  1. So Andre Roberts's contract is up, and I hope we don't re-sign him. I think McKenzie could very easily be re-signed for cheaper and take his place as both kick and punt returner. Obviously it was a small sample size, but we all saw what he did against Miami. He's actually a unique player that I think fits well into Daboll's system. In fact, as we finished our season out, I was wondering why we stopped with all of the constant motion with McKenzie. Was it because Davis superseded him as the #4 or was it some kinda statement about Daboll's faith in Josh that he didn't need all the misdirection and distraction? Anyway, I would be happy if McKenzie came back at a reasonable price, which I think is quite possible
  2. I keep watching that video of Allen going through EVERY SINGLE ONE OF his offensive teammates and hugging them. The kid is just special and I'm so utterly confident that this game is going to do for him this offseason what that Houston loss did last offseason. I hope fans can get in the stands in Buffalo next year because Josh Allen is going to come out after an offseason of hard work hungrier than ever!
  3. I'm obviously a disappointed with the way the season ended, like all of us. But in the end, we accomplished more than I hoped we would at the beginning of the season. I just wanted a playoff win and to know that Josh Allen is our next Franchise QB. Well, we got 2 playoff wins and we look like we'll be a legit contender for years to come because not only is Josh Allen a Franchise QB, but he was an Elite QB this year and there's still room for growth. I think we just ran into too many obstacles in our last game. Buffalo wins or loses with Josh Allen and all of his weapons were injured. Davis with the ankle, Diggs with his "oblique," Brown with the lingering knee injury, and Beasely with a fractured fibula. Would we have beaten KC with a completely healthy WR corps? I don't know. But I really do think the injuries played a role as KC's CBs blanketed our entire WR corps with tight, physical coverage the entire game. I wish Josh Allen would have scrambled more in that game and this year, honestly. I've said it many times and I'll say it again: cut out the designed QB runs, keep the RPOs, but encourage Allen to scramble if he breaks the pocket and his WRs aren't open. He so often makes fantastic plays outside the pocket passing the football, and he should continue to do that, but there were a number of times this year (and in the KC game, in particular) where he had the opportunity to run and forced the ball into an area he shouldn't have. I understand I'm being nitpicky. It's also nice to have a QB playing at such a high level we can be that way. I really hope Beane gets creative this offseason with Allen's new contract so that we can also make sure we upgrade our OL, TE and RB corps, which we definitely need to do. Kansas City showed us what can happen when you have TWO Elite weapons on the field at the same time on Sunday. Let's get another one somehow to complement Diggs. Is it September, yet?
  4. Dolphins, Jets, AND Patriots are all potential destinations for him. Our division was a relative cakewalk this year. I expect it to get much, MUCH tougher next year.
  5. This offseason there's way too much change coming to know how good any team will really be. Where does Watson land? How good will Trevor Lawrence be as a rookie? The Colts were good with Rivers as their QB.... what if they get Stafford? And then we get into our division. I don't expect the Patriots to be as bad as they were next year. What if the hoodie does something like get Jimmy G back with him? We were 13-3 this year. I expect us to make the playoffs next year and have a record of 11-5 or greater, but we need to see what offseason moves occur for us and the rest of the NFL making before we start circling wins and losses.
  6. I think this move should be targeted though. I don't think Edmunds or Milano are the weak links of our front 6. I think it's the other 3 guys... because Hughes isn't a weak link, either. And I really think we missed Star a lot this season and just getting him back is going to help.
  7. Keep both. McDermott's LB corp is generally just 2 guys and Milano and Edmunds make up a really good LB corp. You can't throw away the really good in search of the Elite every year.
  8. I disagree. We don't want Josh running nearly as much on those designed QB runs, but I think there needs to be emphasis this offseason that if he breaks the pocket and has his eyes downfield and WRs are generally covered, he should run. He needed to do that more against KC. Part of the problem against them I think was how well-covered our WRs were and the fact that "scrambling" has been frowned upon to some degree. Slide and/or run out of bounds. But Josh Allen scrambles should definitely be part of his arsenal.
  9. So is this basically confirmation that they wanted him to play the Lorax role?
  10. And EVERY SINGLE one of those WRs was dealing with an injury against KC
  11. As for John Brown... he may have sealed the loss https://theathletic.com/2343821/2021/01/25/bills-chiefs-josh-allen-sean-mcdermott-afc-championship/ 3) Allen needed more from John Brown on his interception Allen flirted with a few interceptions and ended up throwing just one, but he wasn’t the primary reason for the turnover. Early in the fourth quarter, the Bills were down 16 points with plenty of time and a dose of optimism remaining. They had already moved the ball 65 yards downfield. From the Chiefs’ 20-yard-line, Allen made the correct decision on the called RPO. He knew he’d have space to attempt a slant throw to wide receiver John Brown and move the Bills closer to the end zone. What he couldn’t predict was that Brown would lose the route. The Chiefs defender grabbed at Brown a bit on the play, but they were still within the 5-yard zone in which defenders can put their hands on receivers. It’s Brown’s responsibility to get a clean release and keep the defender off his pads. And if he doesn’t do that initially, he has to battle through the contact. Brown failed on both accounts on this play, allowing the Chiefs to break up the pass, deflect it into the air and set up an easy interception for the safety. That play is a perfect example of what the Bills must consider in the offseason with Brown. Brown is a good route runner, but he relies on his burst to gain separation. Without it, Brown will have a hard time winning consistently against man coverage. Brown has been missing that element of his game since he returned from an ankle injury. While that might’ve been what slowed him down, it’s fair to wonder if Brown’s best days are behind him. By the start of training camp in July, Brown will be 31 years old and on the final year of his contract. The Bills have players they’d like to re-sign and the depth at receiver to move on from Brown without a big drop-off. They would also save nearly $8 million on the salary cap by cutting Brown this offseason, giving them the flexibility to either re-sign one of their own or add a middle-tier veteran free agent at another position of need. Along with the offensive line, the decision on Brown will be one of the Bills’ most challenging because of how much he meant to Allen early in his career.
