  1. 🙄. The internet really sucks sometimes.
  2. Awesome news! (Unless you’re like@BADOLBILZ , not a fan of quality linemen and preferring an all-WR offense.) Here we thought both Milano and Williams were goners, and we managed to keep both! Good stuff.
  3. Personally, I don't agree that Cam Newton is as "done" as many seem to think. The Patriots offense as a whole last year was awful. It's hard to envision any QB succeeding with that supporting cast. He had some real stinkers, to be sure, but he also had games where he posted QB ratings of 100.7, 114.3, 102.6, and 127.4. This tells me that he can still play. The last time he was reasonably healthy and had some weaponry around him, in 2018, he produced 28 total TDs and 13 INTs. Cam also stated how much havoc COVID wreaked on his mental faculties last year. I don't mean to make excuses for Newton, but I think that if you surround him with a decent supporting cast, you can definitely win 10 or more games with him on a consistent basis.
  4. Clearly they like the idea of a guy who can play DE on run downs and kick inside on passing downs. It’s what they wanted Quinton Jefferson to do (Star opting out put the kibosh on that), it’s what they would’ve wanted Watt to do, and it’s what they would want Autry to do.
  5. Man. I went out for a couple hours and came back to this awesome news, not to mention a 17-page thread discussing it! I probably can't say much that hasn't already been said, but... I, too, figured he was a goner. The fact that he likely took less money to stay in Buffalo because he likes the culture and because he recognizes that the Bills are knocking on the doorstep of the Super Bowl is absolutely amazing. For all those who still say culture is overblown -- and I saw a few on this forum just today saying it -- here's another piece of evidence that you're wrong. Build a good program, build a consistent and successful program, and watch players take less money to be a part of it. Culture is real. So glad Milano is back. One less hole to fill this offseason. Go Beane!
  6. 1.) Your ongoing petty obsession with me is strange. 2.) Elgton Jenkins made the Pro Bowl in 2020. It’s funny that you think my wishing the Bills had drafted a Pro Bowl guard is anything other than completely reasonable. If you don’t think a Pro Bowl guard would help the Bills right now, then you don’t have a firm grasp on team needs. Now go ahead and insert your “laugh” emoji, since smiley face troll jobs are more in your wheelhouse than adult discussion and reasoned debate.
  7. First, thanks for posting this. As for his mock offseason: it’s clearly well thought out and addressed most major need areas. The two things it’s lacking, in my opinion, is substantial improvement to the interior offensive line, and a Swiss Army knife returner/gadget guy, which they’d need if they let McKenzie and Roberts go. That said, you can’t address everything in one (cap strapped) offseason, and I like adding real help at EDGE and TE and getting younger at WR, CB, and LB.
  8. Right, because commenting that I wish the Bills had taken a superior offensive lineman with the Ford pick obviously means that I wouldn't have also been happy with Metcalf or numerous other quality players. 🙄
  9. Beane tried to sign him last time he was a FA, but lost out to NO. For that reason , if the Bills signed him, it wouldn’t shock me.
  10. It hurts my soul that the Bills took Cody Ford instead of Elgton Jenkins and also traded Wyatt Teller away. I know hindsight is 20/20, but the Bills could easily have the best young guard duo in the game, and on cheap rookie deals.
  11. Thanks for the link. A few research errors, like calling Gabriel Davis a “3rd round steal” (he was drafted in the 4th) and saying Edmunds needs to take a 3rd year leap (it will be his 4th year). Other than that, it was a pretty accurate and fair look at our team.
  12. I get the feeling they want to find a rookie who can both replace McKenzie in the offense and replace Roberts in the return game. Basically, I think they would rather find cheap labor in the form of one guy that can do the McKenzie jet sweeps AND return kicks, which would open up a roster spot at WR and save them money in a cap-strapped year. I hope they find a guy like that. It might be the best path to diversifying/improving the WR corps and opening a pathway for Isaiah Hodgins.
  13. Remember David Nelson? Thats what I see for Hodgins: a Big Slot/move tight end hybrid. A 3rd down possession receiver and red zone weapon. With how creative Daboll is, I could see Hodgins being a movable chess piece to exploit certain coverage mismatches and give Josh some more size inside the 10. Hodgins even making the team will be contingent on what other moves the team makes at WR. As always, the very best chance Hodgins has to make the 53-man roster is to carve out a role on special teams. Without that, it’s hard to see him not spending another year on the practice squad. You simply can’t make the roster as a WR5 or WR6 without also contributing on special teams.
  14. I bet they only gave up a bag of peanuts, though.
  15. Welp. We now know the floor for Allen’s new contract. I doubt he takes less than Dak.
  16. https://www.nfl.com/news/buffalo-owner-kim-pegula-2020-set-the-floor-for-bills-the-bar-is-much-higher-in-?campaign=Twitter_atn "I do know that this year the 2020 team really set the floor for us," Pegula said. "That's not the bar, what happened this year. The bar is much higher. The floor was set with the success that this team had. Kind of really having to dig deep and especially not knowing where the salary cap is gonna fall is going to be a big job for these guys because the bar has been raised for previous years like I said. It's going to be a lot of tweaking, a lot of impact and understanding where we're going to be with our team, our salary. Those are things I leave up to other people. But I know the expectation is pretty high right now as the standard which we're going to be moving forward."
  17. I guess Josh really IS insanely competitive! 🤣
  18. Thanks for that. While I realize that special teams is the main reason for the re-signing of Smith, I do wonder if he or Dodson can factor into the starting WLB discussion if Milano leaves. Both are young, fast, and have plus athletic ability.
  19. Sad. Nevertheless, it's been years since the best garbage plates were coming from Tahou's. There are multiple places in Rochester that make superior plates. My personal favorites are Dogtown and Jimmy Z's.
  20. People keep calling the price high, but the cost of safeties is likely to go up soon. By 2022, Hyde’s deal will look like a bargain. Given that the Bills were one game away from the Super Bowl and that Hyde and Poyer are still playing at a high level, I believe this extension was a good move, as was Poyer’s . Keeping 4/5 of the starting secondary in place is a good thing. Now go improve the front seven.
  21. Lots of Jonnu Smith love this offseason, but I thought this factoid from Matt Parrino was interesting: Knox vs Smith in their first two seasons: Jonnu Smith: 38 catches, 415 yards, 5 TDs Dawson Knox: 52 catches, 676 yards, 5 TDs
  22. Agreed. Coaches are not infallible. Just because a coach or team likes a player doesn’t mean they are always correct. Winters is a great example. As I said before, the coaches have indicated that Feliciano sets a tone and an example with his nastiness and toughness. That’s great. As far as being a highly effective offensive guard, though? I dunno. I didn’t see it this year. Maybe in a year where the Bills weren’t pinching pennies I wouldn’t mind. But given that every spare dime counts this year and that the o-line and running game needs improvement, I’m just not too wild about re-signing what seems to be a pretty average guard.
  23. Let each team pick their best fighter. The two men then square off at the 50-yard-line in three two minute rounds. May the best man (and team) win. I know who the Bills are picking in this scenario...
