  1. Medicine isnt 100%. They thought his foot was healed last year do you remember? Yet here we are with you exactly stating the doctors know if Sammy will be healed and when. Its simply foolish. Whats wrong with everyone? Here Ill let you know. There is no if his foot is still injured. Hes not taking part of anything until late July at the earliest. His foot is clearly still a mitigating factor. There is no if. The only if is if it will heal. Do you understand the exclusive tag?Exclusive: Just what the name implies. The player is locked into his team and cannot negotiate with any other team during the free agency period.
  2. Of course you are angry and uninformed. You have no clue what Mcdermott will do r wont be involved in regarding the offense or defense or draft. The only thing tou know is that he clearly wasnt tolerating a GM that was fired pick his draft for him.
  3. Hes still not cleared for practice and wont be until July at the earliest (if everything goes to a tee) yet your confident in saying there isnt a mitigating factor....
  4. Its clearly opinion. I spent 20 seconds after googling Watkins ooption and literally all the links i clicked on agree with the bills decision. https://www.google.com/amp/www.buffalorumblings.com/platform/amp/2017/5/2/15514476/buffalo-bills-decline-sammy-watkins-fifth-year-option https://www.google.com/amp/amp.newyorkupstate.com/v1/articles/20595480/3_reasons_why_buffalo_bills_declined_sammy_watkins_fifth-year_option.amp https://www.google.com/amp/profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/05/02/bills-were-smart-to-admit-sammy-watkins-mistake/amp/ https://www.google.com/amp/www.sportingnews.com/amp/nfl/news/nfl-free-agency-2018-sammy-watkins-fifth-year-option-declined-buffalo-bills-wide-receiver/npd67y948lpmzapzawivv8as His trade value isnt worth it. Its better to do as the Bills did and see if the young man overcomes adversity and if so hes services will be rewarded with a large contract.
  5. No just tired of the crusading against Mcdermot for something he wont let happen.
  6. I haven't the slightest clue why it is so hard for people not to understand a post like this composed of two sentences of elementary level wording... Agenda? You are hypothetically laying blame to a HC that will never let your dreamland scenario unfold. Yet I have an agenda??
  7. Nice info Shaw. I would think that what you said is true barring an epic collapse or injury regarding Taylor and his value.
  8. Good you havent read any of the posts you are being miserable because Whaley was fired and you dont agree with it. Why else would you state an unrealistic scenario that has 0.0000% chance of happening and trying to blame the HC for it? Your point was reworded 30 times for you and answered. Mcdermott wont get any grief. If Sammy produces is healed he will be retained. If Sammy doesnt no one will give grief to Mcdermot for wasting 8% of the teams cap and a roster spot for a player that isnt producing or isnt capable of playing 16 games. At least a smart person wont... You post stupid things youll get grief for it. Or at least thats what Im being told..
  9. Cool story. So in your scenario let me get this right:A. Sammy isnt healed or doesnt produce. B. Bills dont retwin him. C. Sammy goes on to do something he hasnt shown he is capable of doing two years in a row out of four years yet hes going to go on and literally have to do it every year to become all pro. Yet you still refuse to read. You set up one of the most unrealistic scenarios that could literally ever take place regarding Watkins. Its simple. Sammy shows hes healed and produces he gets the franchise tag and a contract worked out prior to the deadline. Sammy shows he isnt healed ir doesnt produce he will get a contract based off his performance no one at the end of year 4/5 will pay Sammy top wr money if he isnt healed or isnt producing. If he is healed and is producing the Bills will retain him. Its super simple yet you are making it sound like regardless if Watkins is healed or produces the Bills are going to release him and hes going to become a perennial all pro wide receiver. That scenario is truly ridiculous. You clearly have a bias against the recent decision to let Whaley go or the Pegulas. No one has any rational thought of the bills not retaining Sammy if hea healed and producing.