  12. Wait.... people are saying yes?????? I don't care if KC wins 2 in a row because I believe strongly that Josh Allen and the Bills are around for a decade and a half and will win more than 1 Super Bowl. Hell no I don't want Brady to win another damn Super Bowl!!!
  13. To me, the key was #2 and it's the thing I'm most irritated about. I understand McDermott's approach to "ride with the guys who got you there" as far as your WR corps goes, but EVERY SINGLE MEMBER of our WR corps was injured John Brown had the knee injury that's plagued him all season Diggs had the "oblique" injury Davis injured his ankle last week against the Ravens Beasley was playing with a freakin fractured fibula!!!! I am NOT saying we would have won this game if Kenny Stills played in place of Davis, but our WRs were absolutely blanketed and Josh had nowhere to throw the football most of the game. Heck, KC is a well coached team that probably knew our whole WR corps was injured... so why the hell wouldn't they play man to man press coverage and be overly physical? As for Allen, even his typical "WOW!!!" throws were partially "wow!!" because of tight coverage along with the usual degree of difficulty of the throw itself. I honestly wanted him to scramble more because it was just so obvious our WRs weren't getting open. I don't know that it necessarily would have made a difference, but who knows? I detest designed runs with Josh Allen, but I love when he scrambles because I think he's deadly. I think that's actually been coached out of him maybe just a little too much. There were some plays I thought he could have run for a good gain and then failed throwing it instead. The truth is I'm like you... disappointed but not upset. Kansas City is just clearly the better team right now and was clearly better prepared. I actually think Buffalo might be the 2nd best team in the NFL this year, but unfortunately we play in the same conference as the best team. I pray we aren't Peyton Manning's Indianapolis Colts to Tom Brady's New England Patriots in this rivalry for the next decade and a half.
  14. I kinda think Davis is that upgrade. Realistically we all obviously know Diggs will be there and I think most of us understand that Beasley will continue to be our slot guy. The fight is for the #2 role and I think Brown is gone in the offseason as a cap casualty as we try to pay Josh and resign Milano. And I think Davis has already proven that (when healthy) he can be a solid number 2. And the best thing is he was only a rookie... so he should get better!
  15. I think Diggs is a competitor and loves it in Buffalo with Allen. I think him lingering on the field as long as he did is him realizing how much closer he was to a Super Bowl with a better team and QB this year than when he made it in Minnesota. I think he just wants to win so damn bad... like Allen. I think you're wrong.
  16. The team needs to find money to pay Allen and not get worse. I don't know how much we save on the CAP if we cut him, but I know we save something like $8 million on the CAP in cutting John Brown. I like both Brown and Hyde a lot, but if you have players you think you can replace them with and it's not too much of a step down and you're able to save plenty for extending Allen and potentially resigning Milano, which I actually think we should do, do it. If cutting Hyde saves us a few million on the CAP, yes I think we should definitely consider it.
  17. Wouldn't surprise me at all. I think he and John Brown might be gone next year. I really think the staff might want to give Jaquan Johnson his shot.
  18. I'm not one of those money/CAP experts, but saying that one of your 2 or 3 most consistent defensive players who's only going to be 27 at the start of next year should just be let go of is silly. To me you need to categorize Milano and then pay him top 5 probably at his position. The hard part is categorizing him. Milano is classified as "OLB," but so is Khalil Mack. And hell no should Milano be paid like Mack because they don't play the same position even if both are classified as "OLB." So find the other LBs in the NFL who aren't in the "edge rusher" category the way Mack and Von Miller are and then pay him in the top 5 of that with some clauses in there in terms of injury. That's what I think they should/will do. Milano is homegrown talent and he really was one of the best--if not the best--defensive players on the field this year.
  19. I see a lot of people saying Josh was bad yesterday and turned into "Sugar High Josh," but every time they were showing our WRs they were just blanketed with coverage. What was Josh supposed to do? To me, if anything he should've started scrambling earlier and more since our WRs weren't bailing him out and our OL wasn't doing a great job. Yes, he took bad sacks and lost too much yardage, but I didn't think that was "Sugar High Josh..." it was him realizing that he had to carry the team on his shoulders yesterday for the team to have any shot.
  20. This is what sucks. KC is the best team in the NFL right now. I would have felt more confident winning the Super Bowl against absolutely any team in the NFC.
  21. The Singletary drop was big. Diggs had a drop at one point, too. But the Chiefs had a couple drops, too.
  22. It's not really overreacting if the Chiefs are the team we need to get past to get to the Super Bowl and you're basically saying they're always going to dominate us. So how do we get by them, then? What's the answer? You're saying it's a coaching and scheme thing?
  23. Honest question: Who are the Elite difference making LBs in the NFL nowadays?
