait and see!!!" responses with regard to all these guys like McCabe getting indicted!!! I've been lied to!
  12. Or how about the QB sweep to the right where if any one of 3 Bills offensive players (Knox was one... can't remember the other 2) blocks the single Texans defender that was there Josh gets 20+ yards (or scores) and Hauschka kicks a gimme FG FTW?
  13. Great post @Hapless Bills Fan... I read the article, too and had a lot of similar takeaways. One thing I thought was important that he also pointed to regarding the blitz is a pass in one of the very games Allen struggled most in: the Ravens game. I think it's a significant point to make that on Allen's very last play in that game, the Ravens blitzed and Allen made the correct read and threw a helluva pass. If John Brown doesn't run such a lazy route, Buffalo ties the game and who knows what happens in OT? Which leads into the last excerpt you quote from the article at the end. There is absolutely no reason to think Allen has peaked or that he can't improve significantly on all of his flaws this offseason. The kid is seriously just a workaholic and it's the result of his upbringing (I watched another video regarding his childhood to college background last night... I feel like some of this stuff should be required viewing for certain posters.), so assuming he's plateaued despite the hard work he's almost surely ALREADY putting in this offseason is just plain silly. Reports were that Singletary was working with Gore a week or 2 ago. Hope they're working hard specifically on pass blocking. Very interesting. Do you have any specific examples? I don't doubt you at all, I just think I lack the football knowledge you might have in noticing these things happen. Hopefully a 2nd year with mostly the same offense helps all this.
  14. I actually think it's exactly the right way to go about it. It'd be significantly more subjective if you just ranked QBs "overall." I mean, I know most people wouldn't look at QBs in the NFL today and say "Brady is the 14th best QB in the NFL" or "Rivers is the 22nd best" based on what they've done over their careers, but just because Brady is the GOAT doesn't mean you automatically put him at #1 every year. Or Rivers in the top 10 every year. And I actually think Brady at 14 might be a bit high. And yes, I realize some would retort that you don't put Brady at #1 because of how much his age is showing. But then the counter would be was it age or was it losing Gronk and not having any true #1 WRs he had chemistry with? And I personally do think it's age, but you see how subjective this can get if you try to rank QBs based on talent and/or potential rather than a year by year production. I think this is the right approach on the part of NFL.com... and Allen as the 18th best (an above average, but not great or even really good) QB in a season where over 50 QBs took a relatively significant amount of snaps sounds about right..
  15. My bad. I actually looked through the first couple pages at titles and didn't click on the threads. I see you posted it... guess I just saw the fact that it was a review of his first 2 years and didn't make the obvious connection, even though I should have.
  16. Short and intermediate accuracy As soon as the Bills drafted Allen, they went to work with attempting to fine-tune his footwork and mechanics. They likely believed that some of Allen’s accuracy concerns from Wyoming had to do with inconsistent footwork. They aimed to correct it by having him throw from an uneven base on short throws to the flat, either on swing passes or designed wide receiver screens. They also looked to change how Allen opened up his hip and stepped to the left when throwing the ball to the left sideline. Allen’s legs were working against him on those throws. Correcting that would decrease the likelihood of the throw losing some velocity and improve the ball placement. A video clip emerged from training camp in 2018 showing Allen missing badly on one short throw, and it became the source of mockery. He was a work in progress in that area, and his chart from his rookie season signaled that. After careful work on these areas in 2018 and through a full offseason in 2019, Allen’s ball placement and overall accuracy improved. It certainly helped that the Bills added John Brown, Cole Beasley and Dawson Knox to the mix. The results showed in a significant way, with a quarterback rating improvement of at least 10 points in nine out of the 12 zones. The biggest growth area? The left sideline from 11 to 20 yards, which rose from 38.1 to 114.5 and was the exact area where the Bills looked for him to improve with his footwork. The key is there is room for more growth, which should be an encouraging sign for the Bills. ... What are fair expectations in Year 3? ...The processing is key to Allen’s consistency and the ability to make a big jump in 2020. The Bills will need to make an essential decision on Allen soon — whether to give him top-flight money as a starting quarterback in the NFL or to solve the position by other means. A jump in production, a continuation of improvements from 2019 and growth in some weaker areas should be the standard for Allen this coming season. Until then, it’s unclear why many are already writing off the 23-year-old. One of his best attributes is the selfless willingness to adapt. If there is an evident deficiency in Allen’s game, he works to remove it and turn the improvement into a habit. Allen has reinvented himself from one week to the next multiple times already throughout his young career. The legitimate strides he’s made with his time to a decision, short-to-intermediate accuracy, cutting down on turnover-worthy plays and not leaving the pocket prematurely should all breed optimism that he can improve in other critical areas. Because of that amount of growth in such a short time, it’s challenging to define Allen’s ceiling in the NFL. And because of such a rapid improvement, it would be foolish to believe he’s a finished product before his third season.
