Reggie Gilliam signs 2 yr, up to 5.2 mil extension
Logic replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Those who have an issue with Reggie Gilliam must have missed the part of last season where his being inserted into the lineup at the expense of an extra WR diversified the Bills’ offense, allowed it to keep opposing defenses more off balance, and helped to resuscitate it from its moribund state. He plays FB, TE3, short yardage back, and all four special teams. He’s a glue guy. He’s the type of player every roster needs. He does lots of dirty work. He’s not a star, but fullbacks rarely are. He’ll continue to be a big part of the Bills’ team success, and when the full details of his deal come out, they will likely reveal that he’s making peanuts. Good job by the Bills rewarding a key piece of the roster.- 114 replies

Thank you for doubling down on your own awfulness in order to prove my point about you being the worst. I can’t imagine having the massive ego and total lack of appropriate boundaries it would take to try to psycho-analyze a stranger on an internet message board. You’ve never met me and know nothing about me, yet you sit here talking about male authority figures and touting your superior masculinity. I used to find you irritating. You used to arouse anger in me. Now I just pity you. Here’s some psycho analysis for YOU: Your weird cyber stalking and bullying (engaging people with cruelty and insults when they aren’t even talking to you, tagging people obsessively to try to draw them into arguments), massive ego, inflated sense of self worth, meanness and arrogance suggest that you are a deeply insecure and unhappy person, who attempts to make others just as unhappy by constantly tearing them down. This is an internet football message board. It’s so EASY to have fun, friendly discourse here. Almost everyone here has a nice, pleasant time conversing with each other. And yet, almost no one enjoys conversing with you. Why? Because you make a sport of acting rude, superior, and insulting people at every turn. You are genuinely unpleasant. Your quality football knowledge and opinions are rendered obsolete by your deeply unlikable and argumentative disposition. I genuinely hope you find whatever peace or contentment is lacking in your life that makes you feel it necessary to attack strangers on the internet for no reason all the time. Let me know if you ever want to have a mature, reasonable, normal discussion about football, like a normal person. I won’t hold my breath.

Excellent post all the way through. Thanks!

The fact that you: 1) turned a simple, silly post into an opportunity to insult me and 2) think the 13 seconds jersey is "hilarious" says soooo much more about you than it does about me. You, sir, are certifiably

You're not setting your sights high enough. I'm thinking GOAT.

And while we're at it, who do I talk to about the concerning lack of depth at outside WR?!
-
That's fair, but I'm not basing it off of one drive. Singletary was tearing it up through the final quarter of the season and the playoffs last season. I see no reason that won't continue, especially in a contract year and behind what should be an improved o-line. I've also been beating the "Moss is gonna have a bounceback season" drum for months. Check my post history.

Singletary is about to have a good season. He won't go away easily just because the team drafted Cook. Moss is about to contribute this season, too. The rumors of his demise were vastly premature. Glad Miller has the day off. No need for Von Miller to suit up until December, if you ask me. 😆

It's like the people who still wear Norwood jerseys. Some people are masochists.

Well....have you learned NOTHING from Alex Smith?!?!?!

Sir, this is a family friendly message board.

If they do actually end up using the red helmets this season, I hope that they: 1.) Add a white stripe in between the two center blue stripes going down the middle of the helmet, as God intended. 2.) Wear it with a blue jersey, not a red jersey, which looks weird. ------------------------------------------ Jaquon Johnson with the 1s at safety. Damar Hamlin and Nick McCloud the second team safeties.

My main takeaway from tonight so far is that Tony Boselli, Sam Mills, and Bryant Young all making the Hall of Fame before Steve Tasker is very infuriating to me.
-
So far, looks like I was correct about Moss and Ford, and wrong about Epenesa. Of course, the preseason will tell us a lot more. But I'm hearing positive things about Moss and Epenesa, and haven't heard a single positive thing about Ford.

