Do players know immediately if a rookie is good or bad?
Doc Brown replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
The implement of the rookie wage scale quickly flipped the script as far as being able to move on from 1st round QB's you know are pry not going to work out. You're not as financially tied to the player and it makes that player easier to trade. Unfortunately, it often puts pressure on a rookie QB to produce immediate results. -
Except we didn't have to give up a pick to get him. The lack of planning by Douglas at the backup QB position is quite impressive.

One Thing You Still Want To See This Bills Team Prove?
Doc Brown replied to wagne591's topic in The Stadium Wall
True. If you consider them an actual NFL team. The only demons the Bills really have left is to win their first road playoff game since 1993 (if need be) and the Super Bowl. -
Something tells me they dress Epenessa for this game.
-
Now I gotta bet the Titans. Thanks a lot.
-
Can we just call it a win/win for both teams? Bears fans should be the one's tortured by that draft.

The no trade clause really ties their hands as I believe it was reported right before the season Watson didn't want to go to Philly. Who knows where his head's at now though? From everything I've read it's down to the Fins and the Panthers and it makes sense for the Texans to pull the trigger now if the price is right. If neither team wants to pull the trigger than Watson may be forced to join a team he previously didn't want to go to. Eagles are a possibility.

That's when his catch streak ended as I posted earlier. It did rain that day but it was 50 degrees.
-
No. It was November in 1985 and it was 50 degrees out when his 62 game catch streak ended. He doesn't have the greatest memory as they won 23-17. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/198511030buf.htm

Did he say he lost the game?

You'd think nowadays with the enhanced home viewing experience, fantasy and gambling taking off, etc.... all newly built stadiums would be enclosed. I don't want excuses.

Nelson's great but they passed on Allen.
-
I think in that case it's a safety. You have to regain possession.

This game is drunk.

10/17 Gameday Thread: Around the League (Bills on bye)
Doc Brown replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Darnold must've talked with Gase about a month ago. -
Obama didn’t take office until 2009. Twelve pages in and nobody corrects this moron.

I think it's really as simple as Josh hates checking down. Wouldn't have it any other way after watching a Bridgewater/Keenum game.

Marcellus Wiley (Speak for yourself/music city)
Doc Brown replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's discussed this before. Whether he was referring to Ralph, Phillips, or Johnson.......who knows? https://buffalonews.com/sports/bills/bn-blitz-newsletter-marcellus-wiley-still-convinced-doug-flutie-wouldve-won-music-city-miracle-game/article_c994fd8f-c5fe-5539-b9c3-b5f7af3695f5.html Former Bills defensive end Marcellus Wiley spoke with Vic Carucci for this week's "One-on-One Coverage," and it didn't take long for the Doug Flutie-Rob Johnson debate to be rekindled. "This is no shot at Rob, but Doug would have won that game for us," Wiley said. "It’s just that simple." This of course refers to the Bills' wild-card game against the Titans on Jan. 8, 2000. If you're not familiar with this story, Flutie quarterbacked the Bills to a 10-5 record but was benched for their playoff game after Johnson performed well in Week 17 while Flutie was being rested. Coach Wade Phillips later stated that owner Ralph Wilson forced him to start Johnson. And everyone knows how the game ended. Wiley still believes it was a forward lateral, but his point was that if Flutie started, it would've have even come down to that play. "It wasn’t 50-50; I would say it was 70-30, 80-20 Doug," Wiley said of the locker room split supporting Flutie. "But the craziest thing was how it played out in real time, how we knew Rob had to start the last game ... And I remember when Wade came in and said, 'Guys, we’re changing quarterbacks.' It was craziness. People were like, 'What?' Then, we all calmed down and realized, 'Hey, it’s playoff week and if those are the marching orders, we must follow.'" -
That's actually a unique movie category that needs to be explored further. Off the top of my head and mostly sequels.... -Matrix Revolutions -Alexander -Dumb and Dumber Too -Terminator Salvation -Hannibal Rising

Thursday nite football: Broncos at Browns
Doc Brown replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Broncos defense just gets decimated in the trenches. Fangio has to go.
