  1. Just wondering how that Zay is the number two wr, when a) hes a rookie, b) the depth chart isnt up, c) otas just started, and d) training camp hasnt even started let alone ended.
  2. When did the Bills depth chart get posted? You got a sneak peak? Here I was thinking OTAS just started silly me...
  3. That was Whaley and company. None of that regime is left.
  4. Its protecting yourself while being thrifty. Now that Whaley is gone you are likely to see that here too.
  5. This kid was given alot of chances in buffalo and was mentored by some of the best guys on this team and still failed multiple times. Sometimes it better to just move on. This time is that sometime.
  6. I hate the Patriots and Brady as much as anyone. But a) it didnt specify when, he could have received it during his 4wk suspension, or b) he could have gotten one and immediately passed the concussion protocol. Not all concussions take the same amount of time to proceed through the protocol.
  7. I like be a plan coming together. Hopefully this plan will provide wonderful fruits for the labor in the way of WINS!
  8. These guys had a plan and looks like its coming together. Put a list together of the people you wany if money isnt an option and go get them. If they wont be permitted to take the job, then move to the next one. I love it.
  9. Shiba Inu are notorious escape artists.
  10. Pff graded him as one of the best run defending cbs this year that is the first point you have made that is true so far. Rex Ryan is a huge on an island cb scheme guy. I never said he strictly played man. In a true man scheme Rex defense, 3/4 thats oh lets see here at least 2 lbrs, 2 safeties, and 3 cbs depending on the call against what 5 skill positions. Lets not act like the safeties had man assignments every play because thats not the case at all. Darby doesnt lack length unless you are considering 3/4 inch arms and 1/2 inch hand length thats easily remedied by his 9 inch vertical over White. Defensive coordinators dont draft cbs. I dont know why thats hard for you. Mcdermott didnt dictate to the gm who to draft. The only cb that we can say with certainty that is the "type" that Mcdermott likes is White. Because he had the ability to draft anyone prior to White and he chose the mirror image of size as Darby with the excpetion of 1/2 inch hands (measured outside thumbs to outside pinky finger that doesnt represent the difference in length as the difference between darby and white) and 3/4 longer arms. You are reaching for straws. I dont want your time, when I see complete bs that is unsubstantiated as in Hes not a mcdermott type cb, well Im going to destroy it just as I did your post. Heres your flawed post: The only cb Mcdermott has drafted is white exactly the same height as Darby. So mcdermott must not like White either.
  11. Ill have to break it up for you in pieces so you can read it and try and back track. -First do tackles equate to run support? The answer is no. There are a variety of ways to get tackles but to distinguish him as a great run support based solely on tackles is lazy at best. -Second, whats the purpose of a safety in a man coverage scheme. Are they on the field for looks or are they supposed to assist the cbs in stopping plays from getting out of control. Darby was beat on some plays just as literally every cornerback in the league has, will continue to, and almost always will be if you trot out poor safeties. Who drafted those cbs? Was it mcdermott? If so whats be doing the gms job for? Mcdermotts only cb that he drafted was White. Almost exactly the same physical size. With darby having 9 inches of vertical on him making his armlength and hand length nothing. Again NUANCES When did Dan Quinn become Mcdermott? Because that what this is all about. You stated that he isnt a Mcdermott cb. That completely wrong and will be proven wrong come this season. I would hope that dishonesty would take a backseat in a discussion with a supposed scout. If you dont realize the high inportance of a cb's vertical ability as it compares to ones overall ability to defend a pass much like ones length does then YIKES You dont know as much as you think you do relative to football and are completely wrong on Darby. Go back to saying Darby isnt a Mcdermott type cb, referencing a gms pick, and Quinns statement and a thumbnail length, while simultaneously dismissing 9 inches in vertical ability. Oh yeah and lets count total tackles as ones ability to support in the run game. You are dismissed.
  12. You have set a new low for saying wrong "bandit scouted" theories and then back tracking out of it. Everybit of what you stated about Darby was wrong except the mentioning Darby would be a good slot corner. Darby isnt great at run support. Darby is fast and rarely gets beat deep. Darby is just as tall as the only corner mcdermott has drafted in his life aka the one he likes. He has 3/4 inch in arm length wich is exactly a thumbnail. Darby has 9.5 inches of vertical jump on him. Darby is a great fit at boundry or slot and he has the intelligence to pick it up. You have a very difficilt tome when you are caught in a tremendously wrong statement...
