  5. Tim Scott - possibly, but a Senator? Senators never seem to do well in general elections. Dan Crenshaw - too young, but he's very, very attractive, so he's got my vote! Tom Cotton - too conservative. He'd never win in the general. Ron DeSantis - very possibly. He may very well be the Rs best hope. Nikki Haley - a squish, and she caves to the masses a lot. I am not saying I dislike her (I do not dislike her), but do not expect her to stand for anything when something else "better" comes along. Rand Paul - er, no. Marco Rubio - hello to the no. Ted Cruz - I like Ted Cruz, but he'll never win in the general. I would love to see him on the SC. That would make a lot of heads explode.
  6. You did better than I did. I copy and pasted the text which automatically linked. Looks like grabbing the share url works. Thank you!
  7. Did it bring more people onto health insurance? Did it bring more people affordable health care? Do people have better insurance today, or before Obamacare? This is a quick survey of a comparison from 2010 to 2019. The article is anti-Trump, so you should like it. It is a survey of whether people were better off with their health insurance before or after Obamacare. It is not a national look, but rather, more than the is it "stronger for everyone" (4225 adults). Hint: the answer is no. IOW, you get health insurance through your job so you are very isolated about what has happened to health care costs. Hubby and I can fume about shittier insurance coverage for greater costs, but we can afford to get anything done necessary, insurance coverage or not. Most people do not have that luxury. Obamacare was "supposed" to fix that, instead it made things worse. This should help a bit with health care costs: And MAXINE WATERS is your source!? Even if that is 100% true (and honestly, I do not care if it is or is not), you have to do better than Maxine Waters as a source. Shesh, next thing you'll be quoting Mazie Hirono.
  8. Malls, gyms, movie theaters won't open in New York's phase four Malls, movie theaters and gyms are not cleared to reopen during phase four in New York, even as coronavirus cases have dwindled and the rate of infection in the state is among the lowest in the nation. Robert F. Mujica Jr., the state's budget director, informed local leaders — meeting as a reopening "control room" — of the governor's decision on a conference call Tuesday afternoon. </snip>

  10. U.S. and Poland work to finalize defense deal ahead of Duda visit Officials are focused on finalizing the legal details of the defense agreement Trump and Duda announced last year. U.S. and Polish officials are finalizing a defense cooperation agreement ahead of Polish President Andrzej Duda's visit to the White House on Wednesday, as questions swirl about a potential deployment of thousands of additional U.S. troops to Polish soil. Officials are focused on the legal details of the defense agreement President Donald Trump and Duda announced last year, a senior administration official told reporters on Tuesday. Since then, the two countries inaugurated a new divisional headquarters in Poland, headed by a U.S. general, and have made progress establishing a combat training center there, the official said. </snip> The officials declined to answer questions about whether Trump plans to move any of the 9,500 U.S. troops from Germany to Poland. The second official pointed to vague comments by national security adviser Robert O'Brien in a Monday op-ed that the troops may redeploy to other countries in Europe, but they also may head to the Indo-Pacific, or return to the U.S. </snip>
  11. He's on parler and posted this a little while ago: Yes, I have been permanently suspended from Twitter for "copyright infringement" I have always abided by any DMCA takedown I have received. I have NEVER violated a takedown. The most recent takedown was this morning and it was fraudulent. The Todler video was and is public domain and protected by the law under satire and parody. Thanks for your support. Oh, I was wondering how to link to parler! That is interesting.
  12. Well, they can be sure to tell those in charge in Venezuela right how to do it correctly. I am certain that will go over well.

  14. 30 Rock Is Pulling Blackface Episodes From Streaming Platforms and TV Reruns Four episodes of 30 Rock, including two featuring Jane Krakowski’s Jenna character in blackface, are being removed from subscription streaming services Hulu and Amazon Prime and have also been made unavailable for sale on purchase platforms such as iTunes and Google Play. The episodes, which will no longer air on traditional TV either, were pulled at the request of NBCUniversal executive producers Tina Fey and Robert Carlock. A source tells Vulture the four episodes, some of which have already vanished, should be gone by the end of this week. </snip> Tina Fey's mea culpa follows in the snip...

  17. He just thinks he will be back to work in September... Laying low until people have had enough of #cancelculture isn't a bad strategy. Vacationing as a mea culpa? If he can get away with it ...
  18. Why do bloggers and the news media keep calling them "protesters"? They are not out protesting anything. They are destroying property. I hope the Trump administration does use that federal law to make these paid-terrorists spend a few years in jail.
  19. entrée You may want to send them a few books. History as a learning tool. Give 'em a plane ticket to Venezuela. That'll show them how quickly a well-off country with a solid middle class can devolve into a scary place where people scrape to survive. Just make sure they like pets as an entrée, can live without shelter or cleanliness, and don't mind the armed guards. Oh, and remind them about the lack of electricity, cell phone service, and internet. Sell it as quiet time to write and reflect!
  20. How can people be so stupid? I am assuming you would like to continue to work and cannot ask them if they've ever spent time in a communist/socialist county, and what they see as the long term viability of their creative expression if the US ever did fall to Marxism? Are they possibly very young? What is chic in your early-20s is normally considered a dumb-ass idea by 35.
  21. If you have ever been to Mt Rushmore, it would be some undertaking to do something to it. They'd probably have to bomb it. You are a million miles away from it when you enter the gates (although with a nicely centered view for photos). Where you can get close and see just how big Mt Rushmore is is on the drive down off the park. There is a place to pull over (if you are fortunate enough to get one of the unsanctioned spots), and you can see it close-up. There are park rangers all over the place. My guess (just a guess as I have no idea) is they have drones, cameras, rangers.... maybe a few bison... and are constantly tracking "mischief makers."
