  1. Hush-up. This is my only chance win finish compete pretend I am a runner.
  2. "Bait and switch" - good way to put it.
  3. OMG... the first time we took the exit for O'Hare the toll was 85¢. WTH came up with 85¢!? No ezpass at that time, no manned toll booth. Exact change only.
  4. The core updates are supposed to keep ahead of the bots and black hat techniques. Doesn't always work. If you want to see the Google updates, MOZ keeps a list.
  5. I thought we'd slide right over to phase 2 once phase 1 is over. This newspaper article from today says differently. Wording on phase 2 of NY reopening tweaked: All office jobs now included </snip> Tomorrow will be two weeks since Central New York and several other regions began the first phase of the state’s reopening plan. Officials had previously said there would be a two-week pause between phases to monitor how the virus responded to increased activity. Assuming the pandemic didn’t worsen considerably, the idea was to move to the next phase after that. Given the earlier message from Cuomo and others, many phase two businesses have started preparing to reopen tomorrow. But the state has yet to give official, public clearance for phase two in any regions. </snip>
  6. He said he's having real trouble with the thread and twitter today.
  7. Reclassification would kill the socials. Choose wisely, or choose poorly.
  8. He's a dumb person who thinks he's smart and clever. The Congressional Democrat leakers and the complicit media. And people wonder why Congress and the media are so despised!?
  9. The end result of the Minneapolis "protests" (ie, an "excuse" to loot):
  10. Wow, this is a very long Rube Goldberg machine:
  11. "Everyone Is Shocked": CBS News Hit Hard by Layoffs "I’m really sorry," network president Susan Zirinsky said Wednesday on an all-staff Zoom meeting about the cuts. "There is not a person who won’t be missed." CBS News was hit hard by a round of corporate cost-cutting that saw "a single-digit percentage" of the network's news staffers laid off, according to an estimate given by network president Susan Zirinsky during a Wednesday afternoon all-hands conference. Based on the size of the news network — which totals more than 500 staffers — employees did the back-of-the-envelope math and estimated that about 50 staffers were cut, though the network has not said specifically how many were affected. </snip> The cost-cutting at the news division arrives as part of a broad restructuring after the December closing of the merger between Viacom and CBS. In New York, some 450 staffers have been impacted by cuts companywide at ViacomCBS since January, per a filing with the state's Department of Labor. </snip>
  12. Because the news media had abdicated any sort of objectivity in this country, who can "fact check" that both sides of the political aisle will believe? Source documents are great, but even here, a political sub-forum, people refuse to read source documents. The journalists that used to compile that data, and only slightly spin to make a point, are gone. Today's media ignores, smothers, and buries unwanted information. It is only those with the time and inclination to dig deeper (and really, no one can be knowledgeable about everything) who can find the truth. I think many/most people have been under the assumption that media is click-based the last 8-10 years. We are now seeing through lay-offs that that model is not sustainable. Is it because there are only X amount of people to read left leaning sites? Is it because there are very few centrist sites? Heck, Drudge sold his crappy looking aggregator last year (no one knows if that was to get out while the gettin' was good, or if it was for other reasons). Will newspapers and online news media become a billionaires toy? With a billionaires spin? WaPo isn't called Bezos' Blog for nuthin'. In any event, if social media wants to keep those nice little platform perks they really should stay within the law they paid Congress to write. "Fact checking" the President of the United State - who has access to far more intel than any newspaper, and then "fact checking" with craptastic sources like CNN and WaPo was just asking for trouble. I guess we shall see today if they found it.
  13. That would be pretty interesting these days. You'd have to find a toll booth. And a toll basket. And a quarter or 50¢ toll. I'm not certain any of those exist anymore.
  14. Whoa. He's a #walkaway who has done a lot of clean-ups in poorer cities (Baltimore was his first, then he moved on to San Fran). He's also helped people to register to vote. I know the "That's not who we are!" crowd will be unhappy about this, but I understand his reasoning, whether or not I agree with it.
  15. This is his claim on the misleading "fact check"
  16. I have not watched The Good Place, but will definitely give it a go. Thanks for the recommendation.
