THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - I Just Love the Bills
LABILLBACKER replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
And that's why we've become more numb and less destroyed with each heartbreaking loss. Even Simon commented on how semi civil fans were afterward. Your trained...programed to expect the loss. I said to myself even if Bass makes this kick, we're still losing this game. It's too bad we've been beaten down so much. Maybe that's part of the narrative by many fans to just enjoy the ride. Appreciate the regular season wins and divisions. It's just hard for me to fall down that rabbit hole. -
I'm just waiting for our culture to translate to a good playoff defense. That's the only boat I want to rock.

Josh Allen the turnover machine
LABILLBACKER replied to D. L. Hot-Flamethrower's topic in The Stadium Wall
The goal should always be the 1 seed by week 17. With all our injuries late this year and suffered in the Steeler game, it would've made a huge difference. We basically would've been able to rest starters week 18, then get an extra week to heal. Between week 18 and wild card we lost Gabe, Douglas, Rapp, Benford, Bernard, Spector. And I'm sure Josh's shoulder and Stef's foot could've used 2 weeks off. Home field has been proven inconsequential. -
Yup, Josh will be runner up a 3rd time.

McDermott - Excuses, Valid but concerning
LABILLBACKER replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Every damn accolade Sean McDermott receives during his career with Buffalo will be 100% because of Josh Allen. Not because he's this amazing defensive strategist. Without Josh this team would be 5-12 every year and clappy would've been fired ages ago. The only process he preaches is the excuses every damn year for his worthless playoff defense. -

If Terry is so smart and made all this money why can't he see the obvious. Does he have to get kicked in the face by the same horse 8 straight years to figure it out. I knew our coaching future was in trouble after Houston & 13 seconds. -
Can We End This Nonsense About Homefield Advantage Now?
LABILLBACKER replied to K D's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree. It's not just getting the 1 seed but if you can wrap it up after week 17, you can rest/ rehab your starters for nearly 3 weeks. Could you imagine our banged up guys getting that much time to strengthen up. Home field is nice but not necessary. 3 weeks to heal is tantamount. -
The Ripoff Report 2023 Finale - Autopsy and Prognosis
LABILLBACKER replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall
Apparently the coaches have rarely been great evaluators of defensive responsibilities based on athleticism. Klein guarding Kelce was as much a fail as Wallace on Travis 2 years ago. It should've been Dorian playing man. -

My only disagreement would be Cook. Albeit a very good RB, superstars don't drop 4 tds in a season. Cook still has alot of jugs work to do. Agree with must do everything to retain Floyd, Jones & Dane. Also Ty Johnson as RB2. Must be 2 WR's drafted in the 1st & 4th. -
Who are your top 10 QBs in the league
LABILLBACKER replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
There's just 4 qbs worth getting excited about. 1. Mahomes 2. Allen 3. Lamar 4. Burrow ....Prescott, Herbert & Hurts have under performed. Aaron has one foot in retirement. And Stafford is not too far behind. Guys like Purdy or Tua are very good game managers but incapable of taking over a game. Stroud is the most promising rookie. -
Ryan O'Halloran - Bills should go Defense Heavy in draft
LABILLBACKER replied to BCAS Baritone's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm so sick and tired of throwing darts at defensive players while Josh has had scraps as weapons over the last 4-5 years. Now with that said if we can draft a quality wr in the 1st and maybe land a good fa wr (not a Harty/ Sherfield type) then kock yourself out in rounds 2-7 on defense. Maybe Shorter or Hamler stick? -
No way I'm pick it up unless he gets 10+ next year. If you want the bag you gotta earn the bag.

Was the Bills/Chiefs Game decided in Week 18?
LABILLBACKER replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wouldn't exactly say the Dline was our healthiest unit. Our $140M pass rusher played at 70% all season. DQ had just returned from his almost season ending injury. Players like Settle, Joseph, Ford, Phillips and Shaq are so mediocre they might as well be injured. -
Josh Allen the turnover machine
LABILLBACKER replied to D. L. Hot-Flamethrower's topic in The Stadium Wall
From here on out the #1 goal is not necessarily the SB but getting that 1 seed and bye. Just know the Bills will have some injuries. Even the home field advantage is no where near as important as getting healthy thru week 18 until the divisions. Your odds of making the SB goes up dramatically by getting the 1 seed. -
How do you explain Diggs invisibility act
LABILLBACKER replied to Coldfronts's topic in The Stadium Wall
We handed Mahomes to KC. We handed Jefferson to Minny. We're all about giving. -
If I got Bill as HC and Vrabel as my DC, sign me up. I just don't see Vrabel settling for a coordinator job. Still prefer Ben Johnson as HC.

Mr. Pegula please read Tyler Dunne’s newest article
LABILLBACKER replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've revisited this topic for 6 years now since the Houston game. The fake punt on your own 30 was pure stupidity. Just sit Martin down for 1 week and play Haack if you have such little faith in Martin. His historical playoff defenses have been terrible again dating back to giving up 22 2nd half points to Watson. He and his playoff defenses (healthy or not) just have no clue how to stop elite qbs. We stopped Lamar once and that's it. Our 4 DL starters (all healthy) did nothing stopping Pacheco or Pat. Why is Klein on Kelce?? 14 pts right there. -

Until Terry or Josh get fed up enough to make a statement or action, this routine with McDermott will continue indefinitely. Josh will ball out and get us in the playoffs. We'll beat some wild card team. Then we'll watch our defense get destroyed in the division round to either Mahomes, Burrow or Lamar. There's literally days when I think Sean not only wants Josh to be Superman on offense but also play every position on defense. -
At the end, how Josh Allen's carrer will look like ?
LABILLBACKER replied to Repulsif's topic in The Stadium Wall
With the hits Josh takes every week, doubtful he plays past 37-38? He's gotta get one in the next 5 years. Maybe the NFL will move the Bills to the NFC? -
I will forever remember that insane interception during the Patriots game. Micah and Jordon will truly be missed. Greatest safety duo in Bills history. Thanks for the memories Micah.

Harbaugh close to deal to become Chargers Head Coach
LABILLBACKER replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hope so....Sean should be just about done by then. -
I don't care if Diggs talked or not. I think most of the season he was playing injured with foot and abdominal issues. His passion is still there but he is starting to lose a step. Bass kicks the ball wierd. He sets up right behind the ball and less wide. You see most of his kicks slice or fade right. That extension was premature.
