Would you keep the HC\GM combo if Allen doesn't work out.

they only really had three options when it became their turn. Rosen, Allen or Jackson. we all know how Rosen is turning out so that was a good non-choice. is Jackson really better than Allen or is he a byproduct of the system Roman has traditionally run? will defenses catch up to the Ravens and Jackson this year? i don't really know but i suspect Jackson is not as good as advertised. in the long run, Allen has a real good chance to be better and the best QB of that draft. you don't make those evaluations after two years, you make them after 4, at minimum. -

no way in hell can you have an accurate CFR in the States right now. the only real number of cases showing up are those who are very ill from the virus, which dramatically inflates the current CFR. those who have contracted it and are showing little symptoms will not seek out medical assistance and therefore not be counted. -
a Bloomberg article. it may be that Italy has contracted a particularly nasty strain of the virus so please, treat this as just one bit of information you entertain in your knowledge gathering. it certainly is still far to young in all of this to come to any sort of definitive conclusion(s) . 99% of Those Who Died From Virus Had Other Illness, Italy Says More than 99% of Italy’s coronavirus fatalities were people who suffered from previous medical conditions, according to a study by the country’s national health authority. After deaths from the virus reached more than 2,500, with a 150% increase in the past week, health authorities have been combing through data to provide clues to help combat the spread of the disease. Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte’s government is evaluating whether to extend a nationwide lockdown beyond the beginning of April, daily La Stampa reported Wednesday. Italy has more than 31,500 confirmed cases of the illness. ...

New Englanders ? N.H. residents sue over gatherings ban: 'We can choose to assemble if that is our desire' HOPKINTON, N.H. — Three people who planned to attend political and religious events in the next few weeks are challenging New Hampshire’s statewide emergency ban on gatherings of 50 people or more to prevent spread of the coronavirus. David Binford, Eric Couture and Holly Rae Beene filed a lawsuit Tuesday, the day after Republican Gov. Chris Sununu issued the order prohibiting large scheduled gatherings for social, spiritual and recreational activities. They argue there is no emergency, and that the governor is violating their constitutional rights. “We can choose to assemble if that is our desire. What cannot occur is one man in a position of power deciding to strip us of our rights in the name of safety and without due process,” Couture said in press release. A judge on Wednesday denied the group’s request for an immediate order halting enforcement of the ban and scheduled a hearing for Friday in Merrimack County Superior Court. A spokesman for Sununu said Thursday that the emergency order is consistent with actions taken across the country and is clearly within the governor’s authority. “We are confident the court will agree,” said Ben Vihdstadt. ... i wonder how they made out today. -

a full stop might portend something much worse this coming Monday.

bowling anyone?

there has been an incremental shutdown all leading up to what appears to be a full stop this weekend. perhaps this coming Monday will be the (Black) Monday echo i feared this past week. they should just shutter the market if they are going to crash the economy. i mean, seriously, what do they think is going to happen?

my apologies, i forgot to mention the possibility of using vapor masks. i saw Hapless Bills Fan's thread on how to reuse a mask and it dawned on me that i didn't post about this. @Hapless Bills Fan, if you would be so kind as to review this post and make sure there is no misinformation in it, i would be grateful and if it is worthy of your 'mask' thread, you can post it there if you like. 3M Respirator masks are quite versatile and are used in a great many industries, most notably spray painting. they are washable which may be their biggest benefit in the current crisis. this is what a complete Respirator set up looks like. it is comprised of essentially three parts... the mask itself is technically called a, 'half mask' and looks like thus with out the 'filters' in place: the half mask holds the 'charcoal filters in place, they fasten in place with simply a twist lock mechanism. the purpose of these charcoal filters are to filter out various vapors, depending upon which series (ex. 6000 series, 7000 series, 8000 series) chosen, will protect you from the vapors indicated : lastly, you have the all important 'pre-filter' which is held in place with a simple plastic snap retainer which you would see in the image above of the complete setup: why all important? because these pre-filters are certified NIOSH (at least make sure they are, there might be ripoffs out there), they will be labeled on the back side of the filter. at minimum, you want to have the N95 rating (same rating as the desired dust masks). you can get N100 also which will filter 99.97% as opposed to the 95% that a N95 filter will provide. it is my opinion that you only need one half mask per person (two if your really anal about taking precautions). however, i would recommend getting at least a couple packages of the charcoal filters (2 per package) per mask as well as a couple 'boxes' of the pre-filters' per mask. the complete initial setup (1 half mask, 2 charcoal filters and a pair of pre-filters) should cost somewhere around $40, with the additional items i mentioned above adding additional cost. these masks, in normal times should be readily available at your local big box hardware stores as well as big box paint stores. just checking around on Home Depot, Lowe's and Sherwin Williams, the pricing seems to be normal, can't vouch for whether or not they have any in-stock though. i did check Amazon and it appears they have a bunch through various sellers at reasonable prices. just so you know what they look like: package of charcoal filters box of pre-filters lastly, here is possibly as equally important as the masks themselves.that is that your eyes are a possible attack vector too. on the front part of your eye is a fluid called 'aqueous humor,. this is susceptible to pathogens just like your lungs are. and why you will see health professionals that deal with these infectious pathogens wear some form of sealed eye protection such as safety glasses, goggles or better. for that all out protection, you can obtain all in one masks designed like the one below to protect you. together with Tyvek suits, you can seal yourself off from the elements if you really have/want to. disclaimer: no i am not a salesman for 3M. i just have great experience with their products and i know they work. i have tens of them here and as such, we are all set.