The Hall of Fame game suuuuuuuuucks. Yes, it's officially the return of football. And in terms of the production on NBC -- the pre-game, the audio, the graphics -- it looks and feels like football....until the game starts. Even by preseason standards, this game is a big old stink-o-rama. Any players of consequence or tenure will not be playing tonight. It's gonna be a 3rd string vs practice squad battle of the no-names. Exciting if you're a Raiders or Jaguars fan or the parents of the players involved, but that's about it. I'll watch approximately 8 minutes of the game just to see "NFL football", be quickly reminded of how boring and awful it is, and switch to something else. Sorry to be Debbie Downer, but yuck yuck yuck.

I'm not sure about Elam, because -- as discussed in this thread, I've been reading mixed reports -- but it seems like I'm reading about Terrel Bernard, Baylon Spector, and Christian Benford just about every day. Beane may have very effectively fortified the defense in this draft. If Elam and Cook live up to his draft slots, too, it might be a home run draft.

It's so weird to read how two reporters can watch the same practices and come away with wildly different conclusions. Here's Joe Buscaglia about today's practice: https://theathletic.com/3478869/2022/08/04/bills-camp-observations-james-cook-zack-moss/ Jackson typifies cornerback struggles One mostly underwhelming spot for the Bills this summer has been boundary cornerback. Of course, the top cornerbacks have had to deal with dangerous receivers Stefon Diggs, Gabriel Davis, Isaiah McKenzie and MVP-candidate quarterback Josh Allen throwing them the ball, but the cornerback group has had a tough time making an impact. Third-year cornerback Dane Jackson is among those struggling. The 2020 seventh-round pick fell in coverage in a one-on-one rep against Diggs after the receiver put on a juke move. On another rep, he sensed a receiver winning the route, got grabby and was called for defensive holding. Later in the session, Davis beat him clean deep down the middle. Jackson has made some plays sparingly, but his struggles, as well as those of first-round pick Kaiir Elam, have opened the door to others. Siran Neal worked against Diggs and Davis early in camp. More recently, it’s been sixth-round pick Christian Benford getting time against the Allen-led offense over the last three days. The Bills must hope this trend is a product of going against an elite passing offense or that star cornerback Tre’Davious White will be ready to play relatively soon. Either way, the Bills need more from their top available boundary cornerbacks.

Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic is the guy primarily beating the "Elam is struggling" drum. I've read elsewhere -- including from Matt Parrino yesterday or the day before -- that he's getting better and better as camp goes on. We're talking about a rookie going primarily against Stefon Diggs every day -- one of the best route runners in the league. I would EXPECT him to struggle at this point. I think it was Thad Brown who recently said that so far, when Elam can get hands on a receiver, he can stone even Stefon Diggs. When he DOESN'T get hands on a receiver, he can be beat by bottom-of-the-roster guys. That was the book on him coming out, too: needs to learn to be less grabby and to win more without his hands. Its why they had him in boxing gloves for a practice or two. John Butler, Leslie Frazier, and Sean McDermott is as good a trio as a corner could ever hope to learn from, and he's going against elite WRs every day. I expect him to be just fine in the long run. That said, it DOES sound as though sixth rounder Christian Benford might be outplaying him to this point, which is exciting.

Your dietary preferences and your name/avatar do not square in my mind. When I think of the Italian diet, I think of fresh fish, vegetables, olive oil, fresh pasta, red wine....The Mediterranean diet is one of the healthiest and most renowned in the world. Unless you're one of those Ameri-Italians, where it's more like a chicken parm cutlet the size of a soccer ball, not visible on the plate due to being drowned in spaghetti, red sauce, melted cheese, pork sausage, and meatballs, with sides of tripe and arancini and a jumbo Diet coke. *****, now I'm hungry.

I love that this camp discussion has devolved into a discussion of the comparative merits of fast food and fruit. Good times. This has to be sarcasm, right?