  10. Did you not read my response? Your making the assumption that hes not retained. So you are 100 percent giving up on Sammys ability to prove his foot is healthy and he produces up to his talent. Because he would get signed if his foot is healed and he produces up to his talent. Therefore in your hypothetical scenario Sammy will either not be healthy or not produce and therefore logically one can assume Mcdermoatt is safe from grief because Sammy didnt warrant keeping. Dont move the goal poasts anymore, read the response, think before typing.Bottom line up front: Sammy wont make it to another team if he produces and is healed. If Sammy doesnt produce or isnt healed Mcdermott wont catch any grief for not retaining a player that doesnt produce or isnt healed. Brush up on comprehension DC tom has a bot for this. I have tried to explain it to you multiple different ways that Mcdermott would catch no heat yet you still think im talking about whether or not we should keep him. 1. Who allocates 8% of the cap fully guaranteed to a wr that averages 12 games 800 yds a season? Then mcdermott catches no heat 2. Why not make the WR earn his pay and if he doesnt show his body can withstand the rigors or he doesnt produce then Mcdermott catches no heat.
  11. mwhis stopping Mcdermott from signing Sammy if its shown that his foot can withstand a 16 game season. Thats the point thats eacaped you. If it cant I dont blame them for not keeping Watkins. You have to be on the field to contribute. Thats the point. It doesnt matter if Watkins had 6 200 yard games with 3 tds in each, if hea not on the field for the other 10 its not good for the team because a) you wont have money for another number one wr, b) your number two becomes your number 1 and so forth, c) as you seen last year the offense had to change with Sammy out. The kid needs to prove his foot is healed and if the foot is healed and he produces your scenario wont play out and you wont lose any sleep over it.
  12. This was released by the Bills today: Watkins is currently not cleared to participate fully in the teams offseason conditioning program and is not expect to participate in the OTA practice sessions coming up in a couple of weeks. The receiver is on schedule to be cleared for the start of training camp in late July.
  13. Im not emotionally involved the kid is averaging 819.66 yards, 12.33 games, and 5,67tds per year and you want to allocate 8 percent of the teams salary cap fully guaranteed against injury for production that could be that or less? The team knows Sammys not 100%. You are the emotionally vested one here that is blinded by unreached potential and past costs instead of the teams best interests.
  14. Are you the guy that comes into a thread with no useful knowledge and attempts a very poor attempt that could only be construed as a fail at humor?
  15. You cant be serious HOF possibilities?TO is still waiting. Let me know when he comes close to 190 games played, 1100 receptions, 14.5k yards, and 128 tds thats what Harrison got inducted for. To put that in perspective Ill use Sammy's best year only. He needs ten more years playing 16 games. He needs 15 more years 60 receptions. He needs 11.5 more years of 1047 yard seasons. He needs 12 more 9 td seasons. Cmon I dont see that now and I dont know that anyone would claim he has HOF possibilities. Hes simply not worth the risk of tying 13 million up with out having the luxury of recouping that money for injuries to possibly use to pay another player. Now if he demonstrates his foot can withstand the rigors of an NFL season sure sign him, its too early right now.
  16. Sunk previous costs should play no part in future retention. Its not the same waste. If you pay a player 13 mil and he goes out and does what he did last year thats a waste. Similarly if he gets injured in any way and isnt putting up top numbers getting paid thats a waste. Let him earn it.
  17. Buffalo86 dont bring rational thought in this thread. You are correct two of the best decisions made in this organization less than a week apart in what seems to be a decade!
  18. I dont know if anyone seen this: Per reporter Vic Carucci, Whaley's firing was "fulfillment of a condition of McDermott's employment." This had been the rumor for months. It's a little surprising the Bills were willing to go through the public motions for weeks on end, but then again, they're not a good franchise. They're hoping McDermott will change that. 19. Lets blame others for our inability to get our ex teams where they needed to be.
  20. Was apart of the chargers jets and bucs last year.
  21. Ill make as many posts as I wish.
  22. No good to anyone if in the training room or recovering from sore (insert body part).
  23. They had nonflexibiltiy in spreading the 13. They can franchise him and workout a contrqct before the deadline if needed.
  24. Thank goodness level heads prevailed. Sure would hate to have given away money in the event of an injury, much rather pay him his true worth if hes capable of being productive and healthy for a season.
