  1. How do any of you guys figure this is Murray's problem? Eichel, Okposo, ROR, Kane, Reinhart, are a very solid core, with Nylander likely coming up to the bigs next season. You also have Rodrigues and Fasching that could materialize into contributors: all put together by Murray. Yea he whiffed on Bogo, Moulson, and Lehner but I think he's done far more good than bad. He doesn't have a Ville Leino on his resume.
  2. Same. Time to move on. The OGs over here already started a good 3 threads for us on the subject where you could have gotten your dig in if you wanted.
  3. There goes the neighborhood.
  4. Is Torrey Smith really better, or do people just think he CAN be better? For a 28 year old WR looking for his 3rd team in 4 years, I think it's hard to make that argument.
  5. I would be talking with those guys in a totally calm cool and collected manner and into my inbox would pop a warning, and each time I had absolutely no idea what warranted it. T&C hit me with one a week ago for using a common acronym, and MASH pulled some serious bush league nonsense during the season that nearly resulted in me telling him where he could shove it. I never got an infraction or ban or anything, but I just have a general distaste for the high horse those guys rode around on.
  6. Every GM in the league has been waiting for Torrey Smith to reach his potential his entire career. I'd rather start a 7th round pick.
  7. what an atrocious call to send Jack to the box after getting jumped on.
  8. Pysyk had years to prove he could be anything more than a run of the mill bottom 4 guy, and he never separated form the pack. I support Murray moving him for a guy he thought could produce more upside, because it's better than just letting him go for nothing.
  9. My bad, I was in the wrong section of the boards over there. Thanks for the info!
  10. Seems to me the sabres forum linked from here is quite dead. Is there a good place to talk hockey these days?
  11. Perhaps, but it's critically important to mention that we lost 6 games by a touchdown or less and in every single one of those games our fate ended up being decided by a single play that we didn't execute. 6 plays was the difference between 13-3 and 7-9 for us. Can this team make those 6 plays next year? I'd rather gamble on that then on drafting the first rookie QB to lead his team to a Super Bowl. This is really a situation where we can have our cake and eat it too. I think we have another out on Taylor's deal after 2 years, so I think the only way you don't make this deal is if it's political. You have to spend the money somewhere, and I'd rather we spend it on a QB we know isn't a total disaster than roll the dice on some cornerback that won't put any W's on the board..
  12. Of course the money matters. If it didn't this wouldn't even be a discussion. However, with guys like Gilmore and likely a few more off the books, this team has plenty of money to get the job done. If you aren't going to pay a guy you know can play at least a little, what difference does it make if you use that money to grab supporting cast when your starting QB is [insert EJ Manual clone here]. You just can't win that way. At MINIMUM you're saying we aren't going to be competitive for a Super Bowl in 2017, and what does that say to a guy like Kyle Williams or any long in the tooth FA you might want to bring in for a push? It says we're looking at another 3-5 year rebuild. I'd rather re-tool. There's no reason that you can't bring back Taylor, use literally every draft pick you have on QBs and fill out the rest of the roster with journeyman FAs.
  13. That's fine and all, but you don't move on from a good-ish QB until you have someone better. You have to re-sign him. There really isn't a choice if you want to keep the team from imploding. We don't have the luxury of a #1 overall pick with Peyton Manning available.
  14. That's the real loss. There was a lot of info shared on that board that isn't readily accessible. It's been a go to destination for me for 15 years and now it's gone. I suppose change is good, though. It's not like it was a good home, it just happened to be my home.
  15. Count me in They have a bar down here in Austin that plays Chickenshit Bingo, and it's literally that.
