I'm not worried about the NFL. The NBA you can see fans in any shot because they're right there on the court. MLB has such wide shots in the game that inevitably show empty stands. The NFL can fairly easily make it so you rarely see the empty stadiums. Will they pipe in noise? Probably. And I'm fine with that.

You're asking for potentially over 10,000 people (I don't know the average NFL player family but Phillip Rivers has like 1,000 kids of his own ) to have no contact but their families for 6 months all for the sake of the NFL. I'm sure many of the spouses have jobs and that's be asking them to quit their jobs or find a way to work from home. I don't see that happening. Do you have a link for teams quarantining their QBs and how they're doing it?
-
The issue is when the stars, specifically the star QBs get it. And that's bound to happen. If it only happens a small handful of times this year; not a big deal. But if LOTS of stars end up getting it and missing a couple weeks this season, that's going to be hugely problematic. Fantastic post. Social gatherings aren't an issue on smaller scales. It's how they're done and if everyone is being responsible. But that's a hard ask for young wealthy 20 something celebrities.

Decent point. Lots of people rotate in and out of rosters. But imagine the first star QB to get it. See this is the issue. It's not if teams lose players it's when. And at that point it's what players. I wonder how much more every team's starting QB will be monitored and isolated than every other player on the team. It damn well better be significantly more.

I'm more and more pessimistic about this season every day. Frustrating because the NBA is doing a great job. And while it's a little weird, the product looks pretty good. MLB looks like it's on a fast downward spiral to the season being canceled. Obviously with the NBA having a MUCH smaller league than any other major sport makes the bubble option viable. But the NFL does have the benefit of going last. As of this moment players supposedly have reported, but Training Camps really don't begin for a couple weeks. So what can the NFL do to make this season start on time and make it all the way to the Super Bowl with only minor hiccups along the way? Is it even possible? Any reports on the NFL already adjusting in the midst of the other major sports league's successes and failures?

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

Soooo... you have zero patience for a red state vs blue state argument except for all this time you're spending blaming those blue states and the left in general???? -

And other than California, those blue states spiked early when Trump and everyone was looking at China while Europeans were bringing Covid to the East Coast from Europe. And now look what's happening to Red states. No. Hawai'i is the deepest blue state in the country and has the lowest case AND death rate. The reason for it is obvious, but largely circumstantial, just as it's circumstantial that NYC and the surrounding area have the highest number of total deaths. New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Rhode Island all suffered the circumstance of proximity to the central port to the US from Europe combined with the most densely populated city in the country by far where people drive hours from across state lines to work and then go back at the end of their day across state lines to their families. And it was in the beginning of the Pandemic when we didn't know anything and had poor supplies of PPEs and Ventilators. And even cutting out those blue states, we'd still have the 2nd most deaths in the entire world. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

South Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama and Oklahoma combined for over 130 deaths yesterday. These are some of the most red states in the Country and have a combined population of about 16 million people, so each state is pretty spread out. Our country has 150,000+ deaths in just 5 months and our President doesn't seem to give a crap about the dead, only his reelection prospects. The state of our country is disgusting. We're the laughing stock of the world thanks to the guy sitting at the Resolute Desk in the White House. -

Can you find a single person without a mask? Very different image from this: -
I'm really starting to doubt the viability of a season unless the league adjusts and creates some sort of bubble, even if it's a modified one. I'm going to be so depressed without Football this Fall, but I'm emotionally preparing for it. It's just so frustrating because the league has had (and still has) a longer period of time to get all of this figured out. There's no way to make this perfect. But they need to make it better. A lot better.

Everyone here should be upset at Trump floating the idea of delaying the election, which is set in the statutes as "the Tuesday next after the first Monday in the month of November." And this is a very bad indicator of what's to come in the next couple months. You're a hypocrite if you're in this forum constantly touting the Constitution and what it is to be American, you damn well should be feeling uneasy at this insane proposal by our President. -
This list is just bizarre this year. It's actually all over the map. Lamar Jackson is #1, which makes some sense if you're talking only 2019... but... Todd Gurley is #51. Todd Gurley was NOT GOOD last year. 857 yards rushing at 3.8 YPA? Hell Devin Singletary had 775 yards at 5.1 YPA and he didn't crack the top 100. And then there's Josh at #87, which seems to me like a year too early for him to crack into the top 100. I guess maybe because it's the players voting they're looking at things like how much they have to prepare for that other guy and how competitive he is. But as far as production I don't see how he made it in 2019.

NYC is by far the most densely populated city in our country. That combined with European visitors bringing Covid through the back door of the East Coast while everyone had their eyes on China is the reason for the explosion of deaths and cases in NYC and surrounding areas in that first month or 2. But there's no denying that what Cuomo has done in NY since that initial outbreak has been some of the best leadership we've seen in this country since the Pandemic began... probably longer.

@leh-nerd skin-erd... I didn't stay home. We've conversed long enough on here for you to know that I voted then and will be voting again and in the post you responded to I was talking about many other voters--not myself--who stayed home or voted for a 3rd party candidate. I'm sorry for that time you wasted creating that colorful word salad, but you knew better.

I honestly don't know how you can believe it can get any uglier than Trump's Presidency. We hold our nose and pull the lever because we know that if we don't and the vast majority of the country that feels as we do doesn't, we're drowning in the sheer and utter shitstorm that would be 4 more years of Donald Trump. Calling people hypocrites because they vote for a lesser of 2 evils because the worse evil is soooooooo much worse is naive. I'm not throwing away my vote or staying home in November. That's how Donald Trump got into office in the first place. We need to dig ourselves out of this pool of crap. Crucify us for being hypocrites, but we're just cognizant of the reality of Presidential elections. Fool us once. Shame on you Fool us twice. Shame on us. We won't be fooled again. I'm more disturbed by the true believers like yourself who are going to go out and cast a vote for Donald Trump REALLY believing he's good for our country. Notice she is no longer making the media rounds with those claims? I wonder why...