  13. T. White was just drafted by Mcdermott: 5'11 192 Darby 5'11 193 Can you stop this jibberish? Darby will find a home on this defense. If thats the number 1,2, or slot he will find a home. Lets not make believe Darby as some midget without arms that has an inability to learn a scheme or coverage basics of a zone defense. He played pretty darn well his rookie year, had nonproblems picking up concepts of what many call a very tough defense to grasp. He has very fast soeed at 4.3ish and that cant be taught. He played for charles kelly in a multiple scheme there.
  14. Hopefully the beginning of a great season
  15. I think its structured, following a certain vision, cohesive, and wont be as much confrontational drama. If that leads to success well we just have to watch to find out, it certainly is a fresh breath of febreeze.
  16. The bills didnt give him permission to talk to other teams. Try again.
  17. No guys marijuana isnt a problem at all. It isnt one of a few reasons this kid lost a very lucrative job and is currently unemployed and having a hard time... Sarcasm intended
  18. Thats nice. Im not trying to sound like a know it all, but theres is more than one way to skin a cat. In all the other threads I hintes that they have had a wish list all along of people that share there vision. If another team blocks it oh well move on to the next person that shares the vision, philosophy, and loyalty that these folks do. It isnt all doom and gloom. Yea some organizations are likely to block a move. Not all. These organizations know that in order to keep high quality people thye have to allow them the opportunity for advancement, if that means in title, pay, or what have you regardless of if it is a lateral move or not. Im not worried. This group from the get go likely had a plan. Mcdermott doesnt seem like a loud mouth blowhard that rests on his past accomplishments as Rex did. To the contrary Mcdermott seems like the kind of guy hat had a plan, work ethic for days, and the determination to do everything in his power to put this team in a position to succeed. Beane shares that same vibe. It might be these guys first rodeo per se, but they are quickly putting together something very promising and there is literally zero need to worry.
  19. This move was a lateral move that no one would ok. "It's generally a pretty lateral move, but Brian was excited about building this and starting this," Beane told Buffalobills.com. "I think partnering with me and Joe was attractive. I know Brian and who he is to the core and trust that he's going to be a big time asset." Its not as difficult as you are making it out to be. These fo know that if they continously block moves for bright young up and comers regardless of position that these guys will leave or go else where to begin with.
  20. This is impossible. The sky is falling. There arent 17 people that are more qualified, united with the current GM/HC, and share the same vision in the whole world. We are doomed I tell you.SARCASM INTENDED
  21. Ok here you go like to see you fail to be honest again. These were your exact words: What were you saying? You clearly wanted some of these guys kept and you are unhappy they weren't and you are masquerading that as some kind of disadvantage for the team. Beane and Mcdermott have been lockstep. Beane was reported as the GM candidate way back when Mcdermott was hired.
  22. Kirby of lease dont insinuate that wasnt what you were stating. I guess Im not explaining myself clearer. There was a plan clearly in place prior to the Beane hiring. Just because the whole Bills fan populace wasnt privy ti the full spectrum that went into the decision doesnt make it less beneficial. The quicker the old guard was released the quicker the new crew could be gone after. The Beane Mcdermott connection was noted well in advance by one if the reporters. Everyone claimed bs. If you dont think Mcdermott and Beane had a plan prior to Beane being officially hired well, I think thats a tad bit naive.
  23. Advantages gained:-The new folks with shared vision hire there own folks. If Mcdermott wanted any of thise guys they would be retained. Why make Mcdermott work with anyone that he clearly doesnt wish to do so. The whole staff was evaluated. You are advocating for the same stink scenario thats been plaguing the Bills for years. -Sooner fired sooner hired. -Allows the fired employees an opportunity to seek employment. -Start checking off the boxes of your wish list. Look we just got an Asst GM that was a lateral move. To insinuate that we wont be able to hire any people because of lateral moves is ridiculous. -Change the culture. Those fired scouts shared a vision much like Whaleys philosophy. The new scouts will share a vision of Beane and the ciaches philosophy. -Unity self explanatory. Om sure if I thought about it for 20-30 more minutes I could come up with 5-6 foundational reasons that are advantages.
  24. Good. They dont seem to be the Bills of a lot of fans on here either. Quite scary. Im reqlly enjoying the youth movement now. Hopefully they arent as cavalier with contracts, money, and draft picks as the last regime.
  25. Not really. What if he wasnt given the contract and he truned the Bills around. Then what, fight with the ither teams that need a GM right now? Whaley was fired based on his results as a GM. It was the correct decision.
