  1. and the meek shall inherit the Earth...
  2. i believe the incremental shutdown of the nation was done with an eye towards preventing all out chaos (you have to inch people along so they accept certain/most/all things). however, i do think we have now breached the Rubicon to where the anxiety level is manageable enough to just shut it all down now. regarding getting back to, 'life as usual', i am afraid that that is going to take years. and in some respects, we will not be returning to Kansas, ever.
  3. MA and MI just mandated stay at home orders for their states.
  4. the old proverb comes to mind... 'may you live in interesting times'.
  5. while we really don't know it yet, we have a much more pressing concern than the economy. that is, the just in time (JIT) supply system. how prepared are people to shelter in place do you think? most have what, two weeks worth of food, maybe? what happens then, they need to restock. as i have said previously, we are already seeing signs of the JIT supply system being stressed, those signs being empty shelves in the grocery stores and an inability for people to get items such as toilet paper. what is going to happen two weeks from now is that that stress is going to back up into that supply chain even further causing breakdowns in quite possibly unsuspecting ways. as more and more states go into complete shutdown and limit people and businesses to 'essentials' only, the JIT problem compounds. from the cornfield to the dinner table, the entire economy is interlinked. what is deemed nonessential today is going to be found to have been the missing link tomorrow. when people's stomachs start growling, you can be sure that they are going to act in irrational ways and do the unthinkable. do not be fooled chaos is right around that corner.
  6. governors of Ohio and Louisiana issue 'Stay at Home' orders due to spread of COVID-19. action includes closure of all non-essential businesses.
  7. lol. i saw a commercial last night, a couple actually for different car makers. they are offering deferred payment for either 90 or 120 days if you purchase a new truck. not to mention the 0% financing that can now be had, yes, can now be had for a mere 84 months.
  8. is there such a thing as long held conservative beliefs?
  9. umm... i'll take none of the above for $2000, Alex. additionally, i didn't say that you couldn't take chloroquine. i have no idea what the safe dosage is or would be. i only know that prolonged exposeure can lead to blindness and that in the Amazonian Basin, they have doctors there that advise child bearing age women not to take it regardless of the malarial risk.
  10. i have said for many years now and i firmly believe it to this day. calculators in the classroom is the cause of the downfall of society.
  11. not to worry, we are about to see a bifurcation of goods. hyperinflation for essentials and deflation for luxury items.