  17. Again... the "moderates" got more than double the votes of Bernie in 2 of the most left leaning states democratically. Those 2 states--2% of all voting delegates--do not a Democratic nominee make. And even in those states Bernie underperformed. But have your fun. The nominee is probably not Bernie.
  18. Good stuff (pun intended) Star was a lot better than we give him credit for this past offseason
  19. Wow. Guess people really read things how they want to, huh? Bernie Sanders is the presumptive Democratic nominee???? Geez I told myself I'd stay away from this place for a few months at least because I knew there would be inevitable ridiculous overreactions in the first 2 of these contests, which are likely not going to be the first 2 contests at some point in the near future because of how poorly these 2 states represent the Democratic party demographically. 2 things: 1) Crediting the Republican primary for voter turnout in democratic numbers is pretty hilarious. Voters can't vote BOTH Democrat and Republican, so I have no clue what the hell some of you are thinking. I could see you crediting Trump, but not in a positive way. Voters will turn out in primaries as voters will turn out in the General (in greater numbers) because Trump is President... so you're right there. Afterall, as posters like @Deranged Rhino will note, New Hampshire primaries are exceeding even 2008 levels. so, there's that... 2) Bernie as the presumptive nominee???? Look... I will vote Sanders or Warren if they become the nominee but I don't prefer them and I really don't think it will be them. Bernie won 60% of the state in 2016. Right now he doesn't even have 26%. The 3 moderates (Pete, Amy, Joe) more than double Bernie's support... and that's a big deal. It is still soooooo early in this Primary season, but 2 of the most left wing candidates have underperformed in states a lot of people thought they'd win handily. There's good reason it will likely be one of the moderates as the Democratic candidate and even the most liberal of Democratic states are seeing that... it's all about beating Trump in November. November... 8 months away...
  20. Wow. This thread has turned into a crazy analytics argument. Some very simple facts: 1) Josh Allen's upgraded OL still needs to improve because Allen was tied for having the least amount of pocket time in the NFL at 2.3 seconds per dropback. His legs keep him (and the team) alive, but our OL (particularly RG and G) needs to give him a clean pocket to throw from... because in general when he has a clean pocket, he's accurate. 2) If all our WRs actually caught the balls the NFL tracked as drops (these are not passes that you can put on Allen) his completion percentage would be 65.5%. 3) If you also discount Allen's spikes (these are counted as incomplete passes but obviously aren't and are typically good or at least neutral plays by the QB) his completion percentage would be 66.2%. 4) If you also discount throwaways, for which Allen got a lot of heat for NOT doing in his rookie year, his completion percentage would be 71.6%. 5) If you want to keep spikes and throwaways and drops because all QBs have them, fine. What if we made his drop percentage equal to the WRs in Atlanta, who were the best in the NFL at not dropping the football? Now Allen's completion percentage is 64.9%. Would that be considered "good" for our 2nd year still-raw QB? 6) "Giving us the most surehanded WRs in the NFL is unfair!" you say... Fine, how about our WRs are as capable of catching as Lamar Jackson's were in Baltimore, who had the 7th lowest drop percentage in the NFL. If that were the case, Allen's completion percentage would be 62%. Is that a promising improvement for him? 7) Or what if we were just in the middle of the pack... like let's say our drop percentage was Washington Redskin level, instead. Okay, now his completion percentage is 60.7%. Would those so critical of Allen here view that with optimistic eyes? Surrounding Allen with talent is very simply the first and most obvious answer. It started last offseason but the OL clearly needs time to gel, Dawson Knox needs time with a jugs machine, and Allen needs another #1 WR. And yes, Allen needs to work on his game this offseason. But anyone who watched Allen this year and thought there wasn't some wildly promising improvement in his passing from his rookie year is also probably someone who doesn't think kittens are cute.
