  1. I remember that year. The great Limas Sweed vs Malcolm Kelly debates. Both turned out to be complete duds.
  2. Hadn’t thought about Owen Schmidt in years. people were fired up about him because — and this is true — he smashed his own helmet against his head repeatedly until he bled to get fired up for games. He was Bbmb’s number one draft crush that year. A fullback. Who made himself bleed. From the head. On purpose. Yep.
  3. I like Evans. I WILL say that I remember Beane saying earlier this offseason that they kept giving Frank Gore gameday jerseys instead of Yeldon last year because he had that "downhill, smashmouth presence that maybe Devin didn't have". So if we take a guy like Evans, which I'm fine with, it seems like we maybe still won't have that short yardage, downhill, between-the-tackles presence on the roster. I can't be the only Bills fan who doesn't want to see our short yardage back continue to be Josh Allen. If they get Evans, I hope that they also add either a late round or UDFA power back, as well.
  4. Agreed. I was really hoping to trade down and add a 2nd. In real life, I can see Mayock going for A.J. Terrell, seeing as he has a supernatural hard-on for Clemson players. That being said, having Henderson on the board at 19 can hardly be considered anything but a win for the Raiders, even though he’s not my personal favorite.
  5. With the 19th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Las Vegas Raiders select C.J. Henderson, CB, Florida. After selecting the top WR on the board, the Raiders looked to their second biggest need, cornerback. We like Trayvon Mullen at CB2, but we direly needed a quality CB1. After being outbid for Byron Jones, we turned to the draft. The #1 remaining CB on our board was Kristian Fulton, but he was shrewdly taken by the Falcons. Based on value alone, K’Lavon Chaisson and Xavier McKinney would have been considerations here, but alas, they, too, were chosen just before we were on the clock. With no 2nd round picks and nobody interested in trading up to 19 to net us extra picks, we felt we simply could not go into round 3 without addressing such a massive need. C.J. Henderson will immediately be the most talented cover corner on our roster. He needs to work on his tackling and tenacity in run support, but his size, speed, and athleticism are top notch. We feel he has All-Pro potential. Along with Ceedee Lamb, we feel we have addressed our two biggest needs with blue chip talent and greatly strengthened our roster. @aristocrat and the Jacksonville Marrones are now on the clock.
  6. If anyone wishes to move up (for a tackle or LB or WR, perhaps?), pick #19 is up for grabs. If no one bites within a few minutes, I’ll make my pick.
  7. His comment is relevant to COVID-19. Asthmatics are at greater risk.
  8. Fair enough. I always felt like sometimes he got too cute with the trade-downs and the “smartest guy in the room” routine. Felt like he left some really good talent on the board at times that wound up costing him in the playoffs. Obviously, he won 6 titles as a head coach, so who am I to question his team building? I maintain that, if paired with a proper GM with whom he worked well throughout his career, he might have won 7 or 8 titles, instead. It’s unknowable, of course. He does have some weird blind spots (all GMs do), like 2nd round defensive backs and wide receivers in general. His selection of Harry just last year, for instance, over guys like A.J. Brown and DK Metcalf and Mecole Hardman stands out. Overall, I’d agree with you. A good, but not GREAT GM.
  9. Belichick is the best coach in NFL history. He is NOT, in my estimation, a great GM.
  10. I’ll believe they roll into the season with just those two guys when I see it.
  11. @GunnerBill I’m curious to know: if you were the Raiders and had your pick of the WRs, who would you take? I nearly went with Jeudy due to route running prowess and it’s importance in the WCO, but ultimately felt that he may be best in the slot, where Raiders already have Renfrow.
  12. Agreed on pretty much all counts...Plenty of resources have been invested in the defense. It’s time to bring the offense into the top 10. How do we do that? A stud running back and a YAC and/or size WR, in my opinion. If a guy they believe can be a high quality starting RT is on the board at 54, I’m fine with that, too.
  13. With the 12th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Las Vegas Raiders select CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma. The Raiders felt that our clear number one need was a bona fide #1 WR. We like Tyrell Williams as a deep threat and we’re really excited about Hunter Renfrow’s future in the slot. We have Agholor and Zay Jones for depth, but we don’t have our alpha yet. With our pick of the entire WR draft class, we heavily studied all three of the top prospects at the position. We were enticed by Jeudy’s route running and Ruggs’ rare speed, but we felt that the former may fit best in the slot and the latter may lack the ability to be a true, dominant #1 WR. CeeDee Lamb will step in and immediately start for us at the Z spot in coach Gruden’s west coast offense. He has physical abilities you just can’t teach. His YAC ability, for instance, is off the charts. In 2019, Lamb had 376 yards after contact (third-most in FBS) and 683 yards after the catch, and he forced 26 missed tackles. He can take a 5 yard slant and turn it into a 60 yard touchdown in a heartbeat. We are thrilled to add him to our team and believe he will add tremendous big play ability to our offense. @Watkins101 and the San Francisco 49ers are now on the clock.
  14. Patriots will acquire OJ Howard for peanuts and turn him into a Pro Bowler. Ugh.
  15. Things were humming along pretty nicely there for a minute. Now? Not.
  16. We DO love us some 5th round project linebackers. Plus, it would put us back up to our preferred Shaq quota.
  17. I was gonna wait to post this until closer to my picks, but this thing is moving fast, so... The Las Vegas Raiders are looking to move back in the draft (preferably from the 19th spot, but the 12th is on the table, too). Hoping to add more draft picks this year, as we currently lack any 2nd round picks.
  18. You’re right! I missed that. I rescind the Browns criticism. Good job, Browns ?
  19. So the Browns ignored their glaring need on the o-line to take a corner, Tua is a Redskin, and the Phins took Love at 5? This draft is already drunk. ?
  20. Joe Burrow will end up being average at best, a bust at worst. Tua will have the better pro career.
  21. The Bills under Brandon Beane seem to like to take one section of the off-season at a time. They seem to put all of their attention into free agency, then shift completely to the draft. Beane himself said that after the draft, because of COVID, there’s not much on the calendar — or at least, not as much as there usually is. All of this is to say that it wouldn’t surprise me if we hear a few contract extension announcements in the months AFTER the draft. Echoing others here, I think Dawkins and White are (rightly) the top priorities. I think there’s a 60% chance the Bills re-sign Milano, though. Edit**. Here’s Beane’s quote from the Yahoo article linked in the post before this: “If you look at our history, I’ve generally done most of those guys — we did do Jordan before that, before we hit free agency. Beyond that — most of the guys I’ve done from Jerry Hughes, Eric Wood, [Stephen] Hauschka and some of those guys we’ve done more in the spring/summer time frame,” Beane said.
  22. Zero part of me thought this was in the cards. Now...trading up higher in the 2nd and 3rd? Absolutely on the table. Even after the picks we parted with in the Diggs trade, it’s STILL going to be hard for seven rookies to find roster spots this year. Expect a couple more aggressive, “trading up for specific guys we like” moves.
